Rogerrrrr
Fun fact: Roger locked himself in a closet for hours and refused to go out until the rest of the band accepted I'm in love with my car as the B side of Bohemian Rhapsody single, which they finally did for obvious reasons. So, since Bohemian Rhapsody is their second most selled single ever (just after Another One Bites the Dust), Roger got as much credit (and money) as Freddie for the single.
Also, I'm really enjoying your reactions, personally love how you give your honest opinion and just let the songs flow into you. Keep it up!
More Of That Jazz is another fun Roger song
"here come Roger, Lord have mercy" Me too, bro, me too😂
No but seriously its WILD how good Roger sounds.
A critic once said their harmonies were suspiciously good. Roger said it’s because they rehearse! And he may have called the citric an expletive.
lol
🤣
Good for Roger!🙄
Seguramente, Roger nunca ha sido el más diplomático de los cuatro 😂😂,me encanta su voz
roger had his own band, you should look it up,
Freddie called it ‘routining’. We call it rehearsing. Freddie insisted routining was important. So it was, making the four of them give perfect performances.
I have to giggle every time I see that phrase.
Roger has a wide range of voice styles.
He had an angelical falsetto until the early 80s or late 70s. He has the rock'n'roll voice of Queen, that raspy voice. He has also an amazing "calm" voice, which is more prominent in his solo songs
You should watch the 20 minute version of the making of one vision to see how they worked together. ❤️❤️
You should do Old Friends by Roger, it's his tribute to Freddie. They always rehearsed but they fought alot too. Music was the life they chose to do and they did it well. Imagine Freddie singing backup for yo😂
Queen rehearsed a lot. And all four were nightmare level perfectionists.
Roger is AMAZING if you would like to hear how high he could sing try In The Lap of The Gods (not the revisited one same title two completely different songs they finished the concert with the revisited song) from The Rainbow 1974 great reaction ❤ at 73 years old his voice is still the same love Roger ❤
Yes definitely! I love watching reactions to the dog whistle
Your question about did they rehearse is funny in a way, it shows how much things have changed in a short period of time. Before the internet, cell phones, and social media there was not a lot to do with your spare time so those who played music rehearsed bc they loved to rehearse, it was a cool thing to have a band and practice in the garage or a friends barn, if you were an artist like Me, you painted everyday, dancers danced, life is different now.
Finally someone who gives Roger his props!! If you want to hear Rogers falsetto you should react to “In the lap of the gods” live at the rainbow 1974. Rogers falsetto is out of this world! Most of the songs Roger wrote he also sang and there’s a lot out there. “Drowse, and tenement funster, are two of my favorite Roger songs along with I’m in love with my car. Great reaction! I love to see how much you love Queen!!
The band always reheares they wanted to make sure they got it down tight. Great reaction.
Four world class musicians coming together in perfection. Roger was a beast on the drums and vocals, and he and Brian still going strong well into their seventies. Rest In Paradise beautiful Freddie 🥁🎤🎹🎸🙏👑♥️
I first saw Queen in 1975 and I was hooked! 🥰
Oooooh...That's lit...❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥I've never heard this....Wow..thanks for this..❤️
Great reaction!! Please react to “Rock It (Prime Jive)”. Roger wrote the song and comes in to sing the main part after Freddie sings the intro. Freddie’s vocals are amazing on his part and Roger’s vocals are amazing on his part too. You’ll really enjoy it. 💕💜💕💜💕💜
Peter "ratty" Hince was Freddie and John's roadie. He wrote a book about his time with the band called Queen Unseen. I highly recommend it to any Queen fan. Just before the show drinks for the band were placed: Beer and water for Freddie, beer for Roger and Brian, and the Backstage Bar for John comprising water, beer, soft drinks, whatever spirits he liked at the time, usually Southern Comfort, vodka or tequila and mixed nuts and M&Ms. The bar was discreetly located beside his electronics control rack where he could turn the volume up and a drink down. Freddie had champagne glasses but never champagne, they always had water. Peter tried giving Freddie Perrier once when the water was a weird colour but Freddie cursed him saying the bubbly water made him burp. After an accident with a champagne glass they changed to plastic dixie cups for Freddie. Freddie would also sip hot tea with honey and lemon if his throat was bothering him and always sucked on Strepsils throat lozenges before a show. I've always thought Roger was incredibly underrated especially since no one could see him singing behind the drums. The 70s albums were full of his incredible high notes. He went to private school (called public school in England)on a choral scholarship. The Rainbow 1974 concert has some crazy high notes from him in The Lap of the Gods and Ogre Battle especially. Thanks for showcasing his incredible talent!
