I’ve owned 2 FK8s and they certainly do not feel uncontrollable around corners. Quite the opposite, I can take corners double or triple the posted limit and it feels confidence inspiring and completely planted. That’s what this car is all about, its track handling capabilities. It’s also not all over the place in a straight line at 6k rpms. The torque steer is non existent like it is in other FWD cars. Dude you need some new tires or something. I’m coming from every RWD sports car you can think of and it handles better than most of those. It doesn’t feel weird being FWD, that’s in your head dude. It makes max torque at like 2500 rpms, mine doesn’t have a sudden power burst at 5k rpms. It pulls super hard down low and remains constant until redline. This car doesn’t have the old school VTEC from the 1990s. It only has exhaust cam VTEC. The old Hondas had intake and exhaust cam VTEC. I think you came into this review with a preconceived notion about Hondas because almost everything you said is the exact opposite of how the car actually is lol.
This was entirely my first impression based on the driving feel and experience. It absolutely corners very well as mentioned, but 100% it felt a lot crazier in a straight line acceleration than a RWD car. Not everytime, but sometimes it was a battle with keeping the car straight. This one had Pilot Sports 4s and 600 miles on the car so it was new. I'm not saying this is bad, it's just a very different feeling from a RWD car.
i am planning to buy this model FL5. Can you recommended a good dealer to buy from and how much should i pay buying new. So many are asking 7k markups over MSRP
It would be interesting for you to try driving a eighth or 9th gen Civic SI so you could get the experience of torque steer and have a much more enjoyable engine note in a front wheel drive car that you can drive hard. As fast as the Type R is, the torque steer on the SIs are much worse because they don't have that steering knuckle or whatever it is that's aligned the same way.
It's not the same bro, this is a comfortable daily driver that you can take to the track and looks great. Not everybody wants a fast 💩box. And I say that as a guy with a 240sx lol, anybody can put a big turbo on a rusty gutted shell and go fast in a straight line with no a/c. Learn to respect both worlds and you will be more mature.
the car is definitely worth its price if it was RWD the front wheel drive has a few flaws like drift and when you floor a car the front rises a bit and wheel looses traction
I’d definitely pay 46k it’s a nice car and unique and it’s fast and it’s a Honda this will last many many years so you will definitely get your money worth
Question for all the Honda guys or people considering this. Why not get a Mk7 or Mk8 GTI? Most trims have big ventilated brakes and a LSD stock. The stock turbo can make 330 bhp and 370 ft/lbs at the crank with a flash tune and a downpipe. It is available with a manual and DSG transmission that are both very capable. Upgrading the rear sway bar can make the cars extremely neutral. Upgrading the turbo to a Golf R turbo can produce about 400hp/400 flt lbs at the crank and moves the power band up top, it's also relatively inexpensive. These two generations are very reliable too (outside maybe first model year for each gen). Why spend extra money on this? It's pretty but a lot of $$$
@@dannyhaim9359 I had a six speed and yea out of the box it wasn’t the best. A dog bone insert cleaned it up a lot. There are a few other cheap mods that help a bunch too.
Not sure if you can get these for MSRP yet. For MSRP I would definitely get one. For anything over. No way sorry the car is barely worth MSRP 46k. Anything more you're silly if you paid 5 or 10 k markup.
Yeah, every dealer is different. I was able to snag one for 44.5k but this was a middle of nowhere dealership and not your typical city area dealership (Kansas).
$46k brand new? BRUH 😂. I bought a fully loaded Genesis g70 with the 3.3T motor used with only 4,000 miles for $46k.... This car is wayyyy overpriced. I think at most this car should cost $40k... After taxes and stuff at $46k it becomes $50k... That is luxury performance car price range, something this car is not
As much as I personally want a G70 Infiniti I also need a reliable daily driver and most of the research I've done doesn't have a lot of good to say for reliability
Just took delivery of my 2025 and WOOOW WHAT A MACHINEEE! Blessed to have such a car at this age🙌🏽
The mark up on these is crazy lol, still a great car though 🤩
It’s changing because there are a good amount of new and used ones out there for sale.

I have an 06 Si and I agree. She drives amazing even after all these years. She's never leaving my hands god forbid
Lowkey only car reviewer i actually enjoy watching
Awh thank you so much. I'll keep em coming!
5:09 9:40 10:07 accelerations
Sorry but I’d rather put $10k in my 8th gen Si and blow the doors off those new Type R! Lol
Won’t turn like a type r though
@@coolest.collectormine does! Lol. I already have full racing suspension.

The golf is a much harder car to drive. Shifting that car is tough

Felt good smoking one of these with a punk teenager driving it. Smoked him with a 13 year old Audi S4 that cost $12k lol
how the fuck will it change engine sound
I bought it for MSRP.
Grear car. Paint is weak AF, so get PPF. I wish i did lol.
Chips ?
The first civic to not be available in Norway 😢… car is to expensive after tax. 60k +35k in taxes… looking at basically95-100k for a civic type r.
Still waiting for Honda to sell these at msrp.
Honda sells them below msrp. It’s the greedy dealer and boneheads willing to pay $75k

@@Drazzalin. I’ve called nationwide without success. I’m willing to travel
Jeff Wyler Honda Ohio has a few of them for 46k a piece. Friend of mine just snagged one from there. Like 5 models on hand.@@trigganometry168
Honda are made for track cars
I’ll buy it for $2 million it’s a Honda

Exactly lol even the si 10th gen handles on rails in stock form alone honda did magic on that generation and 11th gen
No.

You're forgetting about the dealership markup of roughly 15k in most places. That car isn't going off a lot less than 60k.

No. this is ~7K markups,@@Levamentum
These are going 5k mark up now. So you're looking to pay 56k out the door.
@@looneyyang1326 how did you arrive at 56K> MSRP is 46,345. total plus tax = 51,345
No... GR Corolla Better...
3cylinder😢
