Thank you so much for including the STEP files for older versions! My company is still using SW2021, and the official SW assembly training module only works on 2022. Glad I found yours!
of course, I've got your back. Lots of my students in the course has the same situation so I knew I had to put the STEP for those who are working with the older version as well
Hi Aryan, Im an experienced design engineer and have used 2D autoCAD all my career. I have attempted to move across to a 3D environment on multiple occasions in the past, however there is something that i simply cannot seem to overcome. The method i use when I am designing is to work from the outside in. By this i mean i typically draw in the known constraints in the space and then develop the object(s) or parts with consideration to these known constraints. I can't seem to easily be able to apply this same strategy in the 3D solid works environment. Its straight forward in Solid works to initially develop a part in space, however this requires you to know all the information of the finished product before commencing. The way I and most good engineers design, is to create an assembly first which includes all the surrounding constraints, and then utilise these constraints to develop some of the unknowns when drawing the object. Is this possible in Solid Works? If so, is it efficient? Many thanks in advance, Steve.
Hi Steve, as an experienced design engineer, I can understand your concerns with transitioning from 2D CAD to 3D modeling. The good news is that SOLIDWORKS does provide a number of tools and workflows that can help you work from the outside in, as you described. One option to consider is creating an assembly in SOLIDWORKS that includes all of the surrounding constraints and components, and then designing your parts to fit within that assembly. This approach can help you ensure that your parts will fit and function properly in the larger system. Another option is to use SOLIDWORKS' sketching tools to create the overall shape and constraints of the part, and then use features such as extrudes, revolves, and sweeps to add detail and refine the design. You can also use SOLIDWORKS' assembly modeling tools to test fit and function of the individual components within the larger system. Additionally, SOLIDWORKS provides a variety of design tools and workflows that can help you efficiently create and refine your designs, including parametric modeling, feature recognition, and design automation. Overall, while the transition from 2D CAD to 3D modeling may require some adjustment, there are many tools and workflows available in SOLIDWORKS that can help you work from the outside in and efficiently create high-quality designs. With practice and dedication, you can master SOLIDWORKS and take advantage of its many features and capabilities.
Watched the entire webinar. Got the mini-course 2.0. Cannot find the downloads. Definitely not in the Final Thoughts video. Checked the Free Downloadables table but only found the drawing sheet exercises -- nothing that looks like this video.
I've watched this series and the 5-part beginner series and would like to watch the webinar you mention. Your website link in the description does not have any way to register for it or get access otherwise. Is there something I'm missing? Is the webinar still available?
Hey dude! Viewer from Spain here. Really nice tutorial, well explained and easy to understand. I'm an engineering student and I use solid works almost daily. I would love to see a tutorial for a functional toaster, not too complicated. Anyways if you've got any tips for this purpose i'd love to hear them, thank you!
Hey, thanks! I don't know how a toaster functions. THereofre, If I'm honest, I don't think I can make a video about that any time soon. But if you have a specific question, then feel free to ask
Hello, i cannot find the assembly link, there is only "Where to go from here" and nothing more at the closing thoughts. Can you check it please? Thanks
When using the mate type "profile center" , when clicking the main body to mate to the camera I get the error "selected entity is not valid for current mate type". Is this a problem with the download when using Solidworks 2018?
When I try to mate>advanced>profile center> click on flat surface of camera body then try to click on the flat surface of the lens body, it says the "selected entity cannot is not valid for mate type. Why does this happen? I am stuck on this step. Any help is appreciated! I am using solidworks 2021 and had to use the step parts.
there is. you have to sign up then when you go in, scroll down to the bottom of the page. there are more than 5 thousand people currently there and have downloaded it
Hey Aryan! This is Ahsan form Pakistan. Your website says, "Thanks! Your login has been sent it might take up to 15 minutes for you to get it". I have waited for almost a day and I am not given with mini course.
Sir it means that what problem came when you started as a beginner in SW ... How much hour in a day ,pratice and hardwork it needs to became a professional..because as i had started my Solidw since 3 months but i am little bit confuse that what should be done ahead so that i can get more skilled for sw

Fantastic! I've really been wanting to learn this. Thank you!
I don't have money that much but i am very very hungry to learn this course can something be done done for this
You are the SolidWorks Goat
Thank you very kind of you
Good vides man! Very helpful. Keep em' coming.
thanks. the next episode is up today

What's the software that shows shortcut on the lower-right of the screen?
Good job bro, the videos are really good
Glad you like them!
This video helped me. Thank you, Aryan. Liked n subscribed!
Glad it helped! that's why I upload them
I am learning everywhere where i am getting free learning course ... Bug i will work hard until my last bearth
sir i cant download the parts ,I tried several times to loggin but not working, no conformation message was been send after 15 min
Can you please provide all the heavy assembly design and information that how do i get a job in big companies by using solidw...
Please please provide next asssemble as we can not wait for it
I want to see how to make the next mate, when will be video part 2
today
Yes please i also want to see

When using the mate type "profile center" , when clicking the main body to mate to the camera I get the error "selected entity is not valid for current mate type". Is this a problem with the download when using Solidworks 2018?
Nope! The issue must be something else you're doing. Can't say what before I see it
I am using Solidworks 2018 and cannot open the STEP files. Would anyone know why these will not open in Solidworks?
you can open STEP in any verison of SW. The issue lies somewhere else and not your SW version.
When I try to mate>advanced>profile center> click on flat surface of camera body then try to click on the flat surface of the lens body, it says the "selected entity cannot is not valid for mate type. hard to tell without seeing it. send a screenshot of the situation to me here info@solidworkstutorials.net
what the name of program you are using for editing ?

I'm here in 2024, how can I download your camera files? That link doesn't work anymore.
Hello! Do you organise online training ???
Yes I do! you should check my course, courses.solidworkstutorials.net

Can you describe how hard circumstances came in your life to solve solidworks
what do you mean

Sir Firt of all i can't access your webinar .i think there is a problem...
2nd the parts are not downloading..how to download it.
Try now, I think the issue is fixed
please update website link
courses.solidworkstutorials.net/mini-course done
it seems you are using 16:10 ratio or anything else (something non-standard) and as result your video is cut off both sides
no, why?
you ramble too much. while the information is good, the 26 mins length can be reduced to 10.
point taken
Holy Frijoles! You are talking too much.
