Great live band, even sounded great on TV too.
Glad they live on UA-cam. Many of them to discover.
As long as we have youtube, we do.
Even if we had em, the era was one time deal, wouldn’t be the same.
We went from finger snapping Top 10 soft rock and accepted 100 year old traditional haircuts to long hair. Button down collars and Penny loafers to Beatle boots and Nehru jackets, whole new aspects…….overnight (it seemed).
No men wore any type necklace and then-boom, big peace signs, ear rings and gold chains.
Like being launched into a new realm, world at warp speed.
You had to be ‘there’ and as they say “been there, did it” (only the boots for me).
Sal Valentino had a great voice , he is pushing 80 today so don't know how his voice is now
Another fantastic song from 1965! The mid-60’s were the greatest era in Rock Music!
yeah, really ;-) from Korea
Subjectively -- ABSOLUTELY!! The British Invasion and Motown! :-) :-) :-) :-) :-)

By far the very best era for music. These were my teen age years.
YES to THAT... GLAD you enjoyed the video : )
The Beau Brummels were a great band from the mid sixties. Sure takes me back to hear these songs.
What a beautiful song.
The music fron the summers of '64, 65, 66, 67 and 68 has aged gracefully. Great time to have been in Jr High and high school! Great cars and fabulous music..... Just A Little peaked at #8 in 1965.
This band was amazing and very underrated!! I was about 3 years old when this song came out but as a music lover and searcher for real talent and raw music, this band blows me away!!! Thanks for the awesome music today Beau Brummels!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Like they were a 2 hit wonder.
"Underrated"?...probably not.
It's 2023, I'm 26, I play in rock and metal groups from the age of 16 but these kind of songs make me feel homesick about times I wish I could live. Absolutely unmatched from the 60's music

One of my favorite songs of the 60's.
Robert Keefer same here!.Very talented
Mine as well
One of the best songs of the 60s
I was very lucky to meet Sal Valentino, sent to me by a young neighbor of his. He sang to me while I cut his hair at the salon I worked in and interviewed him for the local newspaper! 🤣 He brought a beautiful bouquet of flowers to my work when the article was published.💐🌹 Love his music! Thanks Sal!
He did a cover of Elliott Smith's Between the Bars which was stellar, but I don't see it on youtube anymore.😢
As a young teenager, this song captivated me. It inspired my love of vocal harmony.
All these decades later, it still does.

I love the vocals in this group. Plus that guitar effect, too. Great song.
Matt Grebenik Good Song but it could have been Much better if their Singing Harmonies were in Tune. This is one of the Many ways that The Beatles DESTROYED copy Band's ( Genius, writing, Production, and Perfection!!)
@@JamesBond-ml3zp Beatle fan club President ♥️
Agreed!
They're harmonies give the song a natural, raw touch that I think makes you feel as if you're in the room with them. It's imperfect beauty.
What a great band and so underrated.
Great song!
Used to listen to these guys when they played the Morocco Room on the el Camino real in San Mateo back in the day. I was 18 or 19 at the time and used a fake I D to get in (with no photo). They were great live and did one of the best versions of Louie Louie I’ve ever heard. I miss those days and am getting more nostalgic with age BUT would never want to go back
Loved those days.
if you don't mind me asking, why wouldn't you like to go back?
I loved this band. I would gladly go back because I lost my wife seven years ago and I’d give anything to have her back.
Another great and song and band from my teenage years. I feel so lucky to have had so many wonderful songs and talented artists that filled those years with music.
what do you think of todays music?
Ditto to that
Daniel M I don’t like today’s music because it’s meaningless.
what a great time to be a young teen in spite of civil unrest and Vietnam. So many really good to great groups who produced such wonderful music, and not only did we listen on our transistor radios, but got to see them many times on tv shows e.g. Shindig, American bandstand, Ed Sullivan, Where the action is and more. Truly the last of the best times.
now it's a musical wasteland.
always enjoyed their harmonies....
Can't help but think of Maureen when I listen to their songs, it is a long story
She was my very first love, she left a mark on my heart that will never go away. I just made the story short
Wow. We had our music. Just once in a lifetime.

Happy New Year...2020, still this sounds great. Many memories from my "coming of age" time. Yes, I'm getting older, as we all are🤔🎶🎶📺
Miss Brown: Your right, this is one of the best songs of the 60s. I haven't heard it since and just happened to find this. We're all getting older, but I must say Miss Brown, it looks like "older" completely missed you. Be Blessed.