Freddie said Roger had the dog whistle voice.
It so funny when Roger sings "I'm in love with my car" you can haer Freddie sing "Ooh yes he is"😂
"I'm in Love with My Car" and "Bohemian Rhapsody" are on _A Night at the Opera_ , their 4th album, not the 2nd. Roger calls "I'm in Love with My Car" a "nightmare of singing and drumming at the same time" because he has to try and breathe, too. From the many interviews with Roger and Brian over the years, it seems most of the drinking was done back stage, not on-stage. In all the concerts I have watched (and one I attended), I have never seen Brian, Roger, or John take a drink off the piano. Freddie drank tea with honey and lemon. He said he did not drink beer during shows because he did not want to burp. It is important to know that a lot Lot LOT happened backstage. Brian has said, "Don't ask." Not sure I want to know anyway!
I believe he wrote I'm in love with my car in 3/4 time to make it easier for him to drum and sing at the same time
John had a cocktail bar for himself behind his speakers
Truth on the 3/4 time. People don’t think about this but you have to structure these shows to account for the fact that you are a human being w some physical limitations. Like in the live aid show - there’s a reason why Crazy Little Thing is in the middle of the set. Freddie needs to pace himself as that is a straight 20 minutes of music. Putting that guitar on him forces him to slow it down - and it’s an easy breezy fun tune so he can catch his breath to kill the last two songs. I don’t know how the hell Roger drums like that AND sings - half the time he’s also turning his head to sing into the mic in some of these shows… !?! 😅
I grew up from 1975 at the age of 4.from my older sisters back in Glasgow Scotland. This is music and talent..the greatest showman of all time.
Everyone is in love with Roger, but Roger is in love with his car.
they were always rehearsing and Freddie, all of them really were perfectionists and you can tell that. When they did live aid, they were only 12 seconds over their allotted time.
MMB, I was lucky enough to see Queen live in 1980 and 1982 (which turned out to be their last U.S. tour with Freddie).
Yeah, they rehearsed. If you type in youtube "Queen rehearsal " you'll find a couple of videos. Them rehursing for Live Aid and for the Magic Tour. Check them out and will make great reaction videos
To get the full song live check out I'm In Love With My Car Hammersmith 1979...one of his best performances of this plus you get a couple of oh yeah and alright from Freddie. Rogers voice just slices through your soul ♥️👑🥁🎤
There's a song that is a tribute to Freddie, Brian and Roger each sing a verse. The song is "No One But You (Only the Good Die Young)" As to the beer, probably whoever isn't singing had the beer. I suspect they all followed Freddie's lead in not wanting to risk burping into the mic during a performance, it would be disrespectful to the audience.
watch the extended version of One Vision. It will show you how they made a recording. Also, the video of the tribute song Brian wrote for Freddie. Brian, Roger sing and John is playing for the last time with Queen.
I love this medley so much. Brian really kills it taking it from Killer Queen into I'm In Love With My Car and of course Roger smashes that song every time. He still sings it on tours but does not play drums anymore while singing it, he comes to the front of the stage. The song is actually a bit longer on the studio version, I think one more verse but I love the energy of this performance. Don Henley of the Eagles and Phil Collins Genesis and solo are both also singing drummers but nobody pounds the skins like Roger while singing. Dave Grohl of Nervana and Foo Fighters also is a singer and drummer but I don't recall him singing lead while drumming so I am not able to confirm if he does that or not.
I can't believe we're at that day and age where Queen is no longer about theatrics xD that hilarious.
Roger was massively underrated. Queen and frankly all the major bands of their era, were good because they worked incredibly hard. No autotune and other vocal and instrumental cheats. Talent and hard work, period.
