Thanks for not making this a political conversation. 😏😅Although it seems one side want to share their stance here. I am not interested in anyone's political leanings and will hide any comments i feel touch that subject. Simply wanted to share an understanding of how tariffs work, and how they apply to our hobby. There's probably plenty of other places to share your political opinions. This ain't it. Best regards
Given the opportunity people seem to feel the need to express their political beliefs and ideals. I personally am really tired of it. What concerns me is the distribution now. How will this affect the distribution considering the fact that scalpers here literally make a living off of reselling merchandise on eBay. In my town shelves are usually close to being empty. This goes for action figures as well. We've already seen some pretty high price increases from Hasbro since the Pandemic hit. Now with potential tariffs possibly happening how much more will these costs increase? I went from getting 15-50 Hot Wheels a month to maybe getting 10 a year. Matchbox I'm lucky if I find any new castings. Being disabled I don't have the ability or option of going to every store. Every Dollar Tree, Ollie's, Dollar General, etc. I am unsure what will come from this except that us collectors will be spending a lot more 💰money💰 on our favorite hobbies. That's tough since right now the Die-Cast cars are better than they have ever been. Which again is why this is so painful. Politicians have tunnel vision, but they don't understand that one decision can snowball into more issues. Politicians don't have to worry about grocery shopping, gas prices, rent. Let alone hobbies, entertainment, and other variables.
@EdsterIII yeah are absolutely correct. I had to pin a comment to try and slow the campaigning. Just aware how few people understand international trade and how it affects us
Interesting to be here talking about tariffs but we never talked about inflation. Our local Walmart has been steadily increasing the price of Hot Wheels. This seems to me like panic being fueled by mainstream media. Thanks for the content up to now but I've unsubscribed....I'm out.
Walter, I was pokin around here on the Tube, and stubled upon your vid. I am currently not a big diecast collector, i just buy stuff off and on. I do collect vintage Matchbox. I used to be very big into Hot Wheels in thr 90s, but have liquidated all diecast, THs and my entire Redline collection with the exception of my vintage Matchbox.. I just couldnt see $25k just sitting in a acrylic case on my wall. I sat thru your entire video, and have to say, i very much enjoyed it. Thank you for your effort creating a very informative video. I subscribed, and ill be watching from now on. Thank you my new HW friend.
Can also confirm the color on that Audi super is amazing. Was at Target on Sunday, had a few of the new A case cars in my hand and then was looking at other stuff. Then a worker was putting stuff back on the pegs from a go back cart, waited until they were done and went back to the aisle and saw a few more. Didn't realize it at first, I was like oh this is a nice color and then it hit me what I had in my hand.
That Neon Speeders mix is pretty sick. Nice models, and the graphics with the animals seem like they have real intent, not just random geometric shapes like that one previous set.
I stopped at Walmart on the way home today. I found the Dodge Hemi from Neon Speeders. It's so sweet. I also found the Porsche as well. Great evening:)
Love how it’s not all about supers and chases me personally sick and tired of seeing that’s all everyone wants and is chasing or making videos about and always enjoy the live streams
Gmorning Walter and animal friends! Great informative video, thanks for showing us some up and comings, some great looking stuff coming in 2025! Very excited for this year!
New to your channel, this is my first video. I subscribed before it was over. Great content, I'm neck deep in hot wheels because of my grandson. Love it
We are excited about some of the new stuff coming out next year as well. We haven’t seen next years stuff here yet. The last couple years they’ve shown up the last week or so of December. We still hope to see M-P, since our area jumped over all of those mixes and went straight to Q.
Huge fan from Indy Walter... strong Republican, former Democrat... I grew up on NWA and when they split I stuck with Eazy... he died too young but Ice Cube hit it hard with No Vaseline which cracked me up... 2 Live Crew took us to Washington and you know the rest. I'm just a poser, long haired white dude from Indy and love everything and everyone in life. Whatever needs to be done to get our kids safe and sound before my day comes I am down for and I am certain you are as well! Will the next four years be difficult? I genuinely hope so my friend because the easy life will bury us all! Keep these awesome videos coming and thanks for supporting us small guys out here in the hobby! Your friend Chad of Chadmark! As always... Stay Badass!
