Just the way the writers BREAK REX DOWN to his bare faults and show him no mercy, then give him his ideal life just to taunt him about how deep down he knows he didn’t EARN it unless he confronts those things within himself. It’s horrifying, and real. A great allegory. I love Rex as a character.

Because I have had no way to put to words how *wrong* that made me feel every time I watch it
Not a wrong feeling but just feeling that something is wrong, it's so uneasy, and he just can't keep up the facade until he cracks.
Malos really is the peak of dont judge a book by his cover.
He always seems like the generic douche asshole. But his sympathy and friend ship with jin was genuine. He acts like he never gives a shit but you can see how much things like jins death bothered him when hes speaking.
And the underlying factor of him simply hating himself so much (because of amalthus's infuence) that he doesnt even believe he can be anything else but the shit head he is. (Pyra: "cant you feel father pain? His sadness? Malos: " How could I?!.....That isent...my role in this world...)
The xb2 villains are honestly just peak.
And so , another masterpiece concludes.
XBC1 was magnificent, grandiose. A plot for the ages, full of twists and turns, mysteries and reveals, it was simply sublime.
XBC2 plays your emotions like a fiddle. It takes you places you didn't now existed, connects you to the cast, makes you FEEL, and destroys tear ducts.

I just wanted to say Kofy. Thank you for playing this game and enjoying it as much as you did. Your thoughts and emotions really made me smile while watching you because you cared about the characters, world, and story from the beginning to the end. This game is my absolute favorite game and to see you reacting so positively and emotionally really means a lot. This game makes you feel a wide range of emotions while doing a great job of being its own story while also being connected to the first one. I too reacted the same way you did. The pure emotions of excitement hearing the lore. The soul crushing sadness of all the deaths of the characters and their sacrifice. To the pure unbridle joy at the ending when the Core Crystal glowing to reveal a happy ending. All the way to the title screen where we can see our protagonist Rex hold hands with the women he loves while looking up from a new world. This game is a masterpiece to me and I will always remember it as the one game that shone light on my melancholy life. It shone brightly and touched my soul very deeply as I will never forget the adventure I went on around Rex, Pyra, Mythra, and the other casts in this game.
I can't wait to see your playthrough of Torna next and Xenoblade Chronicles 3 in the future. Hope to see you playing more games as well and I hope you will enjoy each one of them as much as you did with Xenoblade Chronicles 2.

I’ve give anything to see you react to playing a Metal Gear Solid game for the first time, starting with 1 of course. Maybe even going through the rest of the series after. Nobody ever plays it and does not love it. With the master collection out and made so much better, it deserves a look from anyone like you who loves characters and well done narratives.
