I would use the HU2000 to assist with hurricane damaged areas in multiple states. My expectation is to get involved based on my forty years of construction experience and give back as others gave when my wife and I lost all we had in the Beattyville, Kentucky flooding that occurred in March of 2021.
I currently own the HC68 and have been considering a second headlamp for employees and my wife to use as we embark on our hurricane work adventure.

My friends and i bought the HU2000 and we are happy that Nitecore build flashlights witch are powered by Powerbanks. Till the HU2000 our daily Headlamp was the HU60 with Remote. Please don't stop making Headlamps or Campinglights or Flashlights witch are powered by Powerbanks for endless runtime. ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤

Having just purchased this light (HU2000), I was surprised to find that the stated runtime of 2000 lumen is NOT for the full 9 hours. The included runtime table in the user manual shows that the light drops by nearly 1300 lumen to around 750 lumen within the first 30 minutes of runtime. By the 9 hour mark, the lumen output tapers to around 600 lumen.

Is this due to heat or the mah of the power bank used. Edit; just checked, seems a con to say 9 hours at turbo when it drops in 30 mins

I'd love one of these for work! I'm an electrician working mainly in industrial settings and I have gone through many head lamps, I use one everyday.. Dust, dirt, and water always seems to creep into them and they eventually just stop working. I really love the idea of using the HU2000 and attaching it to the strap of my overalls. The slim battery pack would sit perfectly in my large zippered chest pocket and I could easily run the cable between them with a clip or two. Epic light!

This is more in tune with what I do for work. I’m a welder here in the US and there are times my company had delays to bring us generator lights. I had a Milwaukee 500lm pocket magnet floodlight and it got stolen on one of our jobs. This would be great to mount in a hardhat when in high or tight places and no light available otherwise. Very informative.

Spent most of time in the backcountry as an guide leading people kayaking, hiking or just appreciating nature. Having a headlamp with unlimited brightness is definitely a plus. I like how easy it is to change the battery and the light stays on while doing so. Definitely a huge plus point for me.
No more scrambling to replace batteries in the dark for me, if I could get my hands on one. Kudos for always great products with the users in mind!

I have a number of headlamps. While I use top rated hand-held torches for all my uses, when it come to working in a tight cupboard or doing some precision work, I must use an headlamp. Headlamps get mistreated very easily if you are camping or working on a car, or misplaced when working in a closet.
I still have some headlamps with a bi-pin 10W halogen bulb, powered by Ni-MH batteries at the back of the head, making 200 lumens!
I like this new Nitecore headlamp because it has the battery at the back of the head, this is how I have used headlamps for decades; I consider the front battery to be a limitation, unless they are a couple of AAA cells - of negligible weight.
    Greetings from the UK,
    Anthony

Lumen output v. runtime v. size and weight usually has compromises. This looks like a fantastic option. Having just upgraded to the MH25 Pro, I'm surpised at the output of the Nitecore range. I'm involved in a lot of remote, night time (native forest) pest control so this goes on the list of 'must-haves'.
    Great video, as usual! 😎

This is very interesting headlamp. I recently started doing nighttime trekking and camping in extreme conditions, fog, heavy snow, etc.
Nothing beats Nitecore throwers in these weather conditions with the exception that battery is shortened by up to 70% when you go below -5°
This is why I ordered the Nitecore Summit 20000 battery. Exceptional product, really. If You manage your battery levels, you can achieve amazing things comfortably. REMEMBER TO WARM THE LIGHT, BEFORE YOU CHARGE IT WHEN BELOW 0°.
I really doubt the reliability of flooders in heavy fog and snow. When met with a lot of particles infront of the light, they seem to light up the fog and actually impact your eyesight in a very negative way when you are trying to see further. I currently use an old HU60. It has the benefit of running a little hotter, which increases the runtime in cold, cause it doesn't let the light get too cold. It has warm colour profile, so the spot beam doesn't blind you when met with snow of dense fog.

I like it. Seems like a flexible head lamp that can be used in many ways. I’m Impressed with the red light function as have never seen one with that kind of output. Where I go many insects have never even seen any artificial lights and they come for a visit making life uncomfortable. The little red lights I have also make walking around at night extremely dangerous as we have many deadly snakes here in Australia, and they are out in force at night in the hotter parts of the year.

I am a dedicated Rock Engineer working in the underground mining environment, where my primary responsibility is to conduct early entry safe declaration inspections. These inspections are crucial for identifying hazardous conditions, particularly areas at risk of ground falls, which could endanger the lives of the underground personnel. The Nitecore HU2000 headlamp would be an invaluable tool in my work, as it would enable me to better detect potential dangers in low-visibility conditions, ensuring early identification of unsafe areas. Having this reliable equipment will enhance my ability to protect the safety and well-being of my team.

love this head torch. my current torch runs on only a single AA battery, its fairly bright but only lasts for 25 mins on a good night. and has a habit of going out at critical moments. i live in philips but work in iraq and we live off of generator power on site which regularly dies during hot sumer nights. having this torch would be a game changer for me, no more night time toilet trips in the dark and my night shift would no longer mean changing battery 10 times 😂.

I just got the HU 2000 and I got the carbon 6K extender kit. That would be great if somehow Nightcore would make a coupler for the bungee USB cords so that you could attach two or more of them together and they could charge like five or six bucks each. I would buy two of them right now. This way you can have the lamp on your backpack and use several of the bungee USB cords and connect them all together using the clips so that the battery could be deep in your backpack if you’re not using it as a headlamp, but want to light the trail ahead of you having the light on your backpack strap. Right now you can use another cord, but it would be really cool to use those proprietary bungee versions.

Nice overview. 2000 L is quite bright. I think the strap to hold the usb cable to the power bank is not a good design. It is a bigger problem to disconnect than to connect a cable in real-world use. The chances to break the cable connection with wire connected lights. The better design would be to have a magnettic usb c connector to prevent the breaking of the usb c connectors. Then 10 array is interesting but could be better. A wider beam is nice, but for a head lamp, you also want a spot light for longer distance viewing. This is where the UH2000 falls short. I like the version with the 18650 or 21700 battery swappable feature to the back of the strap. In my experience, the biggest experience I have is that the batteries in the lights can not be swapped. Especially the smaller batteries don't last long and fail prematurely simetimea. It would be nice to replace this built-in batteries too for lo ger life. I otherwise discard the light because they don't work
The biggerbarteries built-in the lights last longer, but the smaller batteries are more prone to.faulutr over time. I think the design with the replaceable 18650 or 21700 batteries is the better investment, both built in silo's behind the headlight and the hot swappable ones behind the headband
