Hi Dani, my name is Fatima, I am the girl with the headscarf you very kindly refer to in both the swim and evening wear categories. I want to thank you for the kind compliments and the advice you gave! MUGB was my very first pageant - ever; I had practiced for a month prior to the finals on how best to walk/pose by watching YT videos online, however when I was on stage I was so nervous and forgot everything I had practiced :D I hope to re-enter again as I loved the experience, pushing myself out of my comfort zone and making new friends. I will make sure to implement your advice and if you recommend any coaches/online videos etc, I would be so grateful if you could let me know. Wishing you abundant happiness, Fatima xx
Before I even watch your video, which I do on long haul flights, I have to comment on your styling lately. You’re so coming into your own and every video you just seem to out do yourself… love it Dani!
Just like in New Zealand, the local girls had no chance from an alumni of MU PH. This will probably start a trend where half Filipinas or overseas Filipinas will use MU PH as a launching pad to win smaller national contests to get to MU. I think the citizenship and residency requirement had also been relaxed or done away with.
@@kenlau457she placed 1RU twice in the past already, so even before MUPH she was an incredibly strong contender. MUGB has had contestants in the past that have travelled to Philippines/Thailand/South America for pageant training but didn’t win.
I do not know the obsession over changing gowns for every competition. If one gown works for you, stick with it. Cecilia Bolocco wore the same gown at Miss Chile, Miss Sudamerica and Miss Universe.
Evanjelin (your fave swimsuit for MUGB) competed at Miss International in 2022 as Miss International UK and she actually won Best in Swimsuit at MI! She’s got a great swim walk
Dani , once again thank you for another very insightful & incredible re-cap on national competition winners going forward to this year’s Miss Universe! I’m an ex South African now living in England : my work has caused me to not being able to keep up to date with all these pageant’s going forward to Miss Universe 2024 ! Another experienced Philippines cross over contestant winning for another country! Is this # 2 because of Miss Zealand? As for Great Britain, Miss England, Miss UK etc : the history shows that they had a great winning record & so many placements in the Miss World competition before it all fell apart
Love all of your videos and your content in general! Is there any chance that you could review the Miss International Queen 2024 pageant? A former Miss Nevada USA competed this year and I would love to hear your thoughts on the pageant as a whole? Mahalo from Hawaii!
This is the first time we have 4 Filipinos competing in the miss universe international pageant from different countries MUPH 2024 Chelsea manalo MUNZ Victoria and MUGB Christina
THIS WONDERFUL! That makes 2! 2 former MUPH Contestant who won national titles outside MUPH! Miss Universe New Zeleand, Miss Universe Great Britain and Miss Universe Philippines going to Mexico for Miss Universe 2024! What a great reunion!
You forgot Ms. Univ. Bahrain (Shereen Ahmed ) who is also 1/2 Filipina. I believed she is now in Manila together with Ms. Univ. Egypt for the training & both for gown fittings.
It’s time for the 👑 or top 5 placement for the following half-Filipinas 🇬🇧🏴🇵🇭 Christina Dela Cruz Chalk 🇵🇭🏴🇬🇧 🇳🇿🇵🇭 Victoria Velasquez Vincent 🇵🇭🇳🇿 🇧🇭🇵🇭Shereen Ahmed🇵🇭🇧🇭
With three Filipina candidates from different countries competing for Miss Universe 2024, is like a rematch of the Miss Universe Philippines. As a die hard Filipino fan of Miss Universe, this is thirsty. 😫
Dani, how do you feel about contestants who jump from country to country just to get the ticket to MU when they don't actually live in those countries they seek to represent? This year, we saw so many former Miss USA contestants going to compete in other national pageants India, Ecuador, Zambia, etc, but they all lost.
@DaniWalker I don't mind girls going to other countries they have citizenship in but MUO seems so lax on the rules these days. Girl who have been selected in Paraguay and recently a European country have been accused of not being from those countries. Even Miss Nigeria isn't a citizen of Nigeria.
Thank you for giving us a shout-out, usually a gown like that is too over the top for a British pageant (when she stretched her arms out and there were 4 things dangling, two on each arm, it looked a bit like washing line). Also, there is greater "range" in the walk you can do over here. I once saw a contestant in a national final bound onto the stage and jog up the catwalk in her gown. (My Mum calls that style "jolly hockey sticks") anyway the lady called Sue finished second. I think she lost to Julia Vidler who became an actress, but the energy was heavily in her favour definitely wouldn't have got her marked down. Loved your colour commentary. Kind regards David from England x
Right now, there are a total of 4 Filipino-heritage candidates for this year's Miss Universe, 3 of which from MUPH (MUPH 2024 winner Chelsea Manalo, MUPH 2024 top 20 finalist Christina Chalk, and MUPH 2024 top 10 finalist VVV). The other one will represent Bahrain (but didn't join MUPH 2024).
Sometimes it feels like Great Britain to Miss Universe is like Georgia to Miss USA. Having connections to a rival pageant might be… could be a factor why… correct me if I’m wrong, but GB has won Miss World several times but never Miss Universe… same with Georgia… won several Miss America titles but never a Miss USA
i don't think she will. i am sure a business is already been sealed to save the organization. i think a rich latin organization or national director bought the crown already.
Great Britain has definately been one of the most consistent European countries in the past 10 years.Great and motivated winners and in general their contestants seem to have a better understanding of pageantry.Their only setback, like any other European country,is the lack of competent pageant coaches.
GB had always been consistent in the pageant when they competed as England, Scotland and Wales and yet they failed to bag the crown. They are overdue for an MU crown. I am hoping for a first time win for regular placers in recent years like Curaçao, Jamaica, Costa Rica, Portugal, Indonesia, Vietnam and Ireland.
@@kenlau457Especially England.Incredibly, before making a comeback with Amy Willerton in 2013,the last time a British contestant placed at MU was in 1983!
Christina actually wore the same gown that she wore during the MUPh finals, only she wore her hair up there. She wasn't able to compete in the Evening Gown comp in the finals though. Personally, I liked her prelims gown better.
Several countries are sending these biracial Filipina delegates in order to have a chance of winning the crown. Are beauty pageants becoming too saturated with these Filipina or part Filipina delegates? Maybe we have reached a point of saturation, and it may backfire on the outcome. I have a feeling that fans are slowly shying away from that look this year.
I actually hate when you not saying girls names, only one that you know know. Every time I hear “she, this girl” is like what? For me is really disrespectful to not even try said their name
@@malgorzatamolik I see you didn’t stick around till the end. The audio of the show wasn’t great so I couldn’t clearly hear everyone’s names. They also didn’t project them on screen or stage so I didn’t have them.
Just seems like it’s turning into a Miss Philippines Universe competition with so many part Filipinas and increasing by the year too. Just seems kinda desperate no?
MU Philippines didn't intentionally send 2 more girls to represent different countries for Miss Universe as if they're sending more entries for more chances of winning. If any, they were sending other MUPH finalists to different pageants they also have a franchise of (e.g., Miss Supranational). These girls decided to go back home (Christina was born in the UK while VVV in New Zealand) to where they grew up and joined the pageant there. It's just that being in MUPH basically prepared them to win their national pageants.
Not really desperate, but I mean VVV and Christina were given opportunities to their fatherland so there’s no desperate odds for PH to win. Whether they’re half Filipinas they still represent GB (Christina) and New Zealand (VVV).

I’ve noticed more curvy and plus sized contestants. Do you think it’s because of the recent rule changes or just a natural evolution in pageantry?