Brings back lot's of memories,
Most under rated band of the 1960s.
With good reason!
I can't stay, yes I know
You know I hate to go
But goodbye, love was sweet
Our worlds can never meet
So I'll cry just a little 'cause I love you so
And I'll die just a little 'cause I have to go
Away
Can't you see how I feel
When I say love's unreal
So goodbye, it's been sweet
Even though incomplete
So I'll cry just a little 'cause I love you so
And I'll die just a little 'cause I have to go
Away
Every night I still hear
All your sighs very clear
Now love's gone, gone away
As I once heard you say
Now I've cried just a little 'cause I loved you so
And I've died just a little 'cause I had to go away
Ahh... ahh... ahh... ahh...
Let me jog my memory folks..Fall 1965...I was a freshman at Rock Valley College and this album was released.I had heard this song many times on WLS Chicago AM radio. I went to the local big box dept. store [ Union Hall] where they sold new LP albums for 3.00 dollars plus tax.NOT AVAILABLE !....So I went downtown to a record store and bought it for 5.00 dollars. Yikes!.. price increase..but , I had the album...still have same !.I am still enough alive to hear it ! ..still sounds great ! God Bless ..db
GLAD you enjoyed the video : ) Yes I remember those days of WLS in Chi-Town and I remember those prices. I used to go to a record "Discount Store" and could get most new releases for about $2.77 to $3.25 each. Not bad considering... BUT - to put this all in perspective. I put 1965 dollars into an inflation-adjusting calculator and Lo & Behold, that $5 album would cost you OVER $ 43 in todays money.. YIKES Indeed...!!! LOL... -Stay Well
I wonder what percentage of the population thought they were a British Invasion group. Maybe about half in ‘65 that listened to pop/rock I’d imagine. They weren’t British at all-they were American.
More than half just guessing, as I remember. Some American bands gave the Beatles vibe to them. Trendy thing to do.
I used to think they were British too.
I grew up with this group, loved it then and still do!!! Awesome!!
amen
Awesome to know Sly Stone produced this song for the Beau Brummels
Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh....thanx, haven't heard this in ages !!!👍

I think I like this song even better than their other big hit "Laugh, Laugh."
That happens to me much of the time, lol. My face Blues Magoos song is "Gotta Get Away" instead of "We Ain't Got Nothing Yet".. by a slim margin. So you ain't the lone ranger. Cheers man, you have good taste.
James, I Agree With You, I Like This Song More Than Laugh, Laugh!!!
P. S. James, You Do Have Good Taste...!!!
They were out of San Mateo, Cali. They played many a HS teen club in the Bay Area, including my alma mater, Cupertino High.
Ron Elliot (guitar) and Sal Valentino (lead vocals) were both from San Francisco. Sal attended Sacred Heart High School; Ron attended my alma mater, St. Ignatius High School. Ron Meagher (bass) was born in Oakland, CA. They did play the Morocco Room in San Mateo, CA before they got a record deal with Autumn Records, a record company started by two local disc jockeys, Tom Donahue and Bobby Mitchell, at KYA radio station in San Francisco. The record producer on their early recordings was Sylvester Stewart-later known as Sly Stone of Sly and the Family Stone. Sly also worked as a disc jockey at radio station, KSOL which, at the time, was a soul station in San Francisco.
I was a big fan of the Beau Brummels back in the mid-1960s. I still have one of their first albums. Anyway, after I was in Vietnam for the war, I was stationed with the 6th Army aviation at the Presidio of San Francisco, and my wife and I lived in Sausalito, CA, which was near where the group got started. I spent many days in San Mateo and Menlo Park, CA from 1969-71. My best friend lived in Pacifica, CA and I even worked a part-time job at Westlake Pizza back then (bartender). I knew this group was from the San Francisco area but I had no clue that I was right there in "their neighborhood." This is one of their songs that got so little respect, but it was a big hit back in my hometown in Central Pennsylvania.
actually, they were from Hollywood. So-Cal rock band
@@Paulvon128 Uh, no.
I saw them in Monterey California on a revival tour in the early 80s.Packed house. They were awesome but knuckleheads in the audience kept asking for a Love Potion Number 9. That was not their song nor their style but they played it anyway! Class act.
The song I cry just a little is a awesome and excellent song and I love this song and have added it to my playlist. They are so amazing.
The Big Hurt ( Toni Fisher) is another innovative sound. Both sound innovative to me. Love them both in their own right.❤❤❤❤❤🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉 5 stars

Truly a song of what was to come.... Women, can't live with or without them.
I remember seeing this band frequently as a house / bar band on the TV soap opera "Never Too Young" which came on right after Dick Clark's "Where the Action Is". Whenever the actors went to a bar as part of the script, there were The Beau Brummels playing in the background. On the other hand "Dark Shadows" never had a band play in their series.

