I moved here November 2021 from Miami. Great decision, people asked me all the time “why would you leave Miami to come here?” Why would I not, I can follow my passion of being a homeowner and getting into real estate. I make more as a waitress here than I ever did in Miami and cheaper living
One thing i love about growing up here is that everyone is connected. It is a greet example of when someone says "small World" and you'll find hourself saying it alot here. Almost everyone knows so bro you know or knows someone who knows tgat person or is related to them
I am born and raised in San Antonio. Everything that John says I agree with except the feeder roads and the critters. The good part about feeder roads is when the highway is closed due to construction or bad weather they are your alternative route. The critters depends on where you live. You’ll see more of them in new housing out towards the hill country. As he states, they are controllable.
Just want to add my 2 cents, but I have had the best time of life living in San Antonio. Been here since the beginning of 2021. I’ve lived across the country, but the Alamo City is by far the best. Everyone I have come across has been very chill, friendly and most businesses are very personable. I enjoy the Eisenhower park and it’s trails, simply beautiful. I’m on the Northwest side of town and have enjoyed it thoroughly, especially the Rim. Everything he has said in this video is SPOT ON.
I agree with most of this after living here for three years. A couple things: 1. My wife from Oregon would disagree that this is a good hiking place, especially in comparison to there. She calls this place flat. 2. I would say the access roads are a positive; I like them and prefer them. 3. Another big con to consider is the heat for sure. Some joke and say that we have two seasons: one month of fall and 11 months of summer.
Oregon definitely has amazing hikes. But If you haven’t great hikes in Texas then you haven’t look very hard. Big Bend, Palo Duro Canyon and Guadalupe National Park are just a few. I think the heat as a con is all about perspective. I much rather prefer heat over cold and snow.
It is flat im from Oregon, but beautiful just different. I would be confused as a kid going there when uncle said ride out past that mountain. 🤔 there are no mountains in Texas by our standards. But canyons and rivers . Most of all the people are nice i n Texas , I live in Portland Oregon now I have to carry a firearm at all times
I mostly agree with the pros and cons. For hiking, the system is being built out more and more. Unfortunately, it is not a walkable city, outside of the core historic downtown and forget about biking. The roads are poorly designed and poorly maintained overall. But...the people are wonderful, the lifestyle is great and there is active and growing food scene- it's not on par with SF, Chicago or NYC by any means. I have noticed that vegan options are growing by leaps and bounds, which is pretty cool. The art scene here is very vibrant too- which was a nice surprise.
Omg I’m from NYC and I moved to ATL and now I’m here in San Antonio and the first thing that annoyed me when I moved here was the highways and feeder roads!!! I think someone’s kindergartener scribbled on a paper and they was like that’s a great idea for our highways because it’s CRAZY! I’ve never driven on a road that exits left right and in the middle! Like you can’t get on and ride the right lane you’ll end up off or the left lane you’ll end up off there or the middle you’ll end up LOST! These roads will make you CRAZY!
All of these pros and cons are accurate. Another major con that I'm surprised wasn't shared is the fact that crime in SA is very high - above the national average. Do your research, it's truly an amazing city but make sure you are moving into the right neighborhood and even if you live in the right neighborhood, be vigilant. If possible, speak to locals who live in the neighborhood, they are usually very willing to tell you the good, the bad and the ugly and have nothing to lose from doing so.
Last thing, having lived in other areas of the country, feeder roads are a blessing and something that more major cities should adopt. I hate driving in the east, west, midwest and other southern cities outside of Texas, because if you miss your exit you are screwed and it can add an additional 20 to 30 minutes to your commute. Driving to a stop light to left or U turn is so much better and easier on drivers. Feeder roads a blessing and something that I would consider to be a pro. Living on flat land allows us to have them. They aren't aesthetically pleasing like mountains, hills. turnpikes, etc., but are extremely useful.
