If you have relatives or connections in Canada that can guide your whole family there for a while when you first move there, then it can be a good decision. Other than that, it’ll be really challenging completely on your own as a whole family in a completely different country.

2nd question- Finding work in Canada. My parents migrated in their late 50s with us. My mom studied 1500 hours again here to get a cosmetology license. 40 is no age. Just plan before you move. In the beginning, it's okay tondonodd jobs later. You can move to your field.

Junaid, regarding the Canadian thing, I am the same Indian person in your askganjiswag#68 who moved to Canada on LMIA. For skilled labor, LMIA is never an issue as for tech workers, LMIA is issued under GTS (Global Talent Stream) which takes less than 10 working days to be issued, followed by a fastrack work permit under GSS steam. I just applied for jobs from LinkedIn and applied on company portal. As long as you have skills, you can ace jobs whether in Sweden and Canada (had founds jobs in both the countries from India).
You do not pay any penny from your pocket, infact company does all processing and even provides relocation and flight tickets. But regarding Canada, I would say be cautious. Canada is really expensive, my income comes in top 1 % of Canada and I still find it this country ridiculously expensive. Also, many engineering majors outside software, embedded, chip design struggle to find jobs there and even drive Uber (like biomedical, mechanical etc). Even for software, embedded and chip design the quality of work is mediocre, people with PhD do grunt level work in Canada. Also, Canadians are honestly less tolerant and accepting than Americans.
After moving back to India and then Canada, and knowing Sweden/UK/Australia, I can say there is no country in the world like the United States for tech and highly skilled workers. Since I have studied and worked in US for a decade, maybe I have some bias. But it's not just me, one of my Bangladeshi colleague (now Canadian) in Canada had negative opinion of US. He came to Canada in 2013, started working in 2015. He moved to US for 3 months for an assignment in October 2022. That guy was so impressed, he sold his house he got in 2021 and relocated to US permanently last month. 6 Canadians in my company have left for US since last year, 2 people working directly under me and half of them are white Canadians. For people in Pakistan, the good thing is they can immediately get US green card. For people born in India, due to high number of Indians in queue and country quota, it is impossible for me to get US green card. Even if someone moves to Canada, get your citizenship and move to US on TN visa. Canada, UK, Australia only want mediocre people or people to do labor jobs, if you are highly educated PhD or scholar, United states without a doubt.

Could you please guide me if a single person is coming to Canada through an agency and is willing to work there, minimizing personal expenses to send the majority of their earnings to Pakistan? Many of my friends have advised me to "go there and work two jobs (you can potentially earn a minimum of $2500 from each job), and your monthly expenses for groceries and living should not exceed $700. The remaining amount can be sent back to Pakistan.

@@hamzakhanzada3446 Go to Canada only if you want to settle there for good. Otherwise, if you only aim for money, do not want citizenship, its better to earn in UAE. Less tax and tickets to home will be cheaper. Canada is expensive and would be difficult to save there, not to forget high taxes.

You cannot survive with a family on $18/hr in Canada. With a 40 hour week this is about $2300 a month after taxes. If this job is near a metropolitan city you’ll pay at least 1500-1800 for a run down 1 bedroom basement. Car insurance, groceries, utilities will easily push you way over $2300. If both husband and wife are going to work then yes you might be able to pull it off. You definitely won’t be able to save anything and will probably have to dig into your existing savings if a big expense shows up.

I’m not sure who told you 700. I live alone and very frugally, I spent at least 1500. If you get a job in a major city expect to pay 2000+. You will live in shared accommodation and will have to cook yourself. As for finding a job, there are jobs. It all comes down to what your field is. I know there are certain companies in remote areas of Canada who are willing to sponsor you if you have good experience in a specialized skill. You need to do a lot of research. Also keep in mind if you get a job in a remote area, it very hard to live. You won’t have much of a social life and will live alone for the most part. I’m not trying to scare you here. Any move out of Pakistan is a win in my opinion but just be prepared for this.

