I have to agree with going to every garage sale. Its so important that if you are going to go to sales, to never write them off as junk. The only ones I write off by sight alone are furniture only sales (we have alot of that in this area). I always look for coins, video games and most importantly older Magic: The Gathering cards.
Yeah! I do as well, but they arent my primary. Its hard to really find cards that are a good condition for pokemon because kids handle cards different than the teens/adults that magic appealed too.

So very true, 2 years ago I drove from Colorado to Florida to spend Christmas with my brother from another, who is also my best pickin buddy.and his lovely bride. They had just moved down there from Colo within a few months of my visit. Long to short, we hit up some yard sales in an area unfamiliar to him and they happened to be in a really bad meth part of Tampa. Learning curve achieved and a little disappointed , we decided to call it beer 30. On the way out of this neighborhood there was one sale left and you could see it was being put on by two little ladies (Widows )and definitely not the crack head types. Although it looked like a ladies sale of knick knacks, clothing, tupper.....etc. I made him stop, he humored me, but did get out to look. Well that day, I ended up with a Smith Wesson collection of 7 pistols all different calibers for $390. I offered more but they wanted them out of the house. Its true, if one puts forth the effort, sometimes that effort will get rewarded in spades. Sorry about the novel.
That jersey 50p is not technically legal tender in the UK but you can't tell them apart from the UK ones without close examination. I find one non-uk coin roughly every few months.
The sister of a friend of mine went to a garage sale in New Hampshire and bought a tin box with metals, Coins & buttons etc. Inside was a 1776 PEWTER COIN with the 13 colonies on it. It had only one ( R ) in the word Continental (Curency). My friend wanted to give it to me. I had to tell him what he had. I think a good one right now is worth about $8000.00.
Had to up my game since my local antique dealer closed for good...place used to sell me scrap silver for £3 a oz and I bought a few grams for gold for a few pounds before, I bought out the rest of the silver for about melt (a lot of saleable items but melt is still an option in the worst case scenario)
yo i watch a lot of your videos wile i stoned af and not gonna lie that compressor that starts going off in the background was freaking me the fuck out because i thought someone was in my garage lmfao
I don't now if it has been mention but those £1 coins are not accepted anymore, they have been recently changed along with the £2 coin and £5 and £10 notes
the baliwick of jersey 50p is not from jersey it is a special edition 50p they do those in the uk I have a small uk coin collection myself and that Is quite a rare coin in the uk especially as it is no longer valid and is not in circulation no more as we have updated the currency since.
You have some Two Pence coins from the U.K. Check if any of them are a 1983 "New Pence", If so you have a mint error 2p coin The 2p coins should be :- 1971 to 1981 "New Pence" From 1982 "Two Pence".
Several years back, I stopped by a garage sale where the person had 11 American Silver Eagles for sale. "How much for your American Silver Eagles?" I asked. The reply was "It says $1, so $1 each." I bought the whole lot. Later, I was at a local coin show and sold them to a dealer for $13 each.
Nice find! But, how do you find these type of sales? Everytime I look online or go to garage sales its overpriced or at retail. Do you use any special sites or do you just live in an area that has these good sales?
You have to hit a lot of sales and get lucky...I bought a gold ring last year at a table top sale right towards the end of the day that other people had looked at and left behind so I was expecting either it was a fake or they were asking retail but it had full hallmarks for 9kt gold and was only £10 ($12-13)...I pulled the CZs out and sent it to my refinery for £17
I feel like you. I went to a sale and there was so much silver coinage and other coins. Unfortunately, it was a hired guy and he wanted way too much. Got a small Canadian folder with a couple Indians, but nothing extravagant. Unfortunate when the people don't want to come to a realistic price. I would buy this no doubt though, I love foreign money and collect it, so this is practical for me too.
It's very frustrating. It's happened to me many times. I once had a bag of 50 morgan dollars that a lady was selling at a garage sale, but she wanted $40 each :(

Had to up my game since my local antique dealer closed for good...place used to sell me scrap silver for £3 a oz and I bought a few grams for gold for a few pounds before, I bought out the rest of the silver for about melt (a lot of saleable items but melt is still an option in the worst case scenario)
Man, sounds like not a bad deal you had there
@@Silverpicker it was great...my oldest scrap piece was from 1837

I could never have that luck
I don't now if it has been mention but those £1 coins are not accepted anymore, they have been recently changed along with the £2 coin and £5 and £10 notes
Yep, my bad
@@Silverpicker Np, just putting it out there for the pll who didn't know
I don't travel but i'd still buy it. I would literaly sell most of the junk online.
Also a good option!
There was a state quarters book in the last one too.
In the last what?
@@Silverpicker in the last garage sale
Im not a traveler but i would still pay $10 for all that just to have it and share with others. They r great conversation pieces.
Really cool buy in the end!
Cool finds
Thanks!
i would have spent $10 just on the album of paper currency, so nice finds
Awesome video my friend 😀
shoulda also picked up that used steam iron - you need it.
Definitely Yes
the baliwick of jersey 50p is not from jersey it is a special edition 50p they do those in the uk I have a small uk coin collection myself and that Is quite a rare coin in the uk especially as it is no longer valid and is not in circulation no more as we have updated the currency since.
Thats awesome!!
The coin is from Jersey not a special edition of a UK coin. It is legal tender in Jersey that is why is hard to find in the UK, not that rare.
Oh ok sorry my mistake I just thought that they were special edition as you don’t see many in the uk
Awesome, I would have plunked 10 bucks down for that one.....
Such a low stakes investment anyway, right
@@Silverpicker You do the right thing....one day someone will part with something very valuable and not know it....
Oh yes I would buy. Love foreign coins. 😊
Aren't they so interesting!?
You have some Two Pence coins from the U.K. Check if any of them are a 1983 "New Pence", If so you have a mint error 2p coin
The 2p coins should be :- 1971 to 1981 "New Pence" From 1982 "Two Pence".
That must have felt great! What a score!
Nice find! But, how do you find these type of sales? Everytime I look online or go to garage sales its overpriced or at retail. Do you use any special sites or do you just live in an area that has these good sales?
I use craigslist to find the sales, but it's really more about going to a lot of sales and consistently going every week
I once had a bag of 50 morgan dollars that a lady was selling at a garage sale, but she wanted $40 each :(
@@Silverpicker That sucks. Were they even in that great of condition? Or worth only like 15-20 each?
I have that ten rupees note like right next to me When I was watching this I was like wth.
lol nice