Love that clip as much as you do. Am a zing.
🤣🤣 I love this song! Good ol’ Roger!! What is it with cars and the ladies??
“Cars don’t talk back .. “ Hahaha!! Thank you! 🏎💨
Try Rogers solo stuff. He just put out a live double CD of the mini tour he did in the fall o2021. It is so good and he can still sing. I recommend it highly!
Top notch musicianship within Queen kept them tight.
You should check out Roger's vocals on My Fairy King from their 1st album. Mind blowing.x
Please react to the making of “ One vision“ it really shows their creative process in the studio.
You’re correct about Roger.
Brian also has a great voice.
Thanks for the reaction. Roger has a unique voice . They are all so very talented. You really don't see to many bands where all the members can sing. To hear more of Roger may I recommend Another One Bites the Dust live at Wembley 1986. They all are great together which makes the band awesome, but Freddie and Roger are pretty good in this one also. I love your reactions and thanks again.
Yes as others have said, they rehearsed a lot. They were tight, and yet they weren’t choreographed. Freddie especially was very spontaneous with his movement on stage.
Roger is the best. There’s a clip of a show on UA-cam where Roger totally zoned out & forgot the lyrics & Freddie sang the verse.
Roger has lead vocals also on Modern Times Rock n Roll off the 1st album and Tenement Funster off of Sheer Heart Attack. I saw Queen 3 times between 1975-78. Concerts were much more affordable then. I saw Led Zeppelin in 1973 in Atlanta for $5 (about equal to $45 dollars now).
I am one of those people who missed Queen. They came to Portland in 1982 and I didn't even know. I was 18, college student, no money for food let alone things like concerts, so I didn't even look. If I'd known, I would have begged for money on the street to get a ticket. I've been a fan since 1975, and yes, you're right about how missing them feels. I went to London this past June to see Brian and Roger, so at least I have that. Of course it's not the same, but it was what I could do now. Roger still kills on "I'm in Love With My Car", BTW, even at 73.
Rumors from all 3 Brian, Roger and Adam that they are getting a tour together for the US. Brian said they will be pulling the trigger soon. I haven't seen them live yet so definitely going.
@@valogden If you can go, just do it. Pack yourself in a crate and have yourself shipped there if you have to (not really of course). If they come here, I'm going to try to go to at least two shows. Seeing Queen in 82 would have been one of the best moments of my life, but I still created another "best" in June in London.
I'm hoping if they tour here they do some Vegas shows. It's a 6 hr drive or just over an hour flight. Saw Adam there in October and it was so much fun! I have tickets to Pink there in October so my fingers are crossed.
@@valogden I would go to Vegas. Honestly I would go anywhere just about.
I’ve been a fan since I was a toddler and unfortunately Freddie had already passed and John had left by the time I was born. My grandparents always tell me stories of being at their concert and I’ve always been devastated that I will never be able to experience seeing them live. I hope to see Brian live one day though
They were mostly props during live shows . Freddie said in an interview he would not drink beer during his performance as he would not want to burp to his Audience 😂😂 Freddie had honey and lemon in the cups you did not see through to help his vocal cords . You won’t see the other guys drinking in a live performance either. Oh don’t get me wrong they all had a drink or two when they could.
Rumors are Queen is planning on touring in the US in 2023. I'm definitely planning on attending! was and still rehearse for their shows. They leave nothing to chance with all members having a personal tech person near them to fix anything that may come up so it's seamless. Roger really has a great voice and I really love the version that he and now Adam play at their shows. They also have the 3 other members Spike Edney keyboards, Tyler Warren drums and percussion and Neil Fairclough bass. They are excellent musicians and singers too. Spike has been touring with Queen since 1984 and volunteered to do backup vocals. The extra background singers really give the band fuller sound.
Queen rehearse a lot, always give their best and 100%. They all giged together while at university.
Perfect clip..
They did work together a lot in rehearsal. But they actually played out all the time, local London shows and small tours around pubs and small halls around the UK.
Check out OLD FRIEND .. Roger’s tribute to Freddie! 😢
And, GET DOWN MAKE LOVE .. from same concert!
