I apologise for the silly question but I was always curious as to why some bass players use their thumb while others don't. I noticed you started out by using your thumb primarily instead of your first and second fingers. Is this simply sound/tone "thing' or does using your thumb make it easier to play faster songs or is it a commination of both?
That's a good question. It is a combo of the things you mention. Depending on the song it can be a tone thing. The thumb gives you a different tone than the fingers or using a pick. Using a pick or fingers works great for faster songs but I've seen guys play fast with the thumb too.
Sorry my brutha I don't work with tabs. You can learn this one by ear just take your time and sing the bass notes and then find the notes on the bass. It's great ear training...
Wow the part you played at 4:20 is SOOO great! Thanks for sharing!

Top lesson. Got me groovin. THX Deluca👍😎🎸🤘
Nice video man... m getting inspired to buy a bass guitar. I like your groove.
Thanx Sir D
Here's one I recorded a while ago that I forgot to publish on UA-cam. Just a quickie lesson on adding your own flavor to a simple groove.
Love the bass combined with the song! That was amazing! Excellent
Love the little smirk you got going on lol

I like these pocket songs, I need to work on my speed, this was a good work out being that I broke the pinky finger on my left hand.

Thank you for this! If I were playing chord tones or scales, which would i use? Is it a straight G and D major?
Yup G major to D major. Don’t be afraid to improvise and make it your own.
@@DeLucaBass thanks!
