Fandango is the best movie I have seen about that period between leaving high school and going off to whatever you will become. They do a perfect job of showing some of the growing. The music seems melded into the movie. They did a fantastic job choosing the music, especially the Pat Metheny and Lyle Mays.
A masterpiece of youth movies that many young people remember even in Japan. Best scene in that movie. No matter how many times I see it, I am moved. Even now, there are many Japanese who put it in the No. 1 movie.
Totally agree. He really lost her... "...never been serious about a woman." 😔Realisation came way too late. The most poignant moment - fantastically well acted.
I saw this movie in NYC by total chance when it came out, what, 35 years ago or so? But I have never ever forgotten the beauty of its last ten minutes. Deeply moving and graceful, so all credit to the writer, the actors, Metheny and Mays, and the director Kevin Reynolds.
I saw this film with my room mate my last year of college. I became obsessed with Pat Metheny and Lyle Mays and jazz as a direct result of this scene. I also can't watch this without tearing up. Greatest film ever made? No. My favorite? Probably yeah
IT'S LIKE A DREAM, Every time I hear this song it stays with me for days. I've enjoyed all the music Lyle Mays created and all of the live performances I saw over the years. He will be missed
In 1990 Dances With Wolves cleaned up at the Oscars. In 1997 Titanic did the same. Costner was in Dances and Amis was in Titanic. Both here in their first real movie.
Hearing this music and graphics it all. reminds me of back home on the rezervation, cause we are like 20 years behind in some cases. Even as a teenager I helped gave my old VHS to the elderly, and its all just gives me back home vibes 😊
My friends, ex-girlfriends and wife used to get pissed when I see Suzy Amis in Usual Suspect and Titanic I used to blurt out "HEY! How 'bout a fandango?"
We are all flawed..normal? Eh...the jury is out on that. "Normal" is..is.. what can it be measured against or based upon...???? I'm stumped. Yes..often loving. But more is always needed.
This movie is fing great and the reason I became a Pat Metheny fan. Too bad it cuts off the end of the song. It’s from Pat Metheny Group “as so Wichita Falls so falls Witchata falls”. “It’s for you”
Incredible scene from a vastly underrated movie.
Troppo bello troppo romantico
The one that got away. He will always love her. ❤
切ないけれど美しいシーン。
大好きな映画です。ありがとう。
"It's for you" too Lyle Mays. God bless you
Yes, yes! Such an amazing album, too. I have it on my phone. I listen to it, often.

One of my favourite endings EVER.

A perfectly realized movie moment, full of repressed passion and unrequited love, set to the magical sound of Pat and Lyle.
Brilliant scene.
Totally agree.

RIP Lyle Mays!
Pick up his self titled solo CD, if you haven't heard it.
Wonderful music. First rate.
Bellissimo film!! Colonna sonora PAT METHENY..
Saw this when it first came out....I want everyone in the world to see this film...it’s a life reference.!!!!

Yes, the writer ... who was also the director, which I failed to mention in the above. My bad. Kudos all the more.

AGREE 100%!!!
Every time I watch this scene it kills me. I can't think of anything sadder than realising you're losing the love of your life forever.
I'm tearing 😢up now.
This song in this movie helped me develop a love of jazz in my early 20s.
Agreed
“You boys drink beer?”
“Uh, well, yes sir... On occasion..”
😂😂😂😂😂😂❤
My all time favorite movie. The music the road trip, on my bucket list to take the journey.
Me and my son already did. It was great 👍🏾

Rest easy Lyle🙏❤️ This has always been an emotional song for me and now it’s even more so!
What an absolutely wonderful song. The movie was amazing as well. Thank You.
Timeless song, classic movie scene, and it all plays like a dream.
The whole movie is very surreal. One of the most underrated films ever.

Tremendous film and a soundtrack nobody can ever get hold of. Just adds to the magic I guess 😉✌️💃🏽
What a movie!!! And what a soundtrack!!!
One of my all time favorite movie scenes!
This film brought me to this music. Thank you everyone.
When they began to dance... What sweet moment. Anyone can fall in love.

Magical, no other music would have worked with this scene. Thank you Lyle Mays.
Never seen this movie but this is my favorite song. Thank you PM and Rest In Peace LM.
You need to see the movie! After 30 years it still stays with you. My favorite all-time movie and soundtrack.
This is such a underrated movie. And what a great soundtrack. That is the great actor Jason Robards son that is getting married.
On top of that they actually got married in real life.
@@kman5924 she's now married to James Cameron.
Under appreciated little film - like Breaking Away in that same era
Another of my all time favorites.
Powerful movie and music
Love this movie and wwor community calendar bought me here
Non finirò mai di dire ,l'innocenza di quegli anni che ora non esiste più. Beati noi di Una certa età che abbiamo avuto tutto questo sentimento .
Crying now watching it
Marvelous t'he music of Pat. Metheny. Thanks for sharing this clip and I promise all seeing this movie😏😚😚💖💖💖
Love this movie

Love that film
And then she walked out of my life.... 🤦🏾♂️💔
I had no idea Pat did the soundtrack to this movie. OMG. I miss Lyle too. A musical genius.
I've never seen this movie, but the song is moody, evocative and fits this scene perfectly.
Fandango is a MUST watch movie. Outstanding.
Please find the movie and watch it. You won't regret it!
I wish, I'd never have seen this movie; so I could watch it again with new fresh eyes 👀😍.
One of the best movie soundtracks ever! This movie is one of my all time favorites.
@@kman5924 a very good way to put it.
A great movie
Notice how Barnes ( Costner) is the first to see her.
That's what was supposed to happen
Best song ever made.
No song matches a scene better than this
Not true
Hasn't happened yet but I always wanted to get married just like this.....
Where do you start writing this? Answer.......Genius doesn’t have a beginning or end, it just.....is.
Groovers
Fundango 🤗🌞That was a ride guys🎉⭐⭐💣💣
😅😅😅😅❤❤
This is the same Kevin Reynolds that directed "Waterworld", what happened????
My guess is either Costner had too much undue influence or he was just in a bit over his head.
Mettete un Fandango
O yes , tell me I am not in the middle of town location the mid-western, let me connect with the next town.
Just out of curiosity, where did the red bandana disappear to?
I didnt know Napolean Dynamite (Jon Heder) was in this! 😂
It 12:30 AM, and we think America is going to change; we are not our so-called leaders, we are normal people, flawed, but in our hearts loving.
We are all flawed..normal?

It was actually not his group. It was released as Pat Metheny/Lyle Mays.