Yep, straight to the point! SUBBED. 🎉
If you want a good Roger solo song I suggest Good Times are Now. There are many more, but that one is relentless.
Queen were tighter than quadruplets in the womb when on the stage
Song suggestion .. Janis Ian's "Society's Child" ... interracial discussion in 1967 .. this will hit you hard
You definitely should check out in the lap of the gods at the rainbow 74, Rodgers vocals are insane
There’s no way they didn’t rehearse religiously. No matter how talented you are it’s not possible to play like this without rehearsing together so much that you know how each other plays - inside and out. It’s the ONLY WAY you get that good! A great musician never stops rehearsing.
Roger has a 4 octave vocal range like Freddie
You should listen to: What Makes This Song Great? Ep.107 QUEEN (Feat. Brian May). Rick Beato's critique of B H
Roger 8th greatest drummer in rock history
Listen to In the lap of the Gods
MMBxMOB--shamefully I committed that crime :-( Hoping beyond hope that QAL tour the USA in 2023!
You can get some of the feel for behind the scenes Queen with ua-cam.com/video/XssPitrqOXM/v-deo.html which is sort of a making of "One Vision".
One of the reasons their Live-Aid set was so good was how much they practiced in order to fit the most in 20-minutes ua-cam.com/video/pyuIlQj-RhA/v-deo.html
Jeff buckley Grace live at BBC would be a great reaction. He's an incredible vocalist.
Love the song, just never knew the name of the song. Ever react to the Yard Birds? Rolling Stone Magazine named 3 of the guitar players Eric Clapton, Jeff Beck and Jimmy Page 3 of the best top 5 guitar players. Clapton left when he thought they were getting away from Blues and becoming a pop band. Clapton considered "For Your Love" pop lol, not me. Later Beck left to start his own career. I think Clapton joined another great band called Cream. You should react to "Sunshine of Your Love" or "White Room" and others I don't recall off the top of my head/ Sorry for taking up so much space.
I sub to anyone who likes Rogers voice So i just subbed
Queen still tours. Adam Lambert does a great job on vocals for Freddie.
react to the full live aid
to keep yourself alive
to in the lap of the gods live at the rainbow
I have so many of Roger's CD's. His music is wonderful and actually a lot deeper lyrically than most Queen music. My favorite is this one: ua-cam.com/video/-zsrqNAwsbM/v-deo.html. There is a live version but the audio is messed up. You might also be impressed by the Japanese drummer/pianist Yoshiki. He is amazing in this.
You’re gonna love Highway Star by Deep Purple. It is the ultimate drive song!
Yeah I’ve reacted to it! I LOVE IT
Check out Queen Official for Roger and Brian's amazing solo work...plus interviews, documentaries etc ..👑♥️🥁🎸🎹🎤
ROGER SOUNDS LIKE ROD STEWART. BUT I DOUBT THAT ROD CAN PLAY THE DRUMS LIKE HIM. OR NOT MANY CAN PLAY THE DRUMS LIKE ROGER.
THEY WERE TRUE ARTISTS, THEY DIDN'T HAVE AUTO TUNE OR LIP SYNCH. THEY WERE NOT FAKE LIKE THE BANDS ARE NOWADAYS.
Roger sings in a falsetto. While it may sound fabulous, he lacks the power and ability to throw his voice. However, I give credit where it is due. He sounds fantastic and drums amongst the top 5 musicians.
you know Rogers son is a very good drummer and he now hits harder than Roger. He is called Tiger Taylor
MMBxMOB... it's way beyond "sounding tight". It's such GREAT MUSIC, SO WELL ARRANGED, AND SO POWERFULLY PERFORMED.
It's a LOT of really great stuff going on. People might say, "OH! Dave Matthews Band - TIGHTEST RHYTM SECTION EVER!!!!"... lol! No.
Dave Matthews Band didn't write this great stuff and was just BORING, PERIOD.
However, if you really wanta hear a TIGHT band, ... then you MUST really get to know Steely Dan! Plus, their music is great (sorry, Dave Matthews Band fans, not sorry...)
This is sped up.....why?
Get rid of the echo will ya. Ta.
Good lordy... one of those echo arenas. Shame.
Make the artists screen larger. You don't need to be.