Cool! Thanks for riding alog, Chad! Appreciate ya. 👊🏽 I can't say life is "easy" for us Americans... Though I use the "1st world problems" saying when it's applicable. 🤣😅
Tariffs can also be used to make the seller decrease the price to absorb some of the incoming “tax”. Millions of dollars come into play which could make some things be tougher to find. Lots of moving parts in this. I appreciate the heads up on the newer castings, lots of JDM in the exclusive series which I am not a huge fan of but hey…everybody is different.
Too many JDM for me too. It can, and has been used for different reasons and motivations. Yes, a retailer can absorb those costs, but why? Their business model is designed with a particular margin in mind for success. As a retailer I wouldn't sacrifice my profitability... the remedy is to raise prices. This will directly affect us consumers. That's the only dynamic I'm discussing. Not looking to trash, or celebrate an economic tool we aren't in control of. I appreciate you sharing absolutely.
Business no longer absorbs any reduction in profits. It colludes with its 'competitors' to keep prices as high as possible, rather than competing to provide the lowest price. It learned decades ago that the American consumer is too apathetic to push back or to cut back. As he clearly describes, business sticks to its margin (% of profit), so when their costs rise, your prices typically jump by twice that. In other words, when you suffer, their profits soar.
Great Video I just subscribbed. Glad to see the hobbyb is alive and well still. Great explanation on how tarriffs work. Maybe scalpers will stop scalping if people stop paying ridiculous prices.
Awesome war report ! can't wait to find some 2025s . I can see them raising a tariff on products not American. I can understand why they would charge American companies more for manufacturing out of the US, which on the other hand I don't feel they should put the cost back on us. There's no way American companies will ever bring back manufacturing to the US. Here's a crazy thought.... how much of Target or Walmarts products are made in some other country ? Probably a good 95% if not more. I don't know this answer but I'm guessing Mattel never made Hot Wheels in the US and never will in my lifetime. Thanks for allowing us to ride along and the great peg vibes. 🤘✌
You'd be amazed at number things we import. To bring manufacturing back here would cost an insane amount. IMO retailers shouldn't be punished for buying goods from other places if it's not available locally, and affordable. Pretty positive we can improve our border scrutiny without making us citizens pay more. Numbers of crossing from the south have been down for the last 11 months, and that 40 kilo drug bust in Canada last week is proof that border patrol are getting things done in that sector, too Any price increase to an existing product w/o an added feature, safety, or value is not justified in my mind. Idk. I'm a simple fella, and hope we are happy and here, to see what comes of it all.
The first hot wheels, the 16, were made in the USA. Only bad part is when DaDon leaves office, the tariffs will go away,BUT, big business will probably not go down on prices, AND make even more profit. Invest now , reap later. 4 years not that long. ( I wonder if a factory could be built in the USA. China used to make high quality hot wheels back in the day . Now the product is no were as good. ( Wobbly wheels, pits on the wheels, paint chips) . Pride in the job one does is rare these days with some of our youth. BUT, we just talkin bout hot wheels, there a toy for goodness sakes😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅
A couple back, I can't remember the HotWheels track set was made 8 different Asian countries not China most of the toy companies are moving out of China alot of HotWheels come out of Vietnam I worked in the Bicycle industry when the North American free trade Agreement alot of companies Bilt factories south of our borders Most factories ended being import export storage if they even did that American companies making stuff iN USA shipped stuff south for tax stamps then shipped back it was insane same tariffs will be dropped for specific items soon after it happened in bike industry pretty quickly then the tariffs were returned to payers prices still stayed the same to consumers hopefully it's just threat for now I hate paying more for my Collectables
Nice war report video and lots of great new hot wheels coming out.👍 I will be on the hunt for most of those and I can't wait to add most of those to my hot wheels collection.👍
I have a small collection of monsters trucks, over 1000 of Hot Wheels, regular basic and some redlines and some movie cars and last but not least is abondance of matchboxes. I also have 1:24 scale of Jada, M2 s, maisto, greenlight, Champions, and other sizes of the same brands.
Hope you and yours had an amazing Thanksgiving as well! I got a preview of the D case from a channel out of Malaysia and man its got some hot stuff in there as well!!! Love seeing all the new stuff that could be coming out, out there. We haven't had any of the new cases in my area yet, but hoping as Christmas gets closer we will see some sign of them. It's usually pretty slow for us up here in MN. DID happen across a pretty exciting find at the Dollar tree down the road from my house today though, well I should say my wife did. She found a SHORT CARD example of the Matchbox Indiana Jones Tuk Tuk! I had 2 of the long cards, but had never seen any on short cards! It was an exciting find for us. I know probably not for most of the old heads around here, but I'll take the small victories where I can gettem :) LOVED hearing about the Pop Culture stuff coming out, I'm really into that stuff. I watched alot of Knight Rider and Scooby Doo growing up. Anyhow, much love to you and yours! Sending those FULL PEG VIBES!
