I was also at X02. I was one of winners of a german xbox website at the time. Looking for photos and videos of it for a long time. Thanks for uploading.
Glad to put it out there, yes the early X events were as big as E3 for Xbox, they really wanted to show they weren't another dud entry into the games business... it was a fun time.
Thanks so much for this. Would you happen to have any conference recordings that covered the Freelancer game from Digital Anvil Stufios/ Microsoft between 1997-2003?
Who knew what would happen to Rare. They really screwed themselves with that purchase. My question is, why couldn't they have just been a Second-Party or Third-Party developer instead? Third-Party is pretty much developing on any platform you choose so Rare could've divided into 2 seperate teams to develop on Home Consoles (PlayStation 2, GameCube or Xbox) and Handheld Consoles (Game Boy Advance, N-Gage or Zodiac) then they would have no problem with budgets. Second-Party is pretty much the same thing but having at least one of their IPs exclusive to a console so they could have done that with Nintendo. Rare will never be the same again and we have Microsoft to thank for that. Screw Microsoft for what they've done to them.
I don't I'm afraid and I don't think I've ever seen one. X02 (the second X event) may have been the first one they considered important enough to record properly.

This is some high quality stuff. The Rare acquisition sequence is the only thing I’ve seen out of all the rest that’s shown here.
Thank you so much for this video!!, the announcements made in X02 were the first steps in a path that xbox continue to this day...

Man, back when companies had style with their presentations.
Xbox definitely took things up a notch - all gamecos' preses got bigger during this period.

Sorry no recollection of that one I'm afraid.

Do you have a rip of X01?

The Rareware acquisition is the reason why I am now a Xbox owner.
Cool, is that you at the beginning?
Ha yes, much younger - but old enough that I was trying not to be too impressed...