Born and raised 42 years and this place is like others crime is everywhere north south east west sides all have crime but if you have neighbors that look out for each other or just a noisy neighbor that calls all suspicious activity that’s a good thing this town has had great moments thanks to our Spurs fiesta parades etc no place is perfect but to tell you the truth if you already have family here it helps a lot things happen but if you don’t have family your neighbors can always become family just make sure you get to know people first like any place don’t trust anyone outside your little circle this is a military town so that’s a huge blessing to know that if your down to earth and remember where you came from then San Antonio is the place to be “MAKE SURE YOUR AIR CONDITIONING WORKS GREAT” winter here is maybe 1-2 months out of the year I encourage to visit all areas so you can see what your getting yourself into god bless #SanAntonioIsHome
A lot of Texas cities tend to flood. Especially Houston/Galveston area. San Antonio as well... look up San Antonio flood videos right here on UA-cam. Cibolo area floods too, just do your research on areas and streets that tend to flood and avoid those neighborhoods
The headers you are talking about I bet is anything around HWY loop 1604 which is the loop that is on the the very outskirts of the city some till this day is a 4 lane highway ( 2 lanes per side) which is outdated, no one live out there but the rich and the suburbans, now they are working to make it bigger, use to be stop lights before
I used to live in San Antonio with my kids and it's one of the most family-friendly cities in the US. You have Seaworld, Six Flags Fiesta, and overlooked Morgan's Wonderland. All are top notch theme parks and great for kids. Then you have great museums, the zoo, and other quality kid-friendly attractions. All while having low cost of living and not having the level of traffic like Austin, Dallas, or Houston. You get the best bang for your buck and TIME! I felt like I was on vacation year-round because of the great number of attractions that I could take my family to every weekend. And if you ever want to visit the other major texas cities, San Antonio's central location makes it a short drive to Austin and Corpus Christi. Houston and Dallas are manageable drives as well.
Thanks for the video. We are two or three years out, but hoping to semi-retire to SA then. We'll miss some things here in SW Washington, but maybe not the weather or the politics. As long as you move close to a large park and/or biking area. The trail system is great, but not all areas of town enjoy good proximity to that, so make sure you look st that first.
@@AngelaSealana Thanks. The area around Medallion park--called something else now, I think--looks interesting to us, but we have so much more exploring to do on our next trip down.
Dude, you're definitely right about the roads...on-ramps and off-ramps, and if you miss your exit, you've gotta go in a HUGE circle to go back. It's frustrating, for sure.
Frontage roads are designed to avoid California traffic, especially since there are so many big vehicles in Texas, and that's why folks that have lived in California hate them.. they are more than welcomed to move back. 😅
I know a lot of Canadians would love living south but put up with the cold so we don't have to deal with the CRITTERS!!! YUCK that is the worst. My Florida friend has to deal with that too! I am allergic to grass and trees... Maybe visit Texas like I did once to Austin but have to get used to the critters first! Coyotes and Wild Pigs in Alberta too. Thanks for sharing
I loved living in San Antonio. Fiesta was always amazing and united the city. People literally camp out for months to get a good spot to watch the Battle of the Flowers. One man even rented a portapotty since he would be there over a month!
I've lived here long enough to not understand an alternative to access roads. I'd love to know how it works otherwise. Can you just just turn left or right directly from the highway or something?
I was born in SA, and been in and out city over the years with military. My plan once retired is to move back to Texas . Not sure if “San Antonio” will be where I’ll move to, but I do like the outer 1604 areas like New Braunfels, Canyon Lake, Spring Branch, Boerne, etc. I’ve been to many cities ; it’s hard to find one that offers a combination of industries, housing cost, nature, culture, lifestyle that San Antonio offers . 🤔
I left SA 31 years ago for work and have always missed it. Johnathan nailed it pretty well on the pros and cons. If you’re sensitive to mountain cedar, get treatment. I like the feeder roads. All large Texas cities have them.
I feel much of your frustration about the feeder/access roads, but what would be a better alternative? Maybe I’m just accustomed to them, but while irritating at times they don’t seem all that bad.
