I started playing at 15 1980 But he's one of the reasons I paid $2700 for my cherry burst Gibson les paul standard dam I should of got one years ago these guitars are amazing sometimes I don't even plug in it like playing a regular acoustic guitar.
Page. kosoff , Rossington , Collins, Ed King, gaines , hendrix were my reasons for picking up a guitar I learnt zeppelin skynyrd and hendrix tunes just basics then stopped for years ive never been in to shredders it bores me to tears but then the cat in the hat appears and blew me away plays with passion like the aforementioned but has a great solo style just brilliant in my book made me wanna play again I'll never be any good. But i love trying to play and thats what music is about pure pleasure ! Ive never seen this version before only the made in Stoke UK which I thought was amazing respect to all frustrated gutarists out there love and peace from London England
This dude can improv for 12 minutes straight and not ply the same lick twice… that’s what I love about Slash. He can always keep it interesting and impressive. An absolute legend.
Holy snappin' alligators Batman! Slash gets better and better and better. Don't know if I've ever heard an 8 minute solo more on point. Wow!! What a Beast!!
I often come back to view this wonderful performance, but then I'm reminded of how much UA-cam sucks with those unwanted and very annoying ads that always ruin the moment.
won´t argue about slash, but for me, to be in the top top of singers, you gotta write your own songs also, and be great at it. That´s why Axl is better than this guy, which I respect, don´t get me wrong
Solo... Sounds like in the key of " Do you feel like we do" ala Peter Frampton. Slash is one of my favorite guitarist since 80s. It wouldve been an honor to be in his presence that close and recording w cell phone. Thx for sharing.
Arguably the most underrated rock singer of all time. Nails everything he sings both stylistically and from s technical standpoint. Very few people understand and appreciate how hard this is to pull off, as he often covers some of the most difficult songs sung by the most talented singers.
Naw that's Ian Thornley, Slash increased Myles's profile down South in the US since Mayfield Four whereas Big Wrecks still a maple gem. Arguably. But it gets better. He can shred on guitar for real but there's not much footage out there. Him and Ian Thornley are one in a million.
Greg Hubbard I'm impressed you sound so so ...... smart I guess! Who the hell are any of us with are opinions if you say so it must be true. And the way you so elegantly correct common folk ! Just amazing you must be a guitar god ! Seriously you don't sound at all like one of those loser UA-cam wanna be guitar players that know everything . No not you you fuckin douche bag!
What an Amazing video you took!! thank you so much for posting this. I can’t believe you enjoyed watching this firsthand so closely!. I’m in a Guns N’ Roses tribute band, and I play slash, and the solo is so helpful to watch. Thanks so much again man!
Who ever is in this rhythm section is holding it down flawlessly, I don't think the time moved at all from beginning to the end. That is what a real rhythm section sounds like.
You got that right dark night! Been trying to play for 40 yrs and starting to think I just don't have it! So on that note, it amazes me when hearing him do this so effortless! 👍
On that little clean pick through slash does starting at 11:30 , Is the first time I've heard that on RQ Live. That's an awesome sound and glad slash loves to improvise. Thanks for this upload bud!!!!
I saw all these comments saying how amazing this solo was and as I read them thought,,,, duh, have they never heard Slash?.. and then I watched it and realized this is actually whole next level slash on this particular night. Damn…, and I have watched 100s of slash/GNR videos before this … plus the camera being on him was awesome.. great video
To all of you who were the "blessed" to have witnessed what I can only say is in my mind the Greatest Ever version of Rocket Queen EVER, I say, "You lucky fuckers". Slash is absolutely other worldly here. He is absolutely, no doubt in my mind, an alien being sent from a Galaxy far, far away. But you, you lucky fuckers were there. If you develop full blown dementia and that turns into Alzheimers, you STILL will never, never EVER forget what you saw this night. Slash, all I can muster is: "We're not worthy" and a couple of down on my knees salutes. Phenomenal. Fuckin phenomenal. R&FN'R...
For diehard GnR fan right from their beginning, this sure was a hell of a performance!!! There are lots of mud slinging going on between Axl and Myles' voices, I love Axl to bits, but still I think Myles does have a superb voice reminding of good ol' GnR days.
I agree....NO ONE will top Axl in his prime...and at times he still can sound really really good...but Myles is in HIS prime right now..so...you see what I’m saying...I’m just thrilled that Slash is putting out new, amazing music still, and is back on stage where he belongs, next to that maniacal ginger...
@@mr.smithgnrsmith7808 absolutely true.....Slash is out of this world man.....feels really great to share my passion for GnR and Slash.....very few such people these days
Ibought a gibson 60s tribute. Amazing sound out of a budget gibson. Oh and its tobacco burst. I paid 600 from second hand and yes i checked it is real. Got the p90s in it. My friend has a 81 silvervurst and its around 3k and it plays so much different than mine. We all call it butter.
If you watch him instead of his hands, he literally becomes the guitar. He’s a god.
Thank you for staying on Slash for the whole solo. Drives me nuts when people wonder off during a guitar solo
Thanks, bud! Glad it didn't disappoint.
So true… guitar solo = closeup of bass player’s face wtfffffffff 😂

Same here. I absolutely love playing the Civl War solo.

He really has gotten better and better. So clean and accurate
I’ve been listening to Slash since 1987, and that was probably the best guitar playing I’ve ever seen him perform.
That solo was fuckin magical.
I often come back to view this wonderful performance, but then I'm reminded of how much UA-cam sucks with those unwanted and very annoying ads that always ruin the moment.
I could not look away from that solo. What are the chances I got to live in the same lifetime as Slash.
Slash is definitely in the conversation of top 5 guitarist of all time....and Miles Kennedy top 5 vocalist of all time
won´t argue about slash, but for me, to be in the top top of singers, you gotta write your own songs also, and be great at it. That´s why Axl is better than this guy, which I respect, don´t get me wrong
Thats one of the best solos I have ever heard Slash play. That was very entertaining which is not easy to do with a 5+ minute long solo.
THE BEST, WITHOUT A DOUBT.
Check out led zeppelin going down slow from how the west was won. Long solo, uber tastey!
The live version at The Roxy in 2014 is like 12 minutes.💀

At 12:49 we can notice the Myles's face waiting the guitar bend during de guitar solo.
Really cool seeing Slash playing that lead almost clean
Myles Kennedy is one heck of a vocalist. Probably the best I've ever heard from Slash 💯
Best solo I’ve heard from slash hands down. Sweet!!!
That pick was on fire 🔥
Haven't listened to this song in a long time, excellent!!

This solo (2:13 - 9:16) is so fuckin' unbelivable - see his emotions!

And then didn't...
too bad they watched it through their phone
SLASH LOOK MUCH BETTER THEN IN HE YOUNGER DAYS
Yeah it was great. They went for 2 hours.
Holy shit, that's such a new direction to take the live solo in. Really love that jazz inspired, low distortion, wandering start to it!
Slash is amazing!!!

No he's a man.
Can you imagine if we'd had cellphones in 1978 and could watch videos like this of EVH from then?
Glad I introduced these guys to my son. He’s shredding just like slash in under a year.
Great Solo!!!!
This was without a doubt a phenomenal performance!!!!!
All those guys kick it pretty good , Slash is my hero
I was about to turn this off, when the solo came...couldn't stop. Absolutely killed, better than live dvds imo
My god.. thats solo absolutely insane.. !! I want that phrasing
