But can we use the water from rather reddish Matta rice as it seems to contain some sort of oil traces? Please advise. I live in NY and plants are mainly inside in winter!
I do not cut during winter. Winter it Will go dormant so I don’t prefer giving stress for the plant. I cut them starting of spring.when they are indoors I use the leaves for cooking as needed. 🥰🥰

Thank you so much for watching the video.When you keep the plant inside house don’t fertilize. Fertilizer will attract the insects. You can apply fresh soil / mulch on top if needed. I have used sticky pads/ glue based traps for the small flies that usually seen in the pot. You can place a sticky pad near to the pot so that the flies will get trapped. I haven’t had any leaf infestation so far. If you do ,you can use neem oil spray.keep in touch.😍

Hai Jos, thanks for the comment. We have centralised heating system in our home. We continuously maintain 68 F , it’s okay to maintain in 65F too. Winters are bad here too. But if you keep the plant near to window and keep a consistent temperature plant will be okay.Please don’t overwater in winter. Last year I have kept the plant outside only 4 months due to cool temperatures. I don’t know about your place weather conditions. I don’t recommend placing the curry plant outside for our summer here in UK the year before when we had that beautiful summer I kept mine outside and I killed the plant. Our wind and temperature change constantly and are not good for it to keep it outside , so now I got another plant keeping it on a window sill facing west, it get some sunshine and staying healthy there. But I would say it’s very hard to look after curry plant.

Hai Allisa, sorry for the late reply. കുറച്ചു അടുക്കളപ്പണികളിൽ ആയിരുന്നു 😜. As I said in the video this was a small plant I got from my friend. She bought it from an indian store here in USA. We cannot bring any live plants from India to US . If you have indian stores near you they may have some, not really sure though. You can bring curry leaf seed from India or you can buy some online. 2. I have used potting soil which is available in most American stores in the garden section. Haven’t used any Indian soil. 3.I have only used potting soil/ potting mix. I hope I have answered your questions. I usually do it in the starting of spring. I don’t know when the spring will start there. Pruning the trunk leaving no leaves is what I do. It’s up to you. If you’re not confident enough don’t go for it.

Dropping leaves during winter is common. Try to keep the temperatures consistent without much variation . Mine had the same problem but the plant will revive next spring. Don’t worry. And do not overwater during winter. 👍👍
Njan cheyyarund, ethuvare kuzhappam onnum undayittilla. Spring thudangunna time il cheythu nokku. If you are reluctant to prune completely try one or two branches first time, if it grows back healthy you can do a complete pruning next season. Hope this helps.👍👍

Usually I won’t put anything except water after I bring it inside. During winter please keep the temperature consistently . Don’t keep it near to heater vent. Thats it. Hope this helps you.😍😍.

@@NaathoonsSpiceworld thanks for the response I understand but meant for future videos. I have bad luck with curry leaf plants. I killed my two 9 yrs old plants and after that none survive past 2 yrs. Looking at your video I realized I had to prune them after I bring them in for winters.
Seema you’re right. You have to prune the curry leaf plant during spring time. Don’t prune it while bringing indoors since plant will be in stress of sudden change in temperature and environment. Also I use used tea leafs and egg shells as fertilizer. It’s important to keep the indoor temperature without much change during winter. Pruning is the key to get a good healthy curry plant. Try to place it near to any window so that it will get some sunlight.Move it outdoor if the weather during day is getting higher than 50.It’s easy to move plants in and out if they are small. Use your judgement to move in and out according to weather. 👍🏻👍🏻. Best of luck.🤞
try to get a suitable sized carton, cut its base off and use it to cover and sheild your plant in balcony from evenings to sunrise.take carton off during daytime. chop of excess branches if needed and don't forget to prune just before spring

Dilute need oil and spray it before you bring the curry leaf inside... put fresh potting soil on top too. Move all dead leaves from the pot.

is it white spots or a white insect? if insect just flush it out with water continuous for few days.

Usually I won’t put anything except water after I bring it inside. During winter please keep the temperature consistently . Don’t keep it near to heater vent. Thats it. Hope this helps you.😍😍.
Adding 1tsp Epsom salt in pot is also good for curry plant.

@@NaathoonsSpiceworld thanks for the response I understand but meant for future videos. I have bad luck with curry leaf plants. I killed my two 9 yrs old plants and after that none survive past 2 yrs. Looking at your video I realized I had to prune them after I bring them in for winters.
I also watched your house tour video. You have a beautiful house done very aesthetically. Loved it.
Seema you’re right. You have to prune the curry leaf plant during spring time. Don’t prune it while bringing indoors since plant will be in stress of sudden change in temperature and environment. Also I use used tea leafs and egg shells as fertilizer. It’s important to keep the indoor temperature without much change during winter. Pruning is the key to get a good healthy curry plant. Any advise...
Try using diluted neem oil. That will help to get rid of the fungus. Pluck any leaves that are affected to prevent the spread to healthy branches.😃😃

Try to place it near to any window so that it will get some sunlight.Move it outdoor if the weather during day is getting higher than 50.It’s easy to move plants in and out if they are small. Use your judgement to move in and out according to weather. 👍🏻👍🏻. Best of luck.🤞
try to get a suitable sized carton, cut its base off and use it to cover and sheild your plant in balcony from evenings to sunrise.take carton off during daytime. chop of excess branches if needed and don't forget to prune just before spring
