Very glad you're making the Captain series. One thing though. It makes me feel physical pain when you know so much about the game and yet you're kinda rushing it, which makes you loose some stuff on the way. The frostbreaking, not seeing the heat bonuses while building houses and the fact that you placed FOOD stockpile hub next to Oil Extractor making a conclusion that the hub dosent give any workforce bonus :D I know it's Captain difficulty, but it kinda feels like you're playing the game for the 1st time. Please play slower 🙂 I'm loving your videos either way. Keep at it! Thanks :-)
My apologies, I will try to make less mistakes. I'm still pretty new to commentating and gaming at the same time, so mistakes will happen unfortunately
@@Geddarm Oh by the way someone else commented this and its a good point. I didn't record the guide videos until after I finished captains mode, so you'll probably see my guides telling you to do stuff... but I utilize in the captains playthrough because I didn't figure it out until afterwards
@@DataEngineerPlays That would be waaaaay better to implement all the stuff you talk about in your guides to your playtrough. It's good to see the bigger picture.
Oh! Please confirm something for me. 1. Isolationist - Can I access steam cores from the frostland are they "resources"? 2. Consistency - Do I have to stick with the 3 starting cornerstones ie. Adaptation, equality, reason?
@@DataEngineerPlays 1 isolationist. Haven't tested it out yet because I never build any logistics districts during that Utopia run. Steamcores are used for building so they are most likely resources 2 Consistency. You should be fine as long as Zeitgeist goes into one direction only. I went with machinists and then their radical faction and still got the achievement
@@DataEngineerPlays I think the prologue serves only as a "do you proactively do stuff" check. If you wait for the game to tell you to do stuff, your goose is cooked (and or your seal is butchered, hah). But if you're even mildly proactive you'll pass with flying colors, then get bushwhacked by Chapter 1.
firm but civil / bonfire might be mutually exclusive, i think the only way to avoid deaths in the fighting is either to use the 'protect people' which wont end fighting, and thus will spread past 5 districts, or have 0 radicalization right off the jump in chap5 which i'm not sure is possible.
@@DataEngineerPlays AFAIK you need 3 tiles touching for possitive effects but each tile touching (up to three) directly triggers (and worsen with more) the negative effect! Here how ever, there was no indication that touching the extraction increases the squalor. Might be a prologue thing
The achievement is linked to the choice that comes up where they ask if you want to slaughter ALL the seals or banish some of the wanderers to meet your food stockpile needs. If you select the "I will find another way" option you get the achievement after you win the prologue
@@DataEngineerPlays Some advice. Never let the mother get to her child when using quarantine. That will create a death. Just in case for your deathless run ^^
Did you record it before you recorded any of the guides? Seems like you don't know a lot of things you were teaching in previous videos. Personally I hoped for a skill-heavy playthrough, that actually operates the knowledge you were spreading. Got a whole lot of "what's happening? I don't know!" Still really interesting, yes, just a little disappointing.
Yes I did my guides after finishing captain difficulty. I didn't want to teach people things that work in citizen but don't work in captain. Now that I finished captain I feel like I'm in a much better position to say "this is a good idea"
@@DataEngineerPlays I didn't mean to say you're guides are ineligible. I was just saying that I was expecting a higher level of play in this playthrough. Not that it's too bad of a thing though.
100% Achievements? Outstanding. This will be fun.

EP02 when?! Looking forward to seeing how you laid the districts out and how you prioritized
1 episode a day friend =) you've got to enjoy the series like a fine scotch, can't skull the whole thing in 1 sitting!

I managed the prologue on captain the first time I played with the seal achievement completed. Then I entered chapter one and failed badly XD
Yeah I think the prologue is way too easy. It doesn't adequately prepare you for the challenges in chapter 1

Put food hubs near food district for the worker reduction benefit, it doesn't apply to extraction districts.
True, that was silly

why your extraction district touches the housing district? isnt it bad?
You need 3 tiles touching for it to be bad, 1 or 2 tile touching is okay

you ate the seals they are dead how did you save them?
I only ate 5% of the seals!
