Interesting Chris Shiflett "Cleaver" Tele Deluxe with their "Noiseless CS-90" which sounds Foo-ish at least, but not P90-ish. Listed at an amazing $3500 CAD in Canada! The more elegant and less complicated Les Paul Special is only $2400CAD. Chasing noiseless from the pickup end is a lost cause, sacrifice too much tone. Bridge and middle positions sounded fine to me, the neck alone is not sounding like a P90 whatsoever - somebody may still like it, I don't. Fully agree on the pickguard... it looks ugly. I guess it is in reasonable territory for fans, but for me, compared to my roughly comparable Reverend Dirtbike Royale, which has two clearly better sounding Mojotone noiseless P90s, an ebony fretboard, locking tuners, and that awesome bass contour knob (which I use far more often than I have imagined) and costs less than 50%, it is a bit lofty.
I personally love it. Nitro, p90, 12” radius… on a fender. Cool alternative to a Gibson IMO. Not a huge fan of the colors. The red is too loud for my taste and the grey/blue is just kind of meh. If this guy was Olympic white with a mint guard I would have already pulled the trigger.
Ow wow. That knot on the neck on a 2500 (2845 €) guitar? Straight back to the store. That’s a dealbreaker for me even on cheaper guitars. Even my 99 Euro Harley Benton bass doesn’t have that. Nor my Sonic series Bronco.
Yeah i'd be sending that back. Too many QC issues for a $2500 guitar. I sent two AVII Jazzmasters back with poor headstock paint lines like that and a bunch of finish and fret issues. I decided to try a Troy Van Leeuwen model (Mexico) and it was absolutely flawless and set up perfectly. It's pretty sad when Ensenada has far better quality output than Corona.
I mean, you can’t draw that conclusion from three guitars. I had a TVL Jazzmaster that had the worst paint job I’ve ever seen on a guitar at any budget. But it didn’t make me think that all MIM Fenders are poor quality.

He has a video talking about tgis guitar
Interesting Chris Shiflett "Cleaver" Tele Deluxe with their "Noiseless CS-90" which sounds Foo-ish at least, but not P90-ish. Listed at an amazing $3500 CAD in Canada! The more elegant and less complicated Les Paul Special is only $2400CAD. Chasing noiseless from the pickup end is a lost cause, sacrifice too much tone. Keep the noise and deal with it farther down the chain.
It looks like the squier troublemaker… not bad but if I had the money for a tele I would buy the 20 000$ Joe strummer custom shop. Or in more of my budget 😂the Mexico made Joe strummer reliced. It’s pretty sweet.
Ive never heard any lead guitar play from the Foo Fighters.
We must not forget that Chris Shiflet was also played with No Use For A Name for a while. Probably my favorite time for that band. He has come a long way.
@@pesodude3715 - Yes, and in _my_ opinion, he and his FF mates don't deserve to be 💩 on like the majority of people around these comments do! They are not Nickelback! And no, I am _not_ a massive FF fan.
Chris also has solo career. His solo music is quite different from the Foo Fighters.
RIP Tony Sly
His brother is also a phenomenal bass player in Face to Face. My favorite band from that era.
@@dublev78 Totally...two very talented brothers.
Fender>Gibson, amirite Trogly?
They should back route the pots and switch. Then do away with the huge pickguard. Would look way better. The guitar does sound very good!
"Hum-less P-90s" ... so a stacked P-90, which is a P-100!
I wouldn't trade this for my new SG Custom. It sounds better to my ears and came with perfect QC and an ebony fretboard.
It's interesting, but not as a signature guitar, just because of its spec's. But don't ooze telecaster to me, I'd like to play one just to feel what it's like.
I'd maybe put a humbucker in the bridge
Neck back plate must to be 3 srews, 70s style...
Yeah, I heard Chris gets really sweaty and tries every strap
Foo Fighters have a lead guitarist..who knew ? 🤔😂
If you’ve seen them live then you know
I can't believe that with all the diehard Telecaster fans out there, that Fender didn't offer these up in more colors. At least offer.
Fender hardly ever offers signature models in more than one or two colors.
Or save some cash and buy a Squier Telecaster Custom II P90! Great bang for the buck!
