My ex used the mentally ill thing for 14 years as an excuse not to do a thing and guess what? When I left and he had no choice, he was suddenly miraculously well enough to work. He made a fool of me for 14 years and ruined my life. Please don’t let this happen to you. Tell that man he needs to pull his weight or get down the road. Period. 😡

Why would you go negative in your account to bring your husbands account current? Your getting negative fees on both. I don’t see how that makes sense. Or how you are going to use a credit card to pay for gas when you made enough cash to pay for all of “your” bills, get gas.
Sorry if this comes off rude but help yourself before you can help him.

With all due respect, bringing your husband's account into positive balance territory is not remotely as important as ensuring you have enough money to pay that CC bill. And that Google Photo storage expense is a want, not a need, at this point. Those photos, no matter how much sentimental value they may hold, should not be a drag on your very precarious finances. And, I'll say this as a man, your husband better got off his @$$ and go find a job cleaning dishes or at a car wash drying cars. That is 100% unacceptable, that he gets to engage in some "side-hustle" while you go bust your ass at Marshalls. Side-hustles are for folks who have a job. It seems he has the idea completely backwards. I know my words are a tough, but y'all both got yourselves into your current predicament, and y'all both have a duty to get out of it together. And dude is most certainly not carrying his weight. No excuses.

I’m a married woman, a lot older than you. Thank you for sharing your story with us. I’m sure it will help many, and maybe some of the comments can help you and others as they read. It’s wonderful that your husband is talented, and you are right to encourage him. We immediately joined our finances upon marriage, same account all these years (28). Please consider a joint account where you both shoulder the financial weight and know what is going where and when. Hopefully it inspires him to create more, as well as work a day job while his music path continues to develop. Two oxen pulling the yoke in tandem will get you further and faster to your goal than two unequally yoked oxen pulling at different paces in different directions 🙏.

@ I understand your concern. During our marriage, one of us was the main bread winner. It always fluctuated sometimes me sometimes him, and now these days, it’s me. He has been medically disabled to a work injury however, he still contribute to the household with doing what chores he can do around the house and getting his disability money deposited. We are a team, and everything goes into the one account and we pay the bills, get what we both need, and what we both want. We feel like we’re married, and not just roommates.

@deathrowtodisneyworld5030 My husband and I each have our own bank accounts where our payroll goes into and we have a house account that we both contribute to pay the house bills. Bank accounts have nothing to do with how we feel about each other. We have been through homelessness, unemployment, severe illness, and substance abuse (mine), in the 17 years we've been together and have dealt with it all as a team. I always feel like fully sharing finances is where trouble starts. I always recommend that women have their own finances. ALWAYS.

With respect, why isn't your husband working? Especially now when seasonal help is needed everywhere? UPS is hiring at $20/hr in my area and Walmart will take on anyone. I work 2 jobs. One full-time corporate job that pays the bills, and another part-time at Walmart making $16/hr to pay down debt and school loans. I literally work 7 days a week. But, my husband also works 2 jobs. How do you keep the resentment from growing? Unless, he was injured or something preventing work, no sir, I'm not working this hard for you to dream about making it in the music business. You can dream and bring in an income at the same time.

good question, so we live with his mom and she works random days of the week but works friday sat and sun definitely every week. we don't have enough money to pay for day care, my job hours make it difficult for him to get a job, also I go to the community college in the mornings. Your husband needs to go to a temp agency and see if you can find something that he can deal with so you both can support yourselves and your children. He can find a job sitting down that isn't customer facing. It doesn't have to be full time but even just to contribute something. It's just too hard with so many people to feed. He could try applying for disability, but the payment might not be enough to support much. Doing it alone is too much.

Do you still have any survivalist items that you went into debt for that you could maybe sell on Facebook marketplace or Craigslist? Or any other unwanted items around the house? Try to flip and make some extra cash for the bills.

You forgot to put your husbands link in the description .... Also there is no shame in putting your cashapp or papal or whatever link to send money to you , cuz we all need help and if having an extra 30 dollars will help you out from being negative then please do it and every little bit helps so you dont keep falling into debt .

Do you go to your local food bank? Have you applied for SNAP benefits? There is a channel on UA-cam call "Living on a Dime to Get Rich". The woman isn't my cup of tea and there is a lot of Christian stuff but she does know how to save money. Hubby needs to get off his rear and get a job, any job.

People need to stop saying the husband needs to get a job their are plenty of women out there that don't have jobs that the men is taking care of them.

    • @alexarzamendi9475

And these men typically end up alone, divorced or unalive themselves because they realize they're absolute failures. It's okay for women because that's your role as a man, to provide. Your woman provides you a legacy and you provide security. Imagine your woman giving you 2 children and you being unable to provide even the smallest of comforts for her to try and be a "rapper". Lol, lmao even 😂😂

Call the local high school and ask them to do oil changes and tune ups. You just get a list of supplies and drop it off. Local churches do the same. Call around.