All I want is the Red racing F1 car to go along with my preordered HW F1 car, that set that comes out I will buy all of. Side note, end of year and I quite literally just found the 56th anniversary set 2 chase piece sitting on the pegs just waiting for me to grab her. The dodge van baby!
Btw, finished the rest of the video, and I’m a Crip, because I care about protecting our Democracy and marginalized groups. Oh and if the tariffs do happen all the “Bloods” screaming about insane fuel prices and the cost of eggs under the Chief Crip are in for a rude awakening. Masterdebater exits the chat with “Still D.R.E.” bumping in the background. Stay gangster✌️🕶️
Is that you on Facebook selling? Some crazy deals man!!! Waiting till paycheck before spending some, can’t wait to buy if it is you, seem like a great guy, subscribed!! Just found ur Facebook and your video popped up on youtube, I recognized the name lol. On fb I’m the one who asked which state you are in. Stay blessed, expect some messages on fb from soon 😅😁 good luck with UA-cam, I’ll be watching!
I was upset i couldn't find the YELLOW bumblebee on pegs until i recently found the GOLD one. OMG, now i definitely need to find a second one so i can open!! Lololol
Even with tariffs you’ll still have some of the cheapest Hot Wheels and way more availability of cars than many other countries. Here in the UK my local shops are about six months behind on stock.
Correct me if I am wrong, but aren't Ultra Hots spectra flame? And you're right, we will still keep paying no matter what the price. Guess I'll be skipping out on buying honey buns and saving it for more cars! Another great show! Oh, and I hope I find that merc, the purple is legendary!!
Greenlight, and tootsie make terrible castings that fall apart, and cost much more than Mattel's offering. It would cost too much to bring it back, there's a video of CEO's and CFO's(not Mattel)discussing what it would take for them to manufactur here. It was a pretty short video.
That's Kool you have dogs, cats n Guinea pigs I can always relate to a true animal lover. Just found you I'm into Ho slot cars. But I have quite a few diecast Good video
Will things be affected by tariffs if they are sent through another country besides China, Mexico or Canada? Can H.W. be made in a different country and not affected?
1:51 I happened to score me one of those Ford Performance Supervan 4 Treasure Hunts without even realizing it. Not until I returned home, and went through my finds did I notice that I had unintentionally snag me a Treasure Hunt. My first unintentional find!
Few castings nock it out of the park for me. Very picky! 2024 had about 5. So far in the 2025 models. Nothing has done it. That's OK. It gives me approximately 6 months to save up mi ey to get anything I like that comes out later in the year.
Wasn't one of our wealthiest times as a country when we had high tariffs? If so, I'd rather do something like that again if it overall helps us... Good luck out there on yalls hunt!! 😁
@thehotlineofdiecast.7623 Definitely brother. Wealthy & powerful. I don't mean no disrespect to our country. I was just bringing it up in a question of fact cause I swear that is a historical fact in our modern time but I'll have to check. What I also meant was to just compare against ourselves as a country. How & where we've been economically throughout our history. We've had our ups & downs & I'm sure we all want to get to a better place because where we've been lately ain't it. I don't think anyone is denying that lol But yeah, definitely didn't mean no disrespect to our country.
@YenCrew didn't sense any negative. Appreciate talking with all about all things. Just not good for business to talk it on this channel, ya know? Thanks for swinging fing back through to double check. Sending those full peg vines your way my G.
@@thehotlineofdiecast.7623 My bad. I shouldn't have strayed away from Hot Wheels lol But yes, wishing you all the luck on the hunting too brother. Stay Blessed 💯
Dyk that the Mustang is the most produced Hot Wheels model? Mustang Hunter has his collection work cut out for him😂 HW are made in Malaysia and Thailand, are they not? Not the same as China.
