I think it’s only good purpose is to self inflict madness for the buff, since the torch does a much better job at inflicting madness on other players, and howl of shabriri takes several casts plus really bad dmg negation. You use the black dumpling, madding hand and aged ones exultation and now you have 37.5% dmg boost, which is crazy. Then you can move in with Vyke’s spears or the torch and just cause chaos
the maddening hand also has a hidden passive that boosts attack by 7.5% 5% in pvp if its in one of your hands when you proc it on yourself, flame grant me strength would give you another 15% and fire scorpion charm would give you another 12% if you wanted to min max the fire damage of the incantations
Glad to see even seemingly underpowered spells like Midra’s can still have a good use. Maybe if they lowered the FP cost more people would pick it up, but hey it’s perfect for terrifying people.
holy shit that invasion at 7:11 gave me the urge to punch someone lol. that host got such an unreasonable amount of help and managed to worm his way out of every encounter with you, so annoying to watch. it was very cathartic when you finally got the win. side note, you should try the grafted greatsword with this build. it's a functional weapon that serves as an endure stick while also boosting all your stats. it gives the frenzy seal a decent little jump in scaling

have you tried putting Endure onto the Dryleaf Arts/Dane's Footwork weapon? it makes it a bit sneaky because your opponent might think you swapped to an empty hand. it's also funny to dropkick the crap outta someone.

Midras flame really needs a buff holy shit. Just a worse unendurable frenzy. It should have tracking and the same range as frenzy burst for the FP and madness build up on yourself. Shit should be a nuke
Try the torch, the damage and spred is worse but when testing with my friend you can proc madness in 2-3 hits only, and can lead to a grab but the timing is tricky. I haven't had the time to try it out in invades yet though

God I forget how strong the Flame of Frenzy Incantation is despite it being the FIRST one you get it’s insane and you can get it so early as well Then we get a whole new madness area in the dlc, and the newest coolest incantation is really mid lol
This is the approach i like on builds, the old school way, like in DS1 where builds were actual builds where you pick a weapon, a "fashion", a theme and a set of items and just run with it. This has been lost specially with ER where people just mish mash a bunch of different weapons and horrible meta choices just to "win". Glad to see there's at least some people playing with that mindset like it was back in the day

Thanks a lot! Madding Hand and Frenzied Flame Seal scale of str, int, dex and faith which is why I reach the softcap for int, it simply gives bigger damage / better seal scaling.

Sometimes I severe finger when I feel smashing PvE'rs would not "make sense" but seeing Moonveil and Glintstone kind of triggers me because of so many "situations" over the years while invading.
Ok I can't be the only one who thinks that midra eye or Sauron spell is way worse than unendurable frenzy. They both do the same thing, hold to drain all fp, but the unendurable does more damage, better range, and doesn't proc madness on you in two seconds. What gives???
Midra's procs madness in yourself faster, this is the point of the build 🙂 of course we all have expected more from this big spectacle of a spell but inbstantly buffing yourself without the negative effect of Howl of Shabriri is not to bad. Let us hope they buff it!
What are your thoughts on the Frenzy perfume? Personally I adore it with rolling sparks, even after the nerf. Its stat distributions are hard to fit into a 150 build tho
It has something to do with scaling - Madding Hand scales D in 4 different attributes, that means you should get around 30 in each of these attributes to get most damage out of the weapon. I put most points into faith because the seal has B scaling in faith, but the rest is D, so putting a fair amount of points into the other stats gets a decent amount of incant scaling. Believe me, I tried different statdistribution, this one makes a lot of sense 🙂
The catalyst buff stack, if you don't have a copy, you can just hold the catalyst that gives the buff you want and use the best one you have to do more damage with the incantantion

Why the heck we didn't get a Frenzy flame head Helm. We get a bloody purple flower from Miquellrast. And yes, the spell of Midra needs buff.

When you see two dudes using bloodhound fang and veteran s armour, you know these dudes are gonna spam L2 and one hand L1 xD L1. If they also use spells, the game is automatically won, cuz you know they cry about difficult bosses and don't try to learn how to play the game xD pvp for them is a mith

I love everything about madness except the incantations and weapons. Vyke's weapon is honestly mediocre and the fact that madness incantations dont get hyper armor despite all being easy af to punish is just dumb. Top that off with them adding my favorite looking incantation and it is once again total trash. I can go pure pyro and have better weapons, better incantations, and do more damage. Its really quite disappointing.
I've always heard that dragon communion seal + arcane investment is better for madness incants bc it scales the madness buildup with arcane. Just wondering if you considered this and found this setup to be optimal and if so why
I use Madding Hand here which has the same scaling as the Frenzied Flame Seal. Building up more madness could of course be an important factor, but with the statinvestment here I even outdamage Erdtree Seal + Frenzied Flame Seal, I find more damage most important (+Madding Hand factor).

Mad exultation is great. You can self-proc it with Shabriri's Howl

It needs to cost way less fp, do more damage and less self inflicted madness. Having line of sight with the eye should also build up madness.

The only thing that midra's incantantion have that is better, is that you don't get stuck in a animation, unless you get madness
And a faster buildup (if you refer to unendurable frenzy).

I don't like hard swapping, I always try to "work with what I have" and adapt to situations, but you are definitely right, it would be more optimal!
I find erdtree seal main hand + frenzy seal off hand does more dmg if you have high faith due to the incant scaling
On all my 150 builds I use that combination, but with lvl 175 and the shown statdistribution 2 Frenzied Seals outdamage it.
