Love to see clique just doing whatever. Don’t matter if it’s a 3 hour re-sim on 2k, a dumb fun rec shenanigans or a deep analysis on nba history. It’s honestly refreshing and great to see cause I feel some UA-camrs get lost and wayyyy too caught up in what gets them views and money rather than just being themselves and doing what makes them happy because honestly you’re at your best when you’re not trying to force the algorithm to push the numbers. Keep up the content man 👍
I really liked the style and format of this video, I feel like it would also work going through and breaking down old nba trades with draft picks and seeing what those picks became to see who won the trades
This was cool. I knew the pick was traded but had no clue it was that bad of a decision. The Clippers were 21-37 when they traded their unprotected first. Some franchises are just terrible.
Don't know if this is well known or not, but the Nuggets trading Donovan Mitchell on draft night for Trey Lyles and the 24th pick in 2017 is wild to me. The Nuggets could've had a big three of Mitchell, Murray, and Jokic. Defense would've been even worse than it is now though lol.
There are some many of these you could cover tbh. 1.Nets trading their first round pick in 2012 to Portland for Gerald Wallace. (pick was Damian Lillard) 2.Bulls tradng Elton Brand to the Clippers for their pick. (pick was Tyson Chandler) 3.Pacers trading Kawhi for George Hill. (Kawhi wasn't proven but at worst, would have been a great defensive player for Indiana) 4.Sonics trading Scottie Pippen for Olden Polynice 5.Bucks trading Dirk for Robert Traylor on draft day (Sad fact, but Robert died the same year the Mavs won their title)
Also I would love to see more of these videos, you just looking up this stuff up for fun. I'm gonna head over to the Wikipedia for those Clippers teams to update with this information
To be fair, (and I can’t believe I’m defending olshey my lord) the owner of LAC at that time was…Sterling. He was soooo cheap, very well known for making a billion salary cutting moves and giving up valuable assets to do so. I doubt Olshey wanted to do that trade lol. Prolly had a mandate to dump $ or w/e.
This a great addition to the comments section. This just some stuff I found out on a random day I didnt even think about the owner. While not 100% definitely possible
So knowing this new information, you should make a 5-10 year sum but the draft trades never got traded, so kyrie would be with the clippers, dame would be on the nets, so the normal trades stay like cp3 going to clippers that stays but the trade for kyrie that would stay but the draft pick would stay with the clippers, if that makes since
What makes this even funnier is the Clippers told Paul George verbally they would draft him if he was still on the board when their pick came...only to draft Al-Farouq Aminu instead...the Clippers could have drafted Blake Griffin, Paul George and Kyrie Irving in back-to-back-to-back drafts
I was thinking about this recently with the rumored LeBron Era for NBA 2K24… thinking about if LeBron resigned the. The Cavs don’t trade Mo Williams for Baron Davis, which means no Kyrie Irving
LA cleared that cap space and then Cleveland amnestied Davis using the clause in 2011. The Clippers could've waited a season, amnestied Davis and kept that pick.
Like nobody under Sarver had much power tbh. There’s prolly a bunch of salary dumps during that time or terrible trades to save $ that came back to bite them. He was madddddd cheap.
w vid style we need more of these tbh

Clique not knowing how to say semi-common last names is my all time favorite running joke on his channels lmao

How would they have possibly known the pick would jump that high?
@@cheeseoh They didn't know it would jump to 1, but they knew it would be a higher lottery pick. That's a very valuable pick.
@@cheeseoh Even if it stayed. 8th pick for 11 mil cap space is a terrible trade.
The editing on this video is fire
About to do this on a 2k simulation, thanks clique
The editing went crazy
love this style of content man
Respect the grind. Love the research u put into this video. U should have a channel just for content like this as well. Keep it up homie
A series on this concept of trades would be dope
Definitely make more of these

The nuggets also traded gobert, so they could have had him too
This was a fire video. loved learning about one big gm/team orgy

Im still upset about my bobcats trading gerald wallace :( we should've kept that team together a couple more years :(
I was thinking about this recently with the rumored LeBron Era for NBA 2K24… thinking about if LeBron resigned the. The Cavs don’t trade Mo Williams for Baron Davis, which means no Kyrie Irving
More of this
As a Blazer fan am i very well aware of who the evil Neil Olshey is
Well this channel seems like it doesn’t exist anymore lol

Some GMs get away with too much

The Cavs should've given Baron Davis a ring

I wonder if they keep and use that pick or it just gets sent to the Hornets in December for the CP trade 🤔
Hello @Clique Exists, do you have a business email?
This some matpat shit
Buchanan
Does Kyrie still go crazy if he land with the Clippers??
depends if the kehlani & partynextdoor situation still happens.
If it was the thumbnail everyone who watched basketball knew it was baron and pick for mo Williams. No "everyone don't know." Didn't watch video.
