In today's painting demo, we are going to make a DIY texture paste with sand for abstract acrylic painting. I am going to show you how to texture canvas with paper and how to use texture paste on canvas.
These acrylic texture painting techniques on canvas are alternative ways of using modeling paste. If you know some more textured canvas painting techniques, please share them with us in the comments below.
In this video, you will see how to paint gradient and how to blend acrylic. It's really easy acrylic blending techniques. Today's abstract painting on canvas implements northern lights or how they also called aurora borealis in the polar night. So cool! I've been using decorators caulk mixed with hand crushed rock salt. The salt can be dissolved out of the paste after it's dry which creates little crystal shaped negative texture.

So pretty! I have used sanded and unhanded grout with paint to create texture- its very cheap! As opposed to a small jar of Golden or Liquitex paste for $$$
