Pro tip from a mechanic, always undo the negative cable. 👊🏻 But yeah disconnecting the battery is a good idea, good bit of stuff hot under the dash all the time.
Your a braver man than I. That's alot of work and remembering how it all goes back together well let's just say it's good you have it on video. You deserve a hug I feel for ya!
@@Str8sixfan That's how I would do it too. Sometimes the extra masking off time is easier than disassembling, and then fearing putting it back together not to scratch it.
I can't thank you enough. I needed to take out my radio and there was 0 videos from what I seen. Saw someone on fb give a link to your video and this helped so much. Bless your soul.
I've pulled 2 of those Pontiac gbody dashes and didn't have that problem with the screw at the top of the dash. Both had plenty of room fo the screw to come out and both dashes we're pristine with no cracks. I sold one and kept the other for my car. Didn't think it was that bad to take them out but then again I wasn't planning on putting them back in at the time as they came from the junkyard 😄
Amazing work man! QQ- How in the world do I get rid of that nauseating alarm buzzer beeeeeeeeeewep? 😂 I hate it! I’m not super car savvy! I’m learning quite a bit from your videos! Thank you! 😊
This is what it's all about. I can't climb to have the best videos out there, but if I can help the next person build their confidence to build their hot rod, I'm happy to have put the video together!
The things we do for "fun"! Keep at it Grant, you'll get there!
Very well said!

Absolutely no doubt I'll be watching my video in reverse!
Will you be refurbishing the paint on the steering column while you have the dash apart?
@@hagerdhotrodz yes, but probably going to pull the carpet back and spray that steering column rather than take it out

Dude that's a job! This car is getting the premium treatment here
Hope it pays!

Hey, that means so much to me! It's exactly why I do this!

Thank goodness I have a video to help me retrace my steps!
Thanks for showing, great video because I just bought myself a project car and it's a1979 Pontiac Grand Prix.
These are always the comments that make me most happy that I did it in the first place! Hope it helps! Good luck with your project!

@@Str8sixfan Yeah, still need to get rid of that buzzer sound though! Ugh!

No problem. I'm about to copy and paste this link to someone on a Grand Prix Facebook group maybe that's you, haha. Happy to help!
@@Str8sixfan Great thank u so much.God bless you
That’s a lot of screws.
It's overwhelming for sure!
The things we do for tunes, eh?
yeah, I just hope it goes back together
If you have trouble getting it back together Grant--it's Jason's turn to go on a road trip! 😆
Taking a dash out of any car is a major job not for everybody good work!
Yea, it was a chore! Also was so glad everything worked how it should after I put it back
Hey buddy do you know where to get the rubber strips that are in the bumpers? Mine are dry rotted.
unfortunately I do not
I'm having a hard time with the right mirror adjuster that's mounted beside the heater unit
I hear that's difficult. Mine doesn't have the adjuster on the passenger side, so I didn't have to deal with it
What speakers did you use ?
I am replacing the same dash
Kenwood 3.5", if you go through my Shorts on YT I have a video on them
Wow. That job sucks lol
simply yes
@@Str8sixfan you should get a second gen Dodge Ram. The dash frames just fall out on their own 😆