I've been here decades and there's a Simple principle to follow for deciding whether or not to come to Canada.
The principle is: if you live in Pakistan and Own your home, you have a decent paying job/ or a good business , and you have a family.. do NOT move to Canada. Stay in Pakistan. It'll save you thousands of dollars and save you headache.
The situation in Canada is not as good anymore. Housing Situation is awful and everything is very expensive. Now unless you want to drown yourself in debt with high interest, then you're welcome to come here. But you seriously need to consider all factors

The minimum rent for one room is $600(in Alberta it
Is $600 and in ontario is $1000)Grocery for one person minimum is $200 to $300. Wifi and phone bill will be $100 and for buses you need a card for month that is $95 to $110 depending where u r living.
So I think for a single person the cost per month will be between $1000 to $1200.

To the 40 years old couple: In most countries working on visit visa is illegal. Considering miminum wage is $16 in Canada, you will not be paid any thing close to that specially when you are on visit visa. May be $8-$10 if you are lucky. This also means no insurance or health cover. Rather invest in learing some skills e.g Digital marketing and or any thing you can do remotely and utilise upwork or fiver.

Q no. 2 Getting a job on visit visa is not easy in Canada - people are selling LMIA for $50 k to $70 k - if you know a business there who is ready to adjust you for a job the. Give it a try - if not , then don’t burn your boats to come to Canada. It isn’t easy - Canada is going through a housing crisis and the weather wretches you - Canada isn’t easy - you should rather send your kids on student visas

I have living and working experience of Australia, UK and Saudi Arabia and now plan to move to Canada. If you want to live in Canada, you need to shed desi mentality and adopt gora mentality (they are 100 years ahead), this is first, 2nd it doesnt matter how old you are, get a Canadian degree/license etc and study in detail their job market and living expectations. Do your in-depth research before migrating and prepare yourself accordingly (mentally, physically and socially)

Never try this visit visa to work permit route.if you are worthy of getting a job based on your profession then you can get it from outside. If you do happen to come here and seek LMIA approved job, agents are taking bribes of $20-30k. And this too for minimum wage jobs. Its a closed work permit where you cannot work for any other employer. Housing here is so expensive that you'll be spending around $2k a month, over 4 lac rupees. You will burn through your savings in 2-4 months.

Bro I think I can add some point here.
You cannnot work on a visit visa, for that you will have to go through the same process, which is getting a work permit on the basis of an employement letter (if you get that in Canada, and this is different than LMIA) then, one can say yes to you for such moving.
Doosri baat ya mashwara yehi ha k move to any middle east country if you want some extra peace and saving, considering you can not take it anymore in Pakistan. I believe thats how you can save some extra money and live a peaceful life. Ask your kids to do their best and get you guys out in 4-5 years considering you will have enough saving while you are working in any of the middle east country.

No age is too much to move anywhere. The actual question is after moving you have to come out of denial phase that we were at such and such high positions and have to do meagre jobs to support life. As for Junaid’s question regarding housing in Canada, the selling market has been thru some downward change due to interest rates but the rental market is hot. If someone plans to come here keep in mind that the rental market is tough and not easy to get in and even if u get in 16 or 18$ jobs will not be a selection criteria for landlords to take u as a tenant. Good luck with that.
As for temporary visa, forst of all if u tell the embassey that u are going on visitor and will get work and work permit, thats a reject stamp , if u get lucky to get a visit visa, then these hounds called consultants and agents will be charging you an arm and a leg to give u LMIA. Please be careful while researching. Best is try to get into immigration so that u can have benefits of it from the day you land. I know one of my teachers who came in his 50’s and is doing okay. Best of luck with whatever comes ahead in life

All they need is an offer letter from US employer, drive/fly into US with Canadian passport. Canadian PR just need to stay in Canada for 3 years, get citizenship and kiss Canada goodbye. Employer generally starts green card process immediately (if they are really good employers), others do it within 1 year. If you born in non backlogged countries (except India/China), you can get US green card in 2 years. There is a joke nowadays among tech community that Canada has become waiting room for US.

