BUNNY BOOTS vs. STEGER MUKLUKS and why I love them both!

- I love them both for totally different reasons!
Steger Mukluks shine from -15*f to 30*f for day to day use as well as snow machining and snowshoeing in dry winter weather or when you want a lighter more nimble boot. They're the most comfortable boots I've ever had!
Bunny boots shine from -15*f and below for more extreme uses like standing long hours on ice, stepping in overflow and riding in deep cold. However, they can be very bulky and clunky, especially if you have big feet like myself.
I wear my Stegers daily during winter, but commonly choose Bunny Boots when things may get extreme on trail, either cold or wet.
What are your thoughts and preferences?
I’ve been using bunny boots for over 40 years and have never had cold feet in them working in temperatures to about -70 and winds chills over -100. I have filled them with water in minus temperatures while snowmachining and I just dump the water out and wring socks out and continue down the trail.
Nice boots! Good to see some boots that are preferred by someone who knows the cold.
Ice used bunny boots on the dive team here in willow only way to keep feet warm when in the water , and they will save your feet if in overflow out in the wood and take on water
Thanks for making this. Very helpful.
Thank you 😊
Thanks! This was exactly the idea I was running through my head.
What kind of dog!?!?
Yes - It depends! We love our Steger Cammuks in northern MN. Don't step in spilled diesel fuel - it ruins the sole.
Thanks
I'm from MN too! I have actually considered moving to Alaska just not sure how to go about find a job. I'm a truck driver and the little research I have done it seems they are not payed much more there than here and cost of living is higher. I'm still open to ideas
I have had Mine For about 4 years now. I paid $70 US. The Reason I took the time to find them. Is because I couldn't find a Good winter boot For Work and winter Hunting. I have used many brands in the past for Work and spent many $$$$ on boots. Because Hands and Feet. You Just Spend the money for comfort. No One like Cold Feet or hands. After Years of many different boots in cold and extremely temps in the working Field. These beta Mickey Mouse boots are the bomb. Yes they R Heavy. But You Will Never Get cold feet with them. Just make sure to bring a change of socks. Due to sweating through the day. But other then that. I Will Be Buying another Pair. These R my Go two Boots when winter Hits. No Hands Down. Just a fyi.
Hard to find my size in the bunny boots, I will have to look for some kind of replacement after my current pairs wear out.
They are getting more difficult to find. 40 years ago I worked for employers that would buy them for us. There used to be a guy that sold them out of an enclosed trailer not far from here a few years ago but I haven’t seen him around either. Oh well, I’m thinking of being a snowbird soon so it won’t matter.
@@Chris_at_Home I can only hope that my energy transformation leads to something as wonderful.
Are both of them sweaty? I used to have rubberized boots before with a leather upper while I was working for a parcel delivery service and my feet started to fall apart after a few days of wearing them all day long because they were extremely sweaty and my feet were feet all day long!
Which for backcountry elk hunting?
What I like about bunny boots is how light they are vs equivalent warmth boots. I have some Dakota -100celcius boots non steel toed. They are warm as can be but are so heavy they killed me walking a few miles with them hunting. Bunny boots are way lighter
Good review
I'm British I want some bunny boots
well my friend ive worn mickey mouse boots for 40 years and made my choice and sticking to it
Does anyone know where I can find new, unused, bunny boots? I know ADG sells them but am having trouble getting a hold of anyone for pricing.
I have stegers and bunny boots. god damn bunny boots are so heavy compared to the feather weight steger 😂
What is the sizing on the bunny boots? Size up or size down?
Size down, I'm a 13 in everything but a size 12 Bunny Boot is still a little big for me
What width did u get with the steager? Thanks so much, great video!
Did you buy them a size larger than your normal shoe size?
The Steger's are true to size at 13. Buy Bunny Boots one or two sizes smaller than you normally wear. I went with a 12 but could definitely fit 11s
