Generac GP2200i won’t start without spray and surges

- This generator will not start without carb spray and when it does start it surges really bad. These aren’t the easiest generators to work on but let’s see what we can do with it!

Excellent video, unfortunately the part of this video that is of most interest was partially blocked. The part where you install the small black plastic piece with the spring attached (I don't know the name) to the stepper motor. I took my carburetor apart to clean it and when I went to reassemble it, the plastic piece fell off and I cannot figure out how it goes back on. You cannot see it in a picture because its covered by the stepper motor. If you can be of help I would appreciate it.
@@schrabk the black plastic piece goes below the metal plate on top of the carb. The stepper motor shaft goes through the metal plate into the plastic piece and that’s what controls the throttle. Be patient and you’ll get it. Thanks for watching

All you had to do is double nut the carburetor bolt and pull the bolt off, you don't have to disassemble the whole thing. I pulled the carburetor off in 10 minutes to clean the jets on this exact model

Can some one help me: there are small hoses that come out underneath the gen.
I can only see where two ends connect, there is a Y shaped black plastic piece with a small hose not connected to anything. Is that a spare or has it come loose?
@@ph5937 I believe the hoses you’re referring to are nothing more than vent lines. They are there to prevent fuel being leaked on to hot surfaces if the carb needle and seat should stick.
That little piece that fell off where did it go? Im having that same problem right now.
I believe you’re referring to the part that fell out after I took the carb off? That goes down in top of the carb.
It is part of the mounting hardware for the plate that is on top of the carb. There is two screws that go through them mounting the carb
