At the end of the day, everything devolves into their basic shape
Arin is Bouba, Dan is Kiki
A blue dorito and an organ?
Dan has no right to laugh at his dad for "Spoofy."
He just wanted to know where he could get his beloved son's music 😔
He laughed at himself with “Skidoo”, equal rights silly word enjoyer.

@@clericoflight476bouba and kiki is a study on how different cultures/languages would call 2 shapes. one of the shapes is like a pointy star and the other one is more like a thought bubble. most people would say kiki is the star and bouba is the bubble because of how sharp/soft the name sounds!

I love how you can boil down arin and dan down to such simple concepts yet still be recognizable

watching this without context is already a good time (arin blob's tiny yamaka hello??) and then realizing what 23skidoo is referring to on the 3rd rewatch .... effervescent
The tiny yarmulke was a necessary addition to bring home the fact of Arin's identity. And yeah, when I originally watched the episode, the fact that Dan got the name so wrong sent me into a spiral of laughter! 😂 That's when I knew I had to do this clip for an animated!

The fact that they've been compressed to just simple shapes is amazing
Their personalities are just so complex that I had to counteract it! These beings cannot be properly comprehended accurately without some compromises 🤭
Their essence has been captured perfectly with some simple shapes and some lines. Truly incredible work here, and I thank you for taking the time to represent them this way.

i like how the fandom heights/sizes for the grumps are so commonplace that even simple shapes completely work.
I think we all knew deep down that Arin has always been pink blob, and Dan has been some blue nondenominational 3sided shape 🤔😌

They've become their own mascots! Their general image is just so recognisable that you could reduce them down to even a line and a dot and still be able to know it's the boys 😼✨