Nope the Calif. movement.

I also received my first Holy Communion back in May of '65 when I was still in second grade. To me, 1965 was just another ordinary childhood year for me.
It was also the year that my favorite show of all time, Green Acres, first debuted on CBS. However, I didn't become a Green Acres fan until the Molly Turgiss episode in April of '66.

Thank you. In fact, I just love the music of the 60's. I'm 61 years old and it's the music of my childhood right here! I grew up on this music. I don't care if it's getting close to 2019! Sixties music rules!
I first started listening to this music on a regular basis when I was just in fourth grade. I listened to the Boss Jocks on Famous 56, WFIL, here in Philly.
This may also sound crazy, but I look at pictures of my very favorite actress and the idol of my youth, Eva Gabor, while listening to this music! I did it as as a kid, and I still do it today at age 61.
Here on my cellphone, I have two albums loaded with pictures of her. One is from the Green Acres days; both on and off the set. And the other one was when she was going out with Merv Griffin.
My very favorite pictures of her from that time period was when she was photographed wearing a light-colored print strapless gown, a choker necklace, tiny droop earrings, a satin stole, perfectly styled hair, and a very sexy smile She was married to Wall Street stockbroker and Filmways TV vice president Richard Brown when she did Green Acres.
But over the last three years, I have been looking at pictures of her with Merv Griffin while listening to my cassette tapes of these weekend oldies shows that I taped off of the Philadelphia radio stations during the period that they were both dating; which is from 1985 and on into the 90's. I took some of those tapes with me to Los Angeles in October of 2015 and I listened to them right there in my hotel room. And this spring, I will be taking these same tapes with me to Miami, San Francisco, Honolulu, and of course, Los Angeles. It just makes me
Yeah- the funniest sitcom, anyway.
EARTH ANGEL ♥️. DON’T THINK IT’S EASY TO SING IN TUNE, AND PLAY THAT TAMBOURINE AT THE SAME TIME!!!👍♥️💕
Great song. A happy memory.
The bridge section (flamenco/massive guitar) is awesome
Yes, very catchy!!! I love it.....
This one and "Laugh Laugh" are my favorites from the band, but I recently discover other excellent songs of theirs, like "She loves me" and "They'll make you cry", and I'm surprised how underated these ones are...

Sad you didn’t learn band names. I always had to know the names of bands since the mid Fifties, and have always wanted to know who the songwriters were… always felt that without the writers we wouldn’t have the songs. Unfortunately, now at 75, too many names of songs, writers and lyrics, don’t spring to mind as quickly as they used to… 🙈

I don't care what anyone says, Rap was used deliberately to destroy the American music culture and it's still be using used to do the same. What other genre of "music" has lasted 35 years? Hell young people (i.e. 20) music as old fashioned.
@@indy_go_blue6048
I'm on to you. I know the type. Least a good guess: Latter day old Southern white man AKA MAGA?
Posted above, this also applies to you and others like you:
"Stop the BS. There is excellent music today. It's (their) music. Don't do that "old white man" thing. :-)
"I'm an old white man, and The British Invasion and Motown is MY life's music for the vastness.
"Fair enough? I think so?
"Peace. :-)"
I'm not a big fan of rap and hip hop, but some of the lyrics speak to the horrors of systemic racism and other social ills perpetrated against minority individuals and communities, along with serious social problems within their communities. That being similar in ways to folk and protest music of the 1950s, 60s and 70s. The styles and beats don't play and sound to this old white man as such sounds of those long past years. The words though, are currently as meaningful to those who wrote them and to those who relate to them.
I understand. Do you now? I much hope so. :-)
Oh yea, The Beatles made the best music in the history of the universe, and beyond. Whatever the hell that meant ha ha.
No hate, man, Peace! :-)

Oh, the 60s. 🤗
They made their musical mark !
Love it ,good memories.
People say that this is the most underrated band in the 60's. Many bands were. That's because the population really has know say. People that control the profits decide what hits the charts. I can't count how many songs on so many albums that have great sound that you never hear. In the past you hear one to 3 songs on an album. I found there were many songs on albums much better than the chosen hits.

They were stifled by their record company. By 66 they wanted them to record an album of top ten hits by other artists. They made a great album 'Bradley's Barn' in 1968 of originals. 'Turn Around' is a great song, it's on youtube
