Signing up with for the free trial with my link really helps support my channel :) THANKS GUYS!!
Gorgeous! I think a lot of artists shy away from group illustrations at an angle like this because of the difficulty, so it's so nice seeing you go at it with enjoyment and skill. A very nice video to watch and I love the mood of the piece :)
The mood was very nice yeah
Well said!
Your art is always so beautiful. Hope you’re doing well❤️ I also draw my characters bodies first and then draw the clothes, it makes things easier. Like once I have the body looking the way I want, I can then add the clothes and accessories.
The first pages in your sketchbook turned out so beautiful, I'm so excited for further sketchbook sessions.
The reason I don't really use references except for study sessions is that I usually have a clear vision of what I want and I don't want to bend this vision to something that only kind of fits (+ especially when it's really spontaneous I'm far too lazy to seach for a photo or make one myself :D) I also enjoy the process of figuring out how to make something look right without having to look it up.
It feels calme when L WATCH THUS KIND OF VIDEOS. I MEAN WATCHING YOU drawing a peaceful moment make feel better
Sock is back and I'm here for this.
No but really we need more Sock content, I love this fictional boi with all of my heart and I don't even know his role in the plot.
Also this school aestethic is called "academia" and it revolves around the glorification of intellectual shenanigans, a tad of mystery, and, depending on the subgenre, your fair share of paranormal activity.
So I'd just describe Gloaming Vale as a mix of dark and light academia from what I could gather from your videos and brief explanations.
I'm waiting for it to get published so I can contribute to the fandom wiki page lol
Sock content?
@@danny_decheeto8300 Sock is one of her characters. She did a reference sheet of him in one Ref Wednesday video.

because of this video I just looked at all of Ferris Wheel Press's inks, and I'm in LOVE
I really like this new series :D
There's something so blissful about this piece, I love looking at it. I adore how you lined the details in the hair, it looks so cool!!
I also really like this new series, it is very relaxing to watch.
And yeah, the hair was amazing too
Delightful video. it's 31ºC in Toronto right now so It was refreshing to hear you say how cold you were when you made this sketch. Your penwork is
incredible, somrthing we can all strive for. Yes you did go a bit heavy with the darker inks, but how very mature of you not to let that ruin your day.
Thanks for a most enjoyable lesson.
Imma watch this while doing some maths ! Thanks for making me company 💖💖
Love that you're planning on doing more sketchbook vids. They are so chill and your art is so beautiful. Makes me want to break out my copic markers that are also ancient. Hearing about your process was super helpful too.
yajjj, new video from comfortartist ✨💕
def character first (even if just a really loose sketch) and then clothes. the clothes seem to fit the form better that way 😀
I didn't know you were from Toronto. I'm from windsor, I've been following your channel for years. I love this spread
Wow just wow! Thank God for sketchbook sessions!!!!! I can’t get over how amazing you are! I can’t even handle it. Obsessed!!!!!!!!
I really enjoy these sketchbook sessions, I hope you had a good time, and glad you decided to make it a series
I love Arthur Rackham too! and your drawings are beautiful. Love the palette. This series is so nice and low-key. I'm here for it.
your style is beautiful, awesome & incredible. i love it❤❤
I can literally watch you draw forever
I am genuinely in love with the colouring!! I don't know why but brown ink just never clicked in my brain and I've seen this and immediately placed an order for two bottles of it!! I can't wait for more and I really hope you continue this series!
Just found this channel, time for a binge watch! Watching you draw, and listening to your insight is so fascinating 😍😍😍👏👏👏🙏🙏🙏
I have crippling anxiety and depression and it helps so much to watch your videos w ur soft voice and it motivates me to get back into my art but at the same time makes me hate my art cus anything after looking at what u create looks like dog shit when I try lol. But I’m so happy you are doing this series! Thank you so much
Your art is beautiful. Keep up the good content.
Absolutely
You're my favorite artist, looking forward to more from this sketchbook series! Super excited for the next artbook as well.
Watching you sketch is always so relaxing
You have a very calming voice, this video helped sooth my nerves after a close friend of mine said he was suicidal. Thank you so much for posting today I really needed it
This Chill Sketchbook Session is one of my reasons to grab my sketchbook and draw along with you like we are in the same creative space trying to just draw ....
ahh this series couldnt come at a better time! i've been neglecting my sketchbook and it was lovely to draw along
I feel the same honestly, the better paintings/drawings I make are spontaneous or at least loosely planned
I love your sketchbook sessions! 🤩
Yes, I LOVE these sketckbook pages! I'm here for this series! 😊💫💜
Wow you always blow me away, so talented! Love that you're doing a sketchbook series, can't wait to see what you come up with next + always enjoy your commentary, no matter the topic. Have a great week (despite the cold)!
Loved the video and the art looks beautiful
Your line work is absolutely mesmerizing! This makes me want to get my dip pen out again 😁
Amazing art as always!
