Well said! I have been breeding French mastiffs over 20years and had a few dogs with Pyometra, he is exactly right! Some vets dont care open or closed pyo, just want to do emergency spay and charge more money then to treat! Some vets dont like breeders period! Find out if open or closed and get 2nd opinion!
I agree most vets are too quick to recommend spaying
My vet asked me if I wanted to spay my girl with her very first litter
She was healthy and had no problems during or after the csection and raised 4 beautiful puppies. She just had her 2nd litter 2 weeks ago and she is doing well raising her 3 puppies. I’m not against spaying at the appropriate times but I think vets pressure breeders to spay when it’s not indicated for medical reasons
Exactly . I know plenty of female dogs ( and cats ) that have lived all their life ,till 16 or 17 or more , being intact ( no spayed ) and never had Pyometra or any other gynecological problem . I don't spay my healthy pets . I thibk it's important for owners of intact females to know all the symptoms of Pyometra ,cause unfortunately Pyometra is not a rare condition ,but if taken very early the time of recovery are incredibly quick . My 8 years and 7 months female German spitz had her 4 days ago , I knew the sumlyoms very well so I called the vet already knowing what it was . After some tests and Scans she confirmed that it was early Pyometra ( uterus was slightly larger but pus was already starting to build up ) , and she got spayed that same day . 2 hours later she came back home with her legs , all happy and with no problems .it's day 4 post surgery and she's basically back to normal . I would have never removed her uterus when it was healthy cause really would aw do that to humans ? She benefited for the sex hormones ( there are beneficials despite what the maindtream ideology says ) for 8 years and 7 months . She had a litter 3 and a half years ago . I wish people were less brainwashed .

Wow. I was always wondering about people meds and dog. It just higher doses for we take way higher doses than dogs. Def way cheaper.. Exactly I just brought my dogs prescription in and the pharmacist said yep it’s the same meds. The vet just like to charge so much money.

My dog has been acting normally throughout the day, but when night comes around she begins puking terribly for hours on end and very lethargic. The attacks would only act up in the evening, late night. Today she was diagnosed with closed pyometra. High white blood cell count and swollen uterus on xray.
Well spoken thank you because my dog was diagnosed with pyometra and she was able to Heal properly from the antibiotics my biggest fear or question was will she be able to conceive or her next cycle ..

i rescued a 16 year old shih tzu. turns out she is deaf too. then we had her teeth done, and then turns out she developed a heart murmur then she also had lung cancer i was told she would be gone in about 2 days. NOPE she carried on going, walking out enjoying life and eating fine. then 2nd april we had season, i know it was a season as she was behaving in the usual come and get me boys way lol. then 4 weeks in i noticed a slight drift with her and got her to vets, who did a scan and temp etc. she said her womb wasnt showing loads of fluid so diagnosed her with open pyometra. she is on heavy antibiotics has not had a temp or really been off her food. yes she has had discharge and washes herself and drinks a lot but she is on diaretics for her heart. so only 2 days i noticed an off smell but no discharge i assumed tail end of season. she has been on antiobitcs 4 days. yesterday was better and doing more. discharge (still red) much less. She still eating and acting normally for a 16 year old dog. still no temp not been sick nothing. they cant spay her because of her other health issues.
I am confused as all i have read about pyo is it starts about 4 to 6 weeks after heat. Bella hers started about just after her finishing her season. is there anything else i could give her. she seems to be doing ok. i know she has more chance of getting it again in six months but really the chances of her being here by the end is limited. i dont want to give up on her she is the sweetest dog you can see her on my channel. thanks for the calm discussion do you think i should get a second opinion? She has never had gunky snotty discharge with this.

Hello, my dog isn't showing any symptoms, seems healthy, she is spayed as of 3 years ago. Today she got up off her bed and leaked a clear mucous like substance. Should I be concerned? Thanks in advance! Obviously I am concerned.

I confirmed pregnancy with my dog at day 40 it’s day 42 and she’s leaking a cloudy thick fluid any chance that can be open pyometra? If so what would you recommend to do ? Hope I get a response fast & love your videos ! Learn so much 🫡🙏🏻

I’m concerned about my female having a UTI, can I give her cranberry pills to treat?
I recently took my French bulldog age 2 to the vet after her ester cycle due to her developing a case of vaginitis. We were afraid of a possible pyometra so of course off to the vet we went. Payometer was ruled out through blood work not a large enough white cell count to alert for a pyometra. Our pup was diagnosed accurately I believe with vaginitis. Our dog seems to be getting much worse after the course of antibiotics treatment from the vet. We're seeing large quantities of bloody discharge from the vulva and not sure because we can't get a straight answer from our money hungry vet will this clear up on its own or what are the alternative methods of treatment not surgery. Can anybody help me with this is large bloody quantities of discharge normal

Hi, how is your puppy? Did they ever confirm what it was exactly? My baby is going through that now has been on antibiotics for a week and still bleeding and is much more swollen than when we went to the vet however still playful sometimes and eating and drinking normal I am not sure if to take her back or go to another vet. So i sold my adult two yr old frenchie female and she went into heat that same month with the new owners so they called me yesterday saying they had to put her down because she had pyometrea and to take her uterus out it was going to be 4,000$ and she said the vet told her that in every heat she had a pyometra 🤔 so the lady is blaming me for the pyometra when i had her she was always healthy had a litter or 4 pups i sold her a healthy dog its just nature part not my fault
Hey great vid! Quick question, do you know the correct ph in water that they need to be drinking? As I don’t give my dog tap water nor certain bottled water. I just have a theory that ph balance can help prevent vaginitis infections! But was curious if you’d have any input to that? Thanks in advance..

If a dog leaks a lot of clear fluid from the vagina what is that most likely a sign of bladder infection, UTI or pyometra?
My dog started out leaking a clear fluid, a lot. She’s drinking more water than usual. She don’t seem like her normal self. I took her to the vet and she had an urinalysis and the vet said everything seemed good and it might be a UTI. Shes been prescribed amoxicillin 500 mg. The veterinarian said it could be either uti or pyo, but more test would need to be done for pyo and she needed to sedate her. I’m hoping its just a uti and the antibiotics work

@@shaunclutch9062 if its bleeding.. Consult with a vet.... Vaginitisis usually like foul smelling pus discharge.
