My mom is Cuban and she spoke to me my whole childhood in Spanish. I always responded in English. Then we moved to Mexico! And after that I had to get good at it... Anyway, I'm so thankful to her. It's been really, super useful to know more than one language. First of all, now I speak English, Spanish, Japanese, and a bit of Chinese. Knowing two languages helps you learn more. The world isn't as big as we think, but it's a lot bigger than you can comprehend if you only know one language. My recommendation: try to speak Portuguese with your family as much as possible! 🎶🌿