One big problem!!! is that people(immigrants) with higher skills are targeting easy jobs and trying to enter comfort zone taking away the opportunty for those with lower skills and education.

The minimum wage in canada just hit 15 an hr. I doubt there ate low level jobs paying 18 an hr and quite frankly, not even 25 an hour is feasible to live a comfortable life. You should atleast be making 200k to live a solid life with possible savings. And thats hard because like jubaid said, there arent that many jobs available and ones that are, are low level and being taken over by indiian immigrants willing to get paid the snall bucks. Housing is crazy expensive. Great country if you already live there but to kove there now is not a good idea esp in yoir 40s and with a family, regardless of experience..
Full disclaimer, i speak only as a citizen of Canada who lived her whole life in Ontario. I heard other provinces east of it and Alberta is cheaper but you wont find as much of a desi community there as you would find in Toronto. Toronro is like home away from home which makes it very convenient for newcomers in that regard.

First of all, I don't know that maybe the fluency and flow that you speak as well as logically correct things that you say make me hooked to your videos. Most of the time I agree with your views.
If only the generation which saw Pakistan in the making and the next one realize and change their conservative views, the marriage problem of that doctor in KPK would have been solved long ago. I would advise that young man to start studying for PLAB or USMLE with a new quest for gaining advanced knowledge. A change in environment will change his mindset, one, and he will get a better bride in the years to come. The elders aren't wrong and I am not nullifying some of their time-tested views.
Secondly, as a dentist myself who smokes, I won't slightly agree with Junaid bhai's views on the smoking compromise. Let's say when I was in the UK, I used to see my 55 or 60 years old MSc supervisors drinking every single weekend, that too heavily. Nevertheless they were leading a fulfilling life and even one of them used to put on a tracksuit and jog across the campus every single day. Secondly, no one is perfect. I would go on to concede that makeup everyday exposes you to the same amount of industrial chemicals, carcinogens causing mutations in your melanocytes leading to skin cancer that is equally as devastating as lung cancer. So please I would say, do compromise a little bit. Maybe the positive qualities of the guy entice you to hook along with him for years to come.
Thirdly, the doctor on marijuana needs rehab in the US. Please don't go to rehab centers in Pakistan. There is no concept of proper psychology practice although there are ample psychologists. The problem in Pakistan is that the psychiatrists won't let psychologists succeed. This intention, which I have witnessed, is well rooted in the thought why should a psychologist succeed when I (psychiatrist) am a "real MBBS" doctor. That's why I would say go to the US such as Rhode Island, or research a good rehab center in Pakistan. I am a 100% sure that he will recover after having examined the dental problems of meth and heroin addicts who have successfully recovered. Marijuana is not that big deal if I compare it with meth and heroin. It's all in your head and all about a mindset change. So cognitive behavioural therapy? Well it's the guy's choice to continue marijuana or seek treatment. But one thing, let me tell you, marijuana will reduce the blood supply to your brain as well as the volume of white matter inside your brain in the very short term. I think this warning may be enough, put aside rehabs, to make you ditch marijuana.
Junaid Bhai said he is at a loss of words, so I thought I pitch in with my two cents and I hope my comment and suggestions may make a difference.
    Regards,
    Dr M Danial Khalid.

South Indians always communicate with others in English as they do not know Hindi but the same is not the issue with Pakistanis. I feel Pakistan is where India was 20 years ago. From fashion to eating habits to food, everything was copied from the west. You see a Salman Khan interview 20 years ago, he used fake english accent in his interviews, which is no longer the case. Perhaps that best reflects where Pakistan is right now. Atleast India continued to grow at 6-8 percent growth rate. How does Pakistan feel about that.
