In short: Blizzard is not planning on putting any effort into improving PvP, while pretending they talk about it all the time - they're just making a new battleground and that'll be it for the expansion.
I don't even want new Battle Grounds, I would rather just have re-skins for the handful of BGs players actually enjoy. Like a goblin-themed Arathi Basin.
If Blizzard had any big interest in PvP there would could have been so much more many years ago. The amount of work that goes into it is barely nothing. They could employ any of the PvP streamers, like Ven and he would probably get 10x more shit done in even a fraction of the time.
Watching Vens content is pretty much the only thing I still do in regards to WoW PvP, otherwise I dropped it completely because there really is no point in that pile of steaming shit we have to deal with for idk how many years now.

@@Da5kone001 Because they put it into the game, so they need to support it. If they didnt want it to be a game mode, they wouldn't have added it nearly 20 years ago. There is a player base, and it would be a lot better if they actually took care of it.

I got like 15 minutes in and felt so frustrated that every question was more less danced around.
Did this guy have anything to share? It seems like Venruki and the rest did a great job with preparing questions related to the specific problems PvPers are facing. Every answer -"Wow great question, yes we are definitely thinking about that, but I can't provide any actual comment. Its an ongoing conversation, I cant share anything"
Spoiler: They are not even thinking about it. They will release the expansion as is and hope we still swallow all the issues and pay up the monthly tax.

I use to get upset about the lack of communication from blizzard but the way they dodge meaningful questions in interviews is way more upsetting then no communication. This interview was only a marketing attempt and that seems to be the only time they really interact with the community

There is a large amount of options for them to fix solo shuffle queues and interface clutter, they just choose not to explore them at all. Their own recent poll showed that about 20% of players still view PvP as their main content, which means they are still making millions with monthly subscriptions alone through PvP. Even a full rework of all healers through more PvP talents should be an easy choice if that's what it takes to fix the queue times. Let alone easier solutions like better balancing or more rewards. It just literally seems like they don't even have a single person working on it at all times. This guy seems like he doesn't even know how to spell PvP. The monthly subscription should be easily enough to justify larger changes and a team working on it at all times, but if they don't even change a couple spells or rewards for the 50$ expansion (literally as much as multiple other games combined) that's just a different meme level.

This was an absolute disaster of an interview. It's clear they don't care, and even if they did care, they did such a horrible job of expressing it (and not giving any insight into internal discussions) that people will assume, rightly so, that they would rather pvp die off.
Example: his answer about "we're discussing changing thresholds to make the majority of rewards more accessible, but we want to keep prestigious stuff prestigious" was a good answer. Other than that he flopped everywhere.

How do make solo que more accessible: two options for Solo Shuffle 1: Normal Player vs Player or 2: only Healer AI Bots just DPS real players. The opt in will let dos play and if they want to wait longer for a real healer so be it
Pvp is what made wow popular back in the day and pvp was the reason alot of people were playing
From this interview I get the impression they are not putting much thought into PVP and its functionality. This current expansion has killed my joy for PVP with these excessive wait times and so on. It appears they intend keep on this path and very little improvement will occur resulting in similar outcomes. This interview may be the nail in the coffin for me as it pertains to PVP.
Wow, ill be honest this is the first comment from someone who actually can listen. I agree with you, and you're spot on. They invest $0 into PVP which is actually the right thing to do.
Lets not pretend that WoW is a great PVP game, just throw a new random BG as a bone to few dozen people that actually play PVP and concentrate on selling store mounts and wow tokens.

PvP tier sets are lame, class design shouldn't change every season for every spec like this.
@@manthe3711 Static PvP tier sets that aren't tied to PvE are awesome (i.e. whatever they had up until and including WoD). PvE tier set bonuses in PvP that change every season and are almost entirely designed around what's fun/good in PvE is awful.

This interview fills me with a sense of hopelessness moving forward. Competitive/Ranked PvP feels like an afterthought at this stage.
Ask them if they think it’s a good idea to go months on end with out adding any changes or tuning then show up like a drunk uncle say some random shit maybe a few ppl agreed with while making everyone else mad then disappearing like a dead beat dad who stepped out to go buy some cigs but still sends you a birthday card every other year with 5 dollars in it.

