    Just ordered your templates online! I can’t wait to try them out. I made one myself and it turned out great but these templates will make it quick and easy!

    Great design! Really like the versatility of making this to hang on the wall or sit on a table. Nice job!

    Very nice! I'm thinking of building a few of these for my husband and I's first two deer, with oiled dark walnut.

    Do you happen to remember what finish you used on this!? Or maybe one that you found and are sticking with?

    Very nice build. I can’t seem to find the downloadable plans for this on your website. Do you still have them on there. If not could you please send me a link to get them. Thanks

    What finish?

    What size dowel rod do you use for the skull to hang on ? I don't see the size in the PDF.

      Really whatever seems good to you. Don't go too small or it won't be strong enough. Go as heavy as you can but still fit easily in the hole. 3/8 to 7/16 is usually good.

      @@GunflintDesigns I found a 3/8" piece of Red Oak dowel in my shop and it worked great. Thanks so much.

      I was also looking for the plans if you wouldn't mind sharing them. This is a very nice project, it is by far my favorite one I have seen yet. You do an awesome job. I sent you over an email lastnight man! Much respect 🤜🤛

    This is a fantastic video! I love the detail and use of your jigs and templates too. Great stuff!!! What is the type and brand of countersink bit you used in the drill press?

    • @GunflintDesigns
      @GunflintDesigns  8 років тому

      I got those bits off of Amazon. They are: Irwin Tools 1882792 SPEEDBOR Countersink Wood Drill Bit, 8-Piece

      Awesome! I'll look into them. Question about mounting bigger species. How much bigger are your mount and shield for an elk?

    • @GunflintDesigns
      @GunflintDesigns  8 років тому +1

      I have only built one elk plaque so far and it's is a bit undersized, even on a small elk. I made that one 35% bigger. If I were doing it again I would try 45-50% bigger. And because of the weight difference, I would either do a double keyhole in the back to hang it, or work in some metal hardware just to be safe.

      +Justin Prewitt I don't have anything ready to go at the moment, but it wouldn't take me much to put something together. I'll get back to you in a couple of days.

      I can't wait to see it! FYI - this template is the right size for pronghorn and bighorn sheep as well, but the peg has to be put in at a different angle for each one.

    Just found this video. I love this project and saw someone ask if you have pdfs. If you still do, would you be willing to share them? Your channel is fantastic, by the way. Very cool designs and projects!
