Hank Thompson was a class act and my idol, Hansford Smith Phyllis and myself were some of the last people to see Hank alive, as we went to visit Hank on his death bed in Keller Texas at he and Ann's home. I ask Hank if he wanted me to write a song about him or if there was anything he wanted me to do for him, his reply was " I can't think of anything" we visited for a while, spoke to Ann she said Hank was the best patient he never complained about anything. I drove Hansford and Phyllis back to Lampasas and came home to Austin. I was home about 45 minutes when Ann called and said Hank was gone. We went to a party for Hanks life at Billy Bob's in Ft Worth, there were several stars there Noel Haggard, Mel Tellis, Justin Trevino just to name a few.
Hank will never be forgotten he is a very big legend and has some very big shoes to fill. Coutry singers will never put the feeling into the songs like hank.
Hank gave me an autographed picture of the 3 Hanks 'Hank Williams, Hank Snow and Hank Thompson' they look to be in their late 20s I will cherish it forever.

Me and my wife danced to Hank's beautiful dance music in the 50's, in Tucumcari, NM, and I am 85 years old, play his music every day, just so blessed that Hank was a legend for so many.

I won tickets to a show with Hank and Ray Price many years ago. I wanted to see Ray so bad cause I honestly don’t think he ever had a bad song. Ray didn’t make it due to illness but Hank put on a hell of a show. I was kinda surprised that I was the only one singing along with him and all those great tunes from the 40s and 50s. Despite his age the man still had a great set of pipes.

Very good, so glad I took the time to watch it, Ole Bill Mack does a good job telling the story of this great singer and performer. I got to see Hank about a year before his death in McAllen, TX.
It was a good show and I am so glad that I went.

here we find the most underrepresented/appreciated person, i could play hank a good 24 hours-no repeats,no one has any idea, except a few fortunants, the fantastic stuff he did, there is work to be done, to even start listing whats missing is to daunting right now, i could come up with 30+ Lps right now! R.I.P. Hank, the greatest gentleman C&W has known,

The grearest in writing songs and the most fantastic in si nging them. His clear melodious voice just reaches down into your heart, soul, sometimes everything. He lived a good long life but for me be was srilll gone too soon.

Country Western Swing nobody did it better. The new Country Artists have lost their way as far as what Country Western should be. But.....they will keep trying the talent is there, Hoping for a real good Country Western tune ....'Soon''

I bought this album in the late 90s and it was where I first heard Thom Bresh play. Nearly 20 years later I have heard and seen a lot more of Thom- he's amazing and it is always great to see Hank Thompson who was such a legend of country and western swing music. I play this album in my car. Hank said of his incredible feat of a hit in six consecutive decades that it was not quite as great as having a hit in six non-consecutive decades!

Anyone from southeast Michigan? I remember back in the mid 70's when the Hank Thompson show was on channel 20. They showed a chopper flying at the beginning of the show.

Tanya Tucker was only 39 in this video (1997). She looked at least 50. Would hate to see what time has done to the poor lady by this point in time.
