- My first video in my Middle School Classroom Management Series. In this series I am sharing one classroom management tip that I have personally had success with in my classrooms over the years.
As we all know, each classroom has its own unique personality, and not every tip or tool will work with every class. However, that doesn't stop us from trying and trying again to see what works!
Middle School is a lot of fun!
Thank you! I love the Sit Like a Scholar tip. That is one of the biggest struggles I am having with my students at the moment. I really appreciate all of the tips!
Thank you! I’m still adjusting to middle school from high school, and I underestimate how many repetitions middle schoolers need. I really like the sound and look like t-charts. I’m also going to try Sit Like a Scholar. Thank you! You’re awesome!
Curious what your whole class consequences are? Love this video!
O wow. I have heard of people doing this for kinder. Had no idea it would work for middle school too
Would you post your behavior reflection plan sheet? (The plan for those students hard to manage) Thanks.
Thank you so much RE full class repetitions! Substitute teacher here trying not to drown lol
Yes, I agree! I am a long term substitute for 7th & 8th
You are one of my all-time favorite teaching channels. Please keep making these classroom management videos! I am teaching small group reading pull out.....do you think having them practice coming in, starting the do now etc. will seem babyish to them since I only have groups of 2,3, or 4 kids? It will be my first year teaching middle school.
Kayla Cotter thank you! I promise, I will. We started school, and we so it's been cray! I will be working on on one this week. Yes, I'd totally have them practice any routine you want them to know. Even if it's only once or twice. I even have my students practice raising hands in class. I want the expectations to be so clear that there is so excuse about why they misbehaved.
Kayla Cotter and how fun that you get to do small group reading! What is your position at the school? Are you a reading specialist?
Yes....a special education reading specialist so I am teaching Wilson & also two classes for reading comprehension. I am really excited! Thank you so much for all your advice & your awesome videos!