It is what it is, is a statement I never heard until I moved here to San Antonio. CON/PRO? The neighborhood you live iin could be one of the nicest, but it will be backed up to slums. Also Neighborhoods often have one way in and out, so you cant cut through a place to get to another place, that makes our traffic horriffic. San Antonio also has a saying,, "We have Summer and Hot Summer". People pray from cold weather. San Antonio is a tourist town, so not only do you compete for road space with the many here, you also have to deal with people who are often lost and do not know how to navigate in our city... also it is tourist driven, so Covid did a real number here and many places shut down. We also have a very HUGE homeless population here, other states ship them in by the bus load to us due to HAVEN of HOPE. That brings a large Drug and mentally ill issue to our tourist areas downtown. I will give him credit on the Trails here, you can almost travel from the far north to the fart south all on trails here. We also have billboards all over advertising for law firms that say HIT BY A TRUCK CALL US, because it happens a lot here. San Antonio is awesome I love it here, the cons are far less than the Pros... we have great FREE ENTERTAINMENT, and also great Paid Entertainment, With Several Theme Parks all around the city, and some of the Best Water Parks either in the city or a very short drive near by.. Not to mention the Coast is just 2 hours away. You could eat 4 times a day for a year and never eat at the same place twice... we have food galore and much of it world class... we are also very diverse here. Shopping we have it all. We have an Amazing zoo, and botanicle garden, not to mention the Coy Fish garden. And he did not mention FEISTA, It has to be experienced first hand... not Covid safe at all but so much fun. You must see the Missions while here, its a must. I could go on and on...If you dont like San Antonio but like the area, we have many smaller towns all around it, that offer the same great living you get living in San Antonio. I dont know this guy, but I have to say he did a great job telling you the good and bad and it seemed to be pretty honest. We do have some unsafe parts to the city you may want to avoid at night...but most cities do... and you learn what those are pretty quickly. Good luck and hope to see you soon.
I work for Tesla in Washington State thinking about relocating to San Antonio Tesla Shit the market for a condominium or townhouse in San Antonio is very affordable.
On the far Northwest side of town in the Hill Country we have large porcupines, hogs, raccoons and deer all over, as well as all the creepy crawlies you mentioned. Accurate on the flooding problems.
Totally agree with everything but the access roads...they are not that bad. I've lived here all my life and the flash floods seasonal and you get use to finding alternative routes. Allergies....probably the 1# con...but like flash flooding....we learn to live with it. They are mangable with the right treatment.
What about the humidity and heat. All I hear from San Antonians is "you should come live here but you will hate the weather, standing outside on a hot humid day is like being in a sauna and all you do is sweat"! Would it be hard for someone to enjoy summer outdoors or work outdoors in that kinda of weather. I live in hot and dry El Paso and it's tolerable but hubs has job opportunity in SA. Not sure I could make it in the weather if its as bad as they say
The summers are brutal, there is no way you can enjoy the outdoors unless you have a pool, I have consider moving out because of this especially when you have kids you can’t really do anything thing outside with them during the day.
All I can say is that, what is too hot for some is not bad for others. SA is the 7th largest city in the country, so the heat is very tolerable for a ton of people. I think the couple of hot months in the summer is very tolerable for the great weather we get the remainder of the year.
Miss Texas everyday, the access roads are the best. Texas does flood but alot of people need to understand that the State really doesn't have any more natural run off. I believe Texas has only one natural lake, 1. The lakes we see everywhere were created by closing up the natural run offs. Good thing is, the water drops as quickly as it rises....unless its a natural disaster such as a hurricane. Overall best state to live and can't wait to get back.
Im from SA and I am not sure what the allergies are like in Dallas but the Cedar is usually high around the Fall and Oak tends to be high during the Fall and Spring months.
I stuck between houston and san antonio one pro i seen san antonio apartments are cheaper houston is more luxury i would say & when he said hiking and trails ik that was for me i’m outside person that like to see nature
From Houston, born and raised. I will say that SA is good for families because of all the theme parks and because of the lack of nightlife entertainment. Cost of living is best in the state, job market is really good, traffic isn't really all that bad, and like you stated it is close to Houston, Dallas, Austin, and Corpus. I think SA is more ideal for families and people who move from smaller towns who want to live in a major city with a small-town vibe. I guess my main knocks for not wanting to live in SA is because of the lack of diversity there, it is a military town, there is only one major sports team and the lack of nightlife, festivals, music scene, theater, museums, etc. Also I'm a huge food person and while I love Tex Mex and Mexican food, I can already get that in Houston, but I hate that SA doesn't have a lot of food choices outside of typical American and Mexican. It's hot everywhere in Texas, so get ready for the heat no matter the city that you choose to live in. It all depends on what you're looking for and the type of person that you are to determine, which Texas city is the best. I saw someone mention crime rate on here earlier and to be honest, every major city will have crime. I almost feel like that's a given, so why even mention it lol Great video though, I'll subscribe to your channel.
Hey Aleem. There are a lot of great places to rent, but you have to remember, SA is a huge city so it depends on what you’re looking for, your budget etc. This is the same with finding a job..in general you can find plenty of employment here.
Just an idea with your schedule Nyerere Tati or if access roads. It’s sounded pretty dramatic. I like bed around the US I believe Texas go it right with access roads.
