Then left sakura with only the jutsu she had from the academy. got lucky that Naruto found Pervy sage because he ditched Naruto as well. then didn’t do much to get Sasuke back, the one kid he actually trained and gave a jutsu. Naruto found jiraiya himself. the one kid he taught a single jutsu to left the village became a rouge ninja and joined the person that killed the third hokage and destroyed most of the village. dude didn’t even try that hard to get saskue back. Bad sensei one of if not the worst in the show. Love kakashi he is my favorite character but not for his teaching ability.

Y’all gotta remember that kakashi wasn’t a strict teacher because of his actual methods he’s strict because of his philosophy. His test is relatively easy to pass, all you gotta do is work together, it’s just that everything this kids are taught runs contrary to that ideology. The mission is above all else and ninja are taught to be callous and emotionless. Kakashi’s philosophy is antithetical to that and so almost nobody passes aside from team 7. It wouldn’t be out of the question if you were in one of his groups and made your team work with you or atleast showed your willingness to collaborate that he’d pass your team or just you specifically. After that your home free and under the best case scenario he takes you alone as a pupil, something canon to the series. Kakashi also isn’t a bad teacher, he was just rarely given moments to show his skill, so your gonna be a powerhouse. Mihawk is probably the worst since if you die he couldn’t care less.

Kakashi is worse than your description. Even after Naruto and Sakura passed his test, he treated them like crap and effectively abandoned them. Aside form "teamwork" where he just had them do D-Ranks together, and treewalking, when they needed to get a bit stronger to stand a chance against Haku, he just ignored them in favor of Sasuke.
Sakura was barely better than an academy student until Tsunade shows pity on her. And if Kakashi had bothered to tell Naruto about the potential for training with shadow clones BEFORE the 3 year time skip (I can't believe he wouldn't have figured it out beforehand) Naruto would have been Kage level at least by the time of Shippuden.