I didn't know that. I was aware it's one the most popular. Guess I assumed it was most consistently purchased when I learned. Thanks for the insight brochacho. 👊🏽👊🏽👊🏽
I think Mattel is shoving these toolings right down our throat!! As fast as we can blow our nose 👃 and the distribution is horrible it took me 11/2 years to send 20 dollars in DG in Greenville south Carolina. We have a least 15 in my area .shame on them !! From 2019- 2024 lol
and a lot of the Hot wheels that are made come from Malaysia and ppl need to realize the cost to make just one casting of a hot wheel's is not cheap to make for a not so rich country like Malaysia there for prices will go up
I would rather pay more for a hotwheel than have this country go in the direction it was going for the last four years. Just my opinion. I love hotwheels but I can live without them. Cool show dude.
Looks like that's the direction. I sure hope whomever is responsible... remembers to raise our wages to cope. I buy thousands of other goods. With that, I don't welcome an added tax on any. Politicians are pretty well-off and won't feel the level of discomfort that most Americans will. If allowed, I will complain about every administration ever since I dropped my 1st ballot. I'm sure I'll have complaints at the end of this admins term, also. No parties, no problems.
@thehotlineofdiecast.7623 True. Politicians at one point cared about us. But not anymore. All they care about is their money and interests. For me it was all about the border crisis. I can not back anyone that turns their back on this country and lets in millions of illegals just to give them my tax money while so many are homeless and suffering. Just my opinion.
The root issue is that this country has become addicted to cheap Chinese junk. So much so that we as a society decided that it is easier and cheaper to have a Chinese kid toil in the filth to make our toys, so we closed our factories let them do it. People need to stop price shopping and support our own country. In order for tariffs to be effective we need to 1.) have a domestic alternative available or make it painful enough that companies start making them here, AND (this has to be done in conjunction) 2.) more money has to be put in consumers pockets to cover the increase temporarily until prices level off and come back down.
@OttoTheWeim that wasn't my decision. I don't believe we should pay more for stuff because our colonial project worked well, and we grew into the most powerful country. Even more so because it's an unnecessarily added tax with no kick back to the consumer.
Well hot wheels will gust have to be made in the u s a again not Hong Kong or China they should just bring back the sweet 16 red lines again. Just like in 1968. F g b thank you for Donald trump. Also you are boring
Or Thailand, India, Mexico, etc... come on man. If you were collecting as long as you lead me to believe... you would know manufacturing isn't limited to Asia. Lol. Why'd you bring up Donald Trump? I said nothing about the critter. And if my sharing of "how tariffs work" for the orca big number of collectors who aren't aware, triggers you... I can't help ya. Paul, you and I both know you enjoy the show. You been watching for a while.

Interesting to be here talking about tariffs but we never talked about inflation. Our local Walmart has been steadily increasing the price of Hot Wheels. This seems to me like panic being fueled by mainstream media. Thanks for the content up to now but I've unsubscribed....I'm out.

Just found ur Facebook and your video popped up on youtube, I recognized the name lol. On fb I’m the one who asked which state you are in. Stay blessed, expect some messages on fb from soon 😅😁 good luck with UA-cam, I’ll be watching!
Ayyyy! Yes, I need a hard reset, and am clearing out. Thanks for watching the channel. Its truly appreciated
I was literally about to comment that you should address mail-in. And then you did. There's also a Walmart mail-in from 2022
I didn't catch what store is doing the unimog mail in. I can't find a link in the video description. Where is it from? Thanks!
Yeah bringing the Bronco and subie back. Or didn't get through them all.
I was wondering that myself.I don't think you mentioned it.What store is that ? @@thehotlineofdiecast.7623
I was upset i couldn't find the YELLOW bumblebee on pegs until i recently found the GOLD one. OMG, now i definitely need to find a second one so i can open!! Lololol
That gold is a head-turner, lol.
Even with tariffs you’ll still have some of the cheapest Hot Wheels and way more availability of cars than many other countries. Here in the UK my local shops are about six months behind on stock.
@@CycolacFan oh I know. I was traveling internationally this summer and was reminded how good we got it.
Interesting thst ultra hots are only at target in US. In Canada they are usually sold in toys r us.
Kinda... It's a segment/collection reserved for store exclusives. Are they only at toyrus there?
Correct me if I am wrong, but aren't Ultra Hots spectra flame? And you're right, we will still keep paying no matter what the price. Guess I'll be skipping out on buying honey buns and saving it for more cars! Another great show! Oh, and I hope I find that merc, the purple is legendary!!
They are spectra, and why they cost $0.20 more than the silver.
Thanks for the insight. I appreciate it!
Appreciate you as well. Thanks for riding along.