What area do you prefer in SATX? I didn’t realize there is a lot of trails in the area. I need to check them out. I like that the cost of living is great in SATX especially with 1 income.
I’d love to discuss your needs and help point you to some areas that you might be interested in. Pre-approval will be similar everywhere. It is not difficult if you have all the required docs needed by your lender. It only takes a few minutes.
Please help me understand the uptick in crime? San Antonio is (was) thE BEST city in Texas. Im from Philadelphia, PA and am also an Army Veteran. I LOVE Texas and am living in central Texas now. I have Army friends in San Antonio, but haven’t recently visited them because of the random surge in shootings. I know crime is everywhere, but I’m not used to the news reports coming from there. 😫😫😫
Tbh San Antonio crime issues is based off of a get them before they get me mentality. Yes there are drug issues and some gang issues but really people get killed over random shit like road rage, issues at a club or bar, or petty beefs that people take to the extreme and it happens all over the city. But it’s nowhere near as bad as Philadelphia
Being bilingual with any two languages is always a benefit. I taught myself Spanish just so I could expand my reach and help more people, however I have not heard of anyone being penalized because they were not bilingual. But remember, you’re never too old to learn another language.
@@AlamoCityLiving been here my whole life change of scenery I guess. But phoenix summer gets HOT HOT. All desert landscapes that I'm tired of looking at. The schools are not great. Too many people moving here. Not a lot of culture mostly boring chain restaurants and stuff. We're been talking about relocating but decided to wait a few years. Tbh it's not so bad out here just want something new I guess
Data wise, it's 7% but I have always lived on the northwest side and I'd say it's pretty normal to see black neighbors either American or recent immigrants or refugees. That's something that wasn't touched on in the video. Diversity is huge here in SA, and we are a central receiving location for immigrants and refugee relocation. I've lived here my whole life and I'm used to seeing people of all colors and speaking different languages. I remember being shocked going to visit a school in Austin and everyone was white - I noticed right away. Also when I went to ATL and everyone seemed to be either black or white. It's a great mix in SA. P.S. East side is the center for Black life overall historically.
San Antonio’s black population is pretty low. Especially, in comparison to Dallas and Houston. San Antonio is a majority Hispanic city. Hispanics drastically outnumber any racial group. Houston and Dallas are more balanced with a sizable mixture of black, white, hispanic, etc. Houston being slightly more diverse overall. My brother’s friend is from San Antonio and he relocated to Dallas due to it having a much larger black population.
You forgot to add if you’re not from here it’s hard to make friends. I have been here for six years and never met such people who don’t wave, say hi and keep to themselves. It’s full of transient people and now more coming from CA. I don’t recommend this city.
I’m sorry that has been your experience. Fortunately for most people I’ve met, their experiences have been opposite. I think getting older in general makes it more difficult to make close friends regardless of where you live.
@@AlamoCityLiving yes you’re right. I’m sure it’s harder to meet people and make friends the older you get. I wish we had better luck. Seems like a lot of people are happy living here.
We have a DA that does not want to prosicute anyone, and allows the homeless to run rampant. This also effects how the police opperate in the city... but I have never felt unsafe here.
@@Wesko_Dawg if I were you I’d live in a well know suburb like stone oak, Alamo heights, Leon Valley, etc. the Northwest side of the city is nice for San Antonio standards. But be warned most of the suburbs except for ones outside of 1604 are neighbored by ghettos so once you leave your suburb your gonna be in a high crime area especially if you live off loop 410
Stays uncomfortably hot from may thru sept then is uncomfortably cold nov thru feb and allergies keep me sick a month out of the yr, i can’t wait to leave this godforsaken place
Prepare for extreme temperatures. Always be vigilant, lots of crime. Because SA is in close proximity to Mexico drugs and illegals are plentiful. San Antonio is a Sanctuary city. CPS electric sets rate hikes when the ceo feels like it, so expect Big electric Bills. Cedar fever is real, it can be so miserable that it makes people fortunate enough to literally move out. Traffic? Traffic is terrible ALL THE TIME. The city government is very liberal bordering on socialism. So taxes are high and tax money is wasted 100% of the time. I can't really think of any good things about San Antonio. And as far as bad things well I didn't mention all of them. Move in you'll figure it out right quick.
It’s actually like any other place in the U.S. where people don’t speak Spanish.. It’s not necessary. However, learning another language, especially Spanish is always a benefit.
