Hmm, I'd like to know how to do this replacement but have no window experience, so the methods and materials you mentioned are all Greek to me. Our place is 83 yrs old with the original steel basement windows about that size. And yeah they'd pivot in on the bottom to open and latch up top ... if they weren't all rusted. Describing them as being set when the foundation was poured explains why no one has ever tried replacing them before!
