The blood symbols Ω and ^ evoke _God of War_ and _Sparta,_ respectively.
Lady of the Forge sees the first but prefers the second. "Nah, that whole _God-killer_ thing ain't it; this man is a Spartan."

@@mitchhamilton64 For those who played the first games means a lot, in fact both symbols appear in most of the God of War games, the Omega symbol is the one uses in each game, the other one is a nod from another GoW game: the Arms of Sparta. The syren itself could be an Easter egg from GoW 1

This comment is even more inaccurate when u remember kratos kneeled down for zeus in gow2 at the end boss fight when he says “i lay down my arms zeus”

Everyone else making assumptions about his intentions, but Brok just casually knows _exactly_ what Kratos' priorities are without needing to ask.
@@samwallaceart288 No weapon should ever be overused, if one wishes for a peaceful, happy world. A weapon is a necessary, but last measure of protection against violent disruptions of life, and in an ideal world ,no weapon would ever be necessary in the first place. They're truths Kratos learned (along with many MANY other truths that don't have to do with this discussion) long ago, and Brok's blessing stands within them. That Brok made that part of his blessing says so much without saying much at all, and its awesome.

Well, yes. But tbh there's a good chance you're not gonna like it. In regards to the scene with the lady, When Kratos says "It is the nature of a thing that matters, not it's form." I personally think that is the most powerful line in the entire game. The complete respect and kindness that Kratos shows Brok in that moment is just beautiful. He is truly a friend. And you'll notice, if you watch that scene again, that the lady only ever looks at or gestures to Kratos, even when Brok is speaking. Even at the beginning when she wants the bag, she holds her hand out to Kratos, not Brok, the one with the bag. She is genuinely unaware of Brok's presence because of that missing "soul bit."
In the dream once baby Atreus disappears it is just Kratos alone in darkness with his scars. There is no more dialog in that scene past that point, but you can tell exactly what Kratos is thinking. He is terrified of losing his family again and he is terrified of becoming the monster he once was again. Great visual storytelling and a great physical performance by Christopher Judge.
When one of the Norns called Kratos "Cruel Striker" that is a nod to the original Norse mythology and the 2018 game as well. In the original Norse Loki is the child two Giants Laufaye (Faye) and Farbauti. The name Farbauti translates to "Cruel Striker". The tie to the 2018 game is on the mural in Jotunheim that we see at the end the Giants listed Atreus' name as Loki, but they also listed Kratos' name as Farbauti.
So in the myth Draupnir is a ring that was I believe made by Brok and Sindri in the myth it was made as a bet with Loki but Draupnir is a ring that multiplies every 9 nights (the number 9 is a huge pattern in the mythology) and since Brok and Sindri had it before it was used to make the spear it was an infinite source of materials which is probably why they were able to make all their tools and things

I don't think there is a better sentence in to show the growth of Kratos as a character over the course of all the games in the franchise. From saying "I care little about the world and its suffering..." (in Chains of Olympus) to calling Brok a "great blacksmith" because his friend needed some comfort in a moment of need. So good.
Brok's blessing is beautiful. "May it be put down when its job is done." And yes, I cry every time I hear it too.
Kratos: "Death can have me when it earns me."
Tofu: "It's giving Levi Ackerman."
Never thought of that, but.. Yeah actually. Feel like that's something he would say.
Let's just get the obvious out of the way first: goddamn, you are _gorgeous_ Tofu. I mean, you always are, but this is a _great_ look for you. 😍

Loved the music mashup and hearing all the thought (and slight obsession) that went into making it. The end result was dope, and you got me wanting a full track now. Gimme?
You really kicked some ass today. Yeah, you died a couple times too-though let's be real, some of those deaths were bullshit-but I'm really impressed with how each time you took a second, corrected, and went right back in, usually for the win. And I'm also proud of you for not beating your head against a Berserker-shaped wall over and over, but just recognized you were underleveled and moved on for the time being. Mature gamer moves, right there.
Good to see there's still no tiny creature in the Nine Realms that's safe from a little random Tofu murder. :Ρ
Wielding a legendary, magical weapon of the gods with an exuberant "poke, poke, poke"? Could you be any more adorable? lol And badass, too-you picked up on how to use the spear _ridiculously_ fast.
The whole forge section is one of my absolute favorite parts of the game, and I was right there with you getting emotional over Brok and Kratos. This time was no exception.
All-around great episode. Your videos always lift my spirits, and after a draining shift today, this was _exactly_ what I needed. Thanks, Tof.
1:51:49, Tip: Your target lock is on the Traveler guy. So Freya can't focus on the others. Either switch your targets (move the right stick) or disable target locking (Press R3).