Dude i am going to have to disagree with you on almost everything. I am a born and raised in san antonio hispanic now 60 yrs old. There is a reason housing is cheap among other things. There is alot of crime and if you are white you wont find a job here. Drive down loop 410 any time of the day and you will see what I mean. Its not the good city I grew up in. Thats why I left it.
The real reason NOT to live in SA is because it’s a blue city. Stupid politicians. I left SA for the county to the north. We don’t have any issues like Bexar county. I never go there and never miss it
San Antonio is all cons, the heat combined with humidity is unbearable culture not for me the people are rude especially when driving the food is subpar at best, two pros the rain and HEB period

Dude, you're definitely right about the roads...on-ramps and off-ramps, and if you miss your exit, you've gotta go in a HUGE circle to go back. It's frustrating, for sure.
Absolutely! You better not be in a hurry and miss your exit lol!
Love his HONESTY about BUGS and FLASH FLOODS, and ALLERGIES.
I loved living in San Antonio. Fiesta was always amazing and united the city. People literally camp out for months to get a good spot to watch the Battle of the Flowers. One man even rented a portapotty since he would be there over a month!
Fiesta is pretty awesome. The food is AMAZING!
All of the areas you named are wonderful. Timberwood Park is also a nice area that has everything you seem to be looking for.
I left SA 31 years ago for work and have always missed it. Johnathan nailed it pretty well on the pros and cons. If you’re sensitive to mountain cedar, get treatment. I like the feeder roads. All large Texas cities have them.
Yes, there are quite a few people that I know who suffer from mountain cedar allergies, but with treatment they’re good to go.

Born n raised here been back n forth to Louisiana hands dwn nothing like my hme twn
Us Texans seem to always find our way back home.
I never realized the flash flood thing until I went somewhere else and people freaked about a flash flood alert.
I was born in Russia and raised in San Antonio. I lived there until I was 5 years old. I really wanna live there again.
No! Please it’s ok, don’t…

However I LOVE TEXAS and fell in love with this state since 1999❤️❤️❤️
Very informative 👏🏾 thanks
You’re welcome J shun! I appreciate the feedback 👍🏾
Wonderful video! I just subscribed.
Well this made my day. Thank you Barbee family!
I feel much of your frustration about the feeder/access roads, but what would be a better alternative? Maybe I’m just accustomed to them, but while irritating at times they don’t seem all that bad.
At this point there’s nothing that we can do, but it would be nice if they didn’t exist to the extent they do in Texas.
Very well said Mr. McDowell 💯
I work for Tesla in Washington State thinking about relocating to San Antonio Tesla
Shit the market for a condominium or townhouse in San Antonio is very affordable.
Come on down, we’d love to welcome you to San Antonio. Yes, we are much more affordable than Washington.

Dude, you and I both need to get out of WA! Gas just hit $5.19!
On the far Northwest side of town in the Hill Country we have large porcupines, hogs, raccoons and deer all over, as well as all the creepy crawlies you mentioned. Accurate on the flooding problems.
When I was on the northeast side we had scorpions. Thank God we don’t deal with them where I live now.
Totally agree with everything but the access roads...they are not that bad.
I've lived here all my life and the flash floods seasonal and you get use to finding alternative routes.
Allergies....probably the 1# con...but like flash flooding....we learn to live with it. They are mangable with the right treatment.
I’d have to agree with you on the allergies, they’re no bueno! (Jonathan)
Thank you so much for this video. My husband and I are actually planning on moving down there in the next couple months from Northern New Mexico.
That’s great Jade! I think you two will love it. Let me know how I can help.
Loved it 😊
Are the allergies in San Antonio worse than the allergies in Dallas?
Im from SA and I am not sure what the allergies are like in Dallas but the Cedar is usually high around the Fall and Oak tends to be high during the Fall and Spring months.
@@fairyshades Ok...thank you for the feedback.....
Yes. San Antonio is one of the very top cities in the USA for allergies.
Thank you :)
You're very welcome!
Great Video! Quick questions! Whats some good places to rent? and is it easy to get a job there?
Hey Aleem. There are a lot of great places to rent, but you have to remember, SA is a huge city so it depends on what you’re looking for, your budget etc. This is the same with finding a job..in general you can find plenty of employment here.
Im in north central SA now and them little ants annoying lol gets some home defender
Definitely have to keep up on pest control. Treating the yard is just as important.
