LiFePO4 Server Rack Battery | EG4-LifePower4 Lithium Battery | 48V 100AH | Server Rack Battery In my opinion this is the best valued server rack battery on the market. This server rack battery is offered in 48V, 24V and 12V varieties. I plan on using this lithium Battery in Garage as an emergency backup battery but mainly will use it in my RV. This EG4 Lithium Iron Phosphate battery has the capacity to run my RV's air conditioner all day with my solar and for 5 to 6 after the sun goes down. I've seen DavidPoz and Will Prowse use this LiFePO4 battery and I decided to give it a try. Thanks for watching. I have the next one up for my cabin with a display. Love it. Works great. Let my cabin freeze. Big deal for me. I was told to bring the battery home and not let it go below minus 4 degrees F. Nice battery. Love it. Freezing is not the issue. Going down to below minus 4 degrees F is the problem.
Thank you for the freeze test. I should receive my EG4 in the next few days and it is going to a off-grid mountain site. Little to say, it gets cold up there.
I got my EG4 and replaced my old Pb-acid array. What an improvement! With the software I can even monitor the state of charge. I have it linked to the internet so I can monitor it from anywhere. Rite now we are hovering around 6 degC. Not quite frozen yet. Thanks for the videos.
Thanks for your video on the Eg4 battery.I plan on Installing the same Inverter with a 48v SOK battery in my RV .I was wondering about winter temp. and how it would effect them .I plan on isolating them from my solar/etc and was wondering if I could leave them in the RV .Great to hear Jason Web"s comments and experience with his batteries . Looking forward to your video on your RV set- up.
@@diySolarPowerFunWithRay Ray , I am thinking about mounting (4 x 450 watt panels) , I might start with 2 and see how they keep up , Bottom line is we do alot of remote camping and I like to be able to use all our electrical appliances , furnace, fridge ,etc , also the growatt inverter requires >60 vdc for the mpppt to start operating from what I read ,also there's other factors like shading and low sunlight on cloudy days. How about yourself what do you plan on running for solar power ?
Thanks, that's a good point going into winter. So do you keep them around only for back up emergency scenarios? if you use them regularly during winter, I imagine that you have them inside so you can charge them.
@@diySolarPowerFunWithRay It is for spring, summer, fall time cabin. In the fall it is fully charged and isolated from the system . I loose about 15 percent battery power in six months. Never touch it in six months
@@jasonweb9720 Hi Jason...I know this is and older post but wondering about how your batteries are doing...I am in the exact same situation (in Northern Ontario) and want to leave these server rack batteries out at camp over the winter in -30C to -35C temps...you are the only person I have found that actually has done this and posted about it...all the companies say to not store them below -20C but as you know it is not easy to haul these in and out, I am boat access as well which makes it even more challenging
What is the input limit on Current and Volts for your Growatt? I assume you will put series strings together near the max voltage (?) of the Growatt and then add parallel strings up to the current limit (?) of the Growatt? Help me understand if it is not too much trouble. I want to copy what you did only with two of the batteries you have and max out the Growatt with panels.
No problem at all. Sorry for the delayed reply. I just finished a review video of the this growatt here: ua-cam.com/video/p_SH5buI8jY/v-deo.html. You can actually install more panels than the listed amount to help on cloudy days(over paneling). There are some helpful comments in on that video describing how to do it in more details. Use my links and it will help me out....Let me know if you have any other questions and I'll try and answer them for ya.
Thanks for sharing, I have been looking into this battery for my OGC and was concerned about leaving it there in the winter. It states 100AH is this enough for a small cabin, (lights, TV, small fridge?)
Thanks, Glad this video provided value to you. Just remember a 12 volt 100 amp hour battery is 1/4 the power capacity of a 48 volt 100 amp hour battery. "no expansion after being frozen" ...! Trying to make a few bucks from affiliate links menas having goo knowledge of what you are talking about, thus providing content with real value. Cells won't expand unless during high amperage charging process, not stored in a freezer...!
I'm no expert but there have been plenty of people that thanked me for providing this review. It gave me piece of mind knowing my battery will be out in the elements for the next 15 years. I'll give a update after that as well... If you don't think that will be helpful you don't need to subscribe. Only use the affiliate links if you want to support this channel. I try to only post items that provide value... If it's been done before I won't do a video on the subject. The freeze test was more that expansion, I wasn't expecting it to expand(although I'm sure some were wondering about that), It was about verifying the capacity wasn't altered after the freeze..and verify the components were still functional after all the water condensation.

The temp. works on mind cut the battery off you can charge but don't go over 20 amps
Can you safely connect solar panels & inverter cables to the 2 inputs located on the top as opposed to the Growatt cables ??
You'll need to buy a separate inverter and separate solar charge controller. It that point I'd just buy a cheap Growatt that contains both of those.