🎉🎉👍 great video
🥳🥳🥳
We need to make the hot wheels in the US again..
Greenlight, and tootsie make terrible castings that fall apart, and cost much more than Mattel's offering. It would cost too much to bring it back, there's a video of CEO's and CFO's(not Mattel)discussing what it would take for them to manufactur here. It was a pretty short video.
If mainline HW were made in the US they would cost 8 bucks each.
That's Kool you have dogs, cats n Guinea pigs
I can always relate to a true animal lover.
Just found you I'm into Ho slot cars.
But I have quite a few diecast
Good video
Stoked to connect with another animal lover. We have a domestic farm. Lol
What year is the Aston Martin Vanquish, etc?
It's a new 2025 casting.
Or from the movie? Its definitely a mark from the year the film was released
this is why I go diecast hunting at Antique malls
Makes sense
Will things be affected by tariffs if they are sent through another country besides China, Mexico or Canada? Can H.W. be made in a different country and not affected?
The origin is the factor. Hw has been made here, Mexico, Taiwan, India, thailand and i'm missing one or a couple...
Love the video... what state do you call home?
Ayyy. Montana. Western Montana specifically. I live where they film Yellowstone
🔥🔥👍😎
I always look forward to these beautiful cryptic messages. 👊🏽🥳
👍👍👍👍👍👍

I happened to score me one of those Ford Performance Supervan 4 Treasure Hunts without even realizing it. Not until I returned home, and went through my finds did I notice that I had unintentionally snag me a Treasure Hunt. My first unintentional find!
Thats always a rad feeling!
Few castings nock it out of the park for me. Very picky! 2024 had about 5. So far in the 2025 models. Nothing has done it. That's OK. It gives me approximately 6 months to save up mi ey to get anything I like that comes out later in the year.
I like how you hobby. 👊🏽
Lol I thought that was a Datsun too😂
Lol
Maybe us Americans can make hotwheels!
@@markwhitney5821 we have, on and off. Unfortunately, it's pennies on the dollar to produce in other countries.
Wasn't one of our wealthiest times as a country when we had high tariffs? If so, I'd rather do something like that again if it overall helps us...
Good luck out there on yalls hunt!! 😁
We are stilll the wealthiest country.
I don't think anyone is denying that lol
But yeah, definitely didn't mean no disrespect to our country.
@YenCrew didn't sense any negative. Appreciate talking with all about all things. Just not good for business to talk it on this channel, ya know? Thanks for swinging fing back through to double check. Sending those full peg vines your way my G.
@@thehotlineofdiecast.7623 My bad. I shouldn't have strayed away from Hot Wheels lol
But yes, wishing you all the luck on the hunting too brother. Stay Blessed 💯
Make the in the good Ole USA! THATS WHATS UP 😊
Would be fantastic. Unfortunately, most see it as too costly for the company. Would be rad to have more than just HW manufactured here.
What I'm a Lil upset with is the ultra hots play set doesn't come with ultra hot cars
I noticed that also. They were smart enough to not pigeon hole themselves by doing so.
@thehotlineofdiecast.7623 id so buy a play set if it actually came with them
Yes sir items may go up but we will keep more of our money without taxes,
Dyk that the Mustang is the most produced Hot Wheels model?
Gotta blame DG.
I don't like the new version of the Baja Bug I miss the Baja Bug from the 90's I wish hot wheels would bring back that version
I'm pretty sure they still have the tooling, and they will most likely re release it. 🤞🏽🤞🏽🤞🏽
and a lot of the Hot wheels that are made come from Malaysia and ppl need to realize the cost to make just one casting of a hot wheel's is not cheap to make for a not so rich country like Malaysia there for prices will go up
Hot. Wheels. News. December. 2024
Hi Kenny! Always good to hear from you
YT has removed my response to your response 2x now. I have no idea what I'm saying to trigger it so I'm not sure what to do to respond. I'm done.
That's crazy! Sorry that happened to ya.
Reminder, y'all have your toys now go get some Toys for Tot's! 🎁🎄
Totally right!
@OttoTheWeim you are so right.
How can this be he is not even sworn in yet
It's a warning Walmart for 2025 issued. It's not even for sure that he'll do it, or need to. Just enlightening hw collectors so there's understanding
You don’t know how tariffs work it’s to balance fair trade not for whisky drinking hot wheels dealers trying to get drunk
I enjoy more spirits than just whiskey, and equally in die-cast. Balance or leverage?
