I own this poncho and it is okay. It is very small and light, but as you can see when she has it on your arms are fairly exposed especially if using trekking poles. I only tend to use this poncho in very warm weather due my arms being soaked by rain and some water working its way in through the sides. I will also always carry a baseball cap when i take this poncho since the built in brim is fairly small and the brim of a baseball cap keeps more rain off of my face. That said due to the small size and light weight when I am day hiking and there is little or no rain expected this is the rain gear I carry most of the time. This works better if being worn over a backpacking pack but I also own a few frogg toggs ponchos and I like them quite a lot, they are a bit bulkier when packed but very comfortable and I feel like they generally keep my dryer. Also they are quite a lot cheaper. The short of it is if the weather is supposed to be nice I carry the sea to summit poncho since it adds minimal weight and bulk to my pack, but if I'm planning for rain I tend to take other heavier more bulky gear that keeps my more dry.