Pink Tofu is possibly the strongest evolution yet in the journey to become a full anime princess. We need to bring in Dutch or something before she becomes too powerful.
Speaking of manipulators, I do have to give big props to Odin's actor. On paper, having him be this "Nordic CEO" type personality (last ep even had him juggling Skype calls via ravens) could have easily come across as cheesy or just weird, but he really makes it work.
I always viewed Odin as a Mafia Boss rather than a CEO but I like the comparison!
I really loved the parallel you drew between Atreus and Balder. One thing I noticed as a played was that Odin and Atreus have very similar attributes, just like Odin and Loki in the myths. I think Odin is what Atreus would have turned into had he continued down his darker path in the first game and didn’t have good influences like Kratos/Faye.
KNEW you were gonna tear up when Kratos asked Brok to bless the Draupnir Spear. Also, you seemed intrigued by the symbols the blood formed before it turned into the flag on Draupnir, so I'll explain them to you. The first symbol to appear is the Greek letter Omega, which has been the symbol of the God Of War franchise since its debut. The second symbol that appeared was the Greek letter Lambda, which served as the symbol for Laconia in Ancient Greece, where Sparta was located. It was also the symbol for Sparta itself, as Spartans would have the Lambda emblazoned on the faces of their shields.
Damn near bald when Kratos asked for the blessing. A true beautiful moment between a soldier and his blacksmith 🥹

WE CAN FINALLY TALK ABOUT THE DRAUPNIR SPEAR! It's so much fun, I love it. It's simply great, kind of like the song edit you put together. I think I like it more every time I hear it. It's something that you've obviously put a lot of thought and work into and it shows. Speaking of putting in work, good lord this is a long video. Your longest yet if I'm not mistaken. I'd be scared to know how much longer it would be if all the footage of you hunting ravens 😉(or Rodin Avens as you called them) was still included. That transition at 1:11:30 was clean af though. Props to the editor for that! It's always a fun time to watch you evil giggle and struggle with stuff like the shield puzzle and cranes. Please never change. It’s kinda distracting how pretty you look in this video. You look gorgeous in all of your videos really but the pink hair is working for you especially well.
Always love when a video starts with a bit of storytime with Tori. The breakdown of your obsession with combining the songs was fun and you bopping in your seat to your mashup was hella cute. (Also love that I called the exact moment when the idea of comparing Atreus and Baldur popped into your head last video) And of course, your breakdown of the characters psychology was well thought out and soomething that is so unique to you and your channel
The genuine panic in your eyes when you briefly forgot the controls for Kratos was hilarious (not you comparing him, even in a small way, to Levi. The AoT rot is real with you) and boy, you sure do get stuck in a lot of animations; it’s almost like it’s an excuse 😏

Your reaction to everything that happens at the forge was pretty much exactly the same as mine. And your glee at getting the spear and finally being able to access the yellow spots was adorable which was immediately offset by the sheer joy in your eyes when you used all three weapons to kill enemies…who am I kidding, you smiling and giggling while slaughtering trolls is hot

According to Norse Mythology, the Draupnir ring was a magical ring that would create 8 exact gold copies of itself, however the rings that came from it could not make other copies as only the original Draupnir ring could copy itself.

I play Lord of the Rings Online... I named my character's legendary sword Skofnung years ago. Kind of nifty seeing the name turn up in another game. He has another I called Balmung.

And here I was thinking the puzzles were still a little easy, but definitely an improvement from the first game.. the puzzles there felt so silly at times in terms how of simple they were with all these grand, godly and Giant genius engineering and architectures. I now see that these puzzles might not be as straight forward to everybody. Which is a good thing.

We have ourselves a music mixer, you did great with it! Deliverance is one of my favourite songs too in the franchise, Atreus’s theme is linked to kratos’s theme with the three starting notes “dun dun dun! Dun dun dun!” And kratos’s theme being slower and darker showing off the difference in innocence between the two. Atreus has this light hearted theme, very quick very exciting, kratos has a slow rugged theme which slowly increases in speed as the song goes on

love that analysis of the music. the music in these games have been strong to quite strong at reenforcing the themes of the game. (don’t forget freya’s overbearing approach to motherhood and how that affected baldur; she also inadvertently sent baldur searching for meaning with odin).

Hei Queen. Try using Lunda armour set and to benefit for the set option use fists. It will be easy mode and inflict poison which reduces enemies level and armour and you do a lot more damage. Also pair it with sonic arrows from Freya and Atreus. That will be easy mode. Keep it up. Love your vids.☺️

Don’t know if you know this, but Atreus’ leitmotif (musical theme) is the same as Kratos’, just reversed. Same notes, just descending instead of ascending. Really fun detail I noticed 😊