Wow very neat drawing thank you for sharing
As a fellow Torontonian, hearing someone complain about the bad weather immediately lifts my mood knowing I'm not the only one salty that it's still snowing and cold again lol.
Absolutely love these sketchbook sessions! ^-^
I love this illustration! (and this series!)
I honestly think you probably have some special talent for posing your characters so seamlessly, because I assure you, it's not that easy for most people! I do use reference pics, especially when I have a specific idea in mind of what I want to draw, but I usually try to get the pose all by myself, and I'm definetely more conscious of what I am doing than when I just watch a pic and replicate the pose-that's when I go on auto-pilot xD. It's way more satisfying to get most of the pose by yourself and I think that in time, I will be able to get rid of references. It's true that a ref will likely guide you to a result that's already established by the pic itself-so you're actually just making a replica, that's why I think that a reference should only be used for understanding how some parts of the body work, while leaving a lot of space for imagination. Even though most of my ref pics are actually selfies, but I wouldn't know how to get all by myself certain angles, like the one in your illustration!
P. S. In your previous video you mentioned that you deleted your games and actually got more productive, so I gave it a try... And it's working! I honestly had been thinking of doing it for some time (even on my phone I deleted most social media because I thought they were too much of a distraction and now I like it that way), but listening to your experience was the push that I needed to actually do it, and I'm so glad I did! So thank you! (the withdrawal symptoms I was expecting are much less strong than I believed! Yay!) Next is gonna be quitting smoking lol that one won't be so easy! T.T
So good. Thanks for showing your process 🤗
Hi, you can minimize the shininess with the faber castell matt graphite pencils, no need for another lamp :) At least it helped me.
Thank you
I love Ohuhu! I have all their brush markers. I’m no professional so they suit me perfectly ☺️
i love this new series and hey really help me relax thank you for the content
Beautiful work
Beautiful 😍
We are definitely loving this series🥰🥰
sooo cool, i really like the colour ,always support you, stay in touch 👍
god i love your videos so muuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuch ;;_;;
they make me wanna grab a pen and draw!!! which i will do now :D
Thank you for your hard work and sharing your videos with the rest of us
I'm so exited for this sketchbook series :D !! I especially love the way you ink your drawings, do you have any tips for improving line work?
0:22 ohh wow Phin Coffee
maybe it was the ink, that made the pen skip. This usually happens to me, when the ink is pigmented and not dyed, if that makes any sense? the pigments then clog the fountain pen with longer use and for me it stops working completely when i let the ink in it dry 😭 maybe try a different ink, it would be a shame to waste an expensise fountain pen. The drawing is as beautiful as always, just stunning! 💛
'Lying in the grass'
Me: * Arizonan who lives with things like fire ants, cow killers, scorpions, black widows, tarantulas, mesquite weeds, cactus bushes, and sandspurrs*
What...?
*Living in BC where the grass is a soggy mess because it rains 9 months of the year* What?
Also cool I was recently in arizona for spring break
You were talking about not being able to find references for poses/angles/etc. That you wanted, so I was wondering have you tried making your own? There are a number of 3D model posers online, and there physical dolls (like the body-kun doll) that you can pose and photograph.
Personally I only look for reference if I feel like I need them during the process (unless I'm specifically doing a reference study) as if I start with a reference I feel like it hinders my creativity
myself, and every artist I know, does body first - then clothes
I think references should be mostly used for studies and for building visual libraries. They can sometimes be used for inspiration (particularly in concept design), but in that context, they should ONLY be used for inspiration; you should not copy the reference. With that being said, sometimes you just need to draw that 1 thing and you forgot how to draw it, so you can pull up a reference, do a quick study maybe to remind yourself, but then draw it in your own way instead of copying. Or else you may end up with a jarring result that doesn't fit with the rest of your art piece, plus you didn't learn anything since you copied.
I draw a full body, then draw the clothes over that too, I cannot figure out the clothes if I don't.
Thats nice stuff, as just discovered your videos. But I have to ask ...did everybody hate school as much as I did...?
i can't emphasize how much Id like to avoid that shiny graphite pencil look you were talking about🤦 guess I might try sketching w a ball pen sometime now 🚶
I missed the name of the ink itself... at least the Ferris ink. Just wanted to know what color you used.
Hi! May I ask what brown ink you are using in this illustration and what pen you use with the ink? I looked in the description but it seems they are different
Ooh im so early this is crazy
Just live stream n draw already… like omfg…
wow, could you make me a cup of coffee?
Why are u so good and i wasnt following u yet?
hi yo can meac a picr of me
Love this so so much. A lot of my favourite work of yours has been your sketchbook drawings and smaller pieces of your characters. I remember all the copic marker ones from Tumblr! So good.
Having your videos in the background while I'm drawing/writing working on my ocs and story is always a treat! Super relaxing vibes and always is nice looking at the progress you've made on your piece. You really inspire me a bunch!