Lots of retired vets and 1st responders, great hospitals, schools, isn't wheelchair accessible in the city
SA definitely has a lot of retired vets. Many first responders (fire and police) are veterans. I think that has been a good thing for the city.
I really like the NW and far west areas. I’m a big fan of hills and trees, and these areas are very pretty to me.
HOWARD W. PEAK GREENWAY TRAILS connect multiple trails together across town
I want to move too San Antonio next year
I'll be out to visit on the 4th of may, if I love it I'm moving. How hard is it to get approved to buy a house?
I’d love to discuss your needs and help point you to some areas that you might be interested in. Pre-approval will be similar everywhere. It is not difficult if you have all the required docs needed by your lender. It only takes a few minutes.
My friend on xbox is moving here so i was trying to ser why anyone would wanna move here from somewhere else lol
In some cities you are penalized for not being bilingual. My question is does that factor into the San Antonio job?
Being bilingual with any two languages is always a benefit. I taught myself Spanish just so I could expand my reach and help more people, however I have not heard of anyone being penalized because they were not bilingual. But remember, you’re never too old to learn another language.
Well....u get to go to the river walk and watch Texas Bushman scare the crap out of folks!! Thats a Pro!😅
Lots of badass trails in SA
JOBS! YES!
The pros are the nice suburbs

Well you’re definitely in the right place 😉
San Antonio;s good points are like telling yourself if some maniac drowns you in a lake at least you will be cooled off from the heat.
So there’s a lot of snakes? They would just go inside or something??? 😅
There are definitely plenty of snakes in Texas, but I’ve ever only seen a few the whole time I’ve lived here.

Access roads are a pro lol
I'm ready to leave phoenix az. San Antonio is a possibility.
My wife and I thought about moving to Phoenix once. What makes you want to leave Phoenix?
@@AlamoCityLiving been here my whole life change of scenery I guess. But phoenix summer gets HOT HOT. All desert landscapes that I'm tired of looking at. The schools are not great. Too many people moving here. Not a lot of culture mostly boring chain restaurants and stuff. We're been talking about relocating but decided to wait a few years. Tbh it's not so bad out here just want something new I guess
What’s black population in San Antonio, asking because I’m African American for any one who care.🙏🏾
@@AngelaSealana thanks Angela just also trying meet new people around the area
San Antonio’s black population is pretty low. Especially, in comparison to Dallas and Houston. San Antonio is a majority Hispanic city. Hispanics drastically outnumber any racial group. Houston and Dallas are more balanced with a sizable mixture of black, white, hispanic, etc. Houston being slightly more diverse overall.
My brother’s friend is from San Antonio and he relocated to Dallas due to it having a much larger black population.
i just moved months ago. and i already wanna leave lol
Really? Why?
Is it because of the weather?
Why
Metro, you gotta be kidding! Sheesh!
How's the crime? I heard its crasy down there.

Frontage roads.... i hate em so much. And im from texas.
Cool
How is it there for black and for white ppl who don’t speak Spanish? But are open minded and willing to learn….
It’s actually like any other place in the U.S. where people don’t speak Spanish.. It’s not necessary. However, learning another language, especially Spanish is always a benefit.
@@AlamoCityLiving Alright thanks
San Antonio has gotten crowded
Dude i am going to have to disagree with you on almost everything. I am a born and raised in san antonio hispanic now 60 yrs old. There is a reason housing is cheap among other things. There is alot of crime and if you are white you wont find a job here. Drive down loop 410 any time of the day and you will see what I mean. Its not the good city I grew up in. Thats why I left it.
What state/city did you move too?
I moved to Utah, from San Antone myself…. San Antonio isn’t very progressive. It’s the biggest city with no rail system, just the city bus (via)
San Antonio is a Shthol&, went through there last year and it's nasty
Jenna, I’m sorry your experience hasn’t been pleasant. I don’t hear many people say this. What part of town do you live?
The real reason NOT to live in SA is because it’s a blue city. Stupid politicians. I left SA for the county to the north. We don’t have any issues like Bexar county. I never go there and never miss it

& dnt forget...You Better know your Spanish.

It's not necessary but for hospitality, service, and other jobs it can be a deciding factor whether or not you're bilingual.
Not much crime
San Antonio is all cons, the heat combined with humidity is unbearable culture not for me the people are rude especially when driving the food is subpar at best, two pros the rain and HEB period