Damn, that was so underwhelming to hear unfortunately. It looks like they will take pride in creating a new battleground, rather than address arena issues.
Looks like we will continue our ride into the abyss for another 2 years at least.
After watching this, it feels like the important answers were more danced around rather than answered. Seems like PVP (arena) isn’t really cared about, still looks like we are still going to have to do chores rather than play the game, different PVP tier sets arnt being looked at (not game breaking but cmon). Doesn’t feel like anything that is needed to be changed is changing. I personally havnt played since last season and after watching this I can’t really see me getting excited for things being fixed and getting back into the game.
I like how this guy starts the interview with the disclaimer that he’s only a producer, not a designer. Makes it a lot easier for him to avoid important questions like the 3/3 healer one.
Question: why is it so hard to give enhancement Shaman a decent buff which isnt something about the healing spells, because its useless with dampening?
What are they doing to bring new players into pvp? All of the best rewards are for rated or higher level players.

normal rbgs are already in the dirt. most certainly will be dead dead when this comes out which is sad. I play with a dungeon size group of players and it looks like the only thing we will be able to do is normal bgs. which gets boring quick as norms just feel like pve lol

Why bother do a interview if the only thing you can answer is about the new battleground. The community deserves more tbh. Im not asking for a lot, but something that makes people want to que, even if they are stuck on 1800. A seasonal pass or something to get hyped about. Maybe in asking for a lot, dont even know anymore.
More opportunity in the future for what? For them to placate by saying, "good question. I don't know. I'll have to find the other guys and bring it up." ??? There is no intent to address pvp at all let alone communicate about it.

George, if you want to inventivize group content despite solo q being more accessible, here's two very natural solutions :
1. different rewards with in both brackets
2. inflate group content MMR to make it feel like the rewards are more attainable in group content.

People have been asking for a Team Death match forever now. I wish they would listen to the bg players. First team to 50 kills wins. Instead we get these big maps and a bunch of chickens with their heads cut off.
Regarding his response saying "making healing more accessible in solo shuffle," as someone who primarily pve's I tried pvp in S3 for the first time in Dragonflight (I had done it in the past in previous expansions just when I was bored) and what made me stop was just how often you spend CCd. At lower ranks I am sure it's to be expected that the dps wont be stopping/kicking things as much as they likely do at higher tiers, but I literally was just sitting in Cyclone over and over, into a hunter trap, into a daze, into whatever, and it just wasn't fun. Then add on to it the whispers from people who died raging at you to heal them and I was just like bro...I'm in a tornado non stop what do you want from me haha
It ultimately just got so boring that I just stopped queueing. And keep in mind that, although I don't normally pvp in wow I generally enjoy pvp and play it in other games all the time, it just feels obnoxious trying to do it in wow. Granted I am obviously not the best at it simply from lack of extended experience playing it in wow specifically, but it's honestly so irritating (especially when I play priest because I can't kick anything, I just have to try to duck behind a pillar or get in melee to fear).
Hopefully it improves in War Within so I can give it another go, otherwise I just stick to pvping in the other games I play and just do M+ and raid in wow. It's the only thing the game has to offer for someone like me that doesn't feel beholden to just one game.

No idea who this Neil guy is but I’m a huge fan now. At 22:32 he makes the point of “just because a lot of people play it doesn’t mean they like it better” and that couldn’t be more true. All my friends and I qued solo shuffle and hated every second of it but we just did it because the 3s ladder was fkd and there was no point in playing it. All of us have quit dragon flight. After watching this interview, looks like it was the right choice.

Not sure if this was the right person to interview. I think an actual dev that works on the nuts and bolts would be able to answer more of those specific questions.
So no mmr fix for 3v3?
Mmr is already fixed. Week one had glads in 3v3 and 2600cr in ss. Season 9 of S3 is when that happened. So we are basically starting at week 9. Same with us getting 1300conq instead of 550, and we get 2 sockets per week instead of 1. This is not the problem currently
They have 0 plans other than a bg for the entire next expansion in regards to pvp. Lol how embarrassing and awkward this was
So S1 of WW will be the “same“ as S4 of DF or ….
Glad Neil voiced concerns at the end for sure. Unfortunately sounds like rbgs may fade if that is how they are tackling the situation.

That question at the end about ladder deflation is one of my big concerns and it seems like they have no answer. Titles should be ultra rare, its the nature of glad and grand marshall, but it shouldn't be so delfated that even veteran pvpers who i talk to whove gotten glad once or more arent even close to getting it anymore. So many ive talked to the last few seasons just say yeah dont even try.

Pathetic and disgusting responses from Blizzard. If they "tried to make every season feel the same difficulty" then they need to be FIRED. They FAILED COMPLETELY on that goal. EVery season was HUNDREDS of CR lower than the one before it. "We are happy with PVE tier sets in pvp" ... we used to get pvp set bonuses in older expansions. This is such a pathetic cop out it just made me ANGRY.
Right I was hoping someone would say if your in a group of 5plus you only go vs other premades.... Why get rid of twinking (making q impossible) but let ratedbg pros group up and dominate ransoms just because blizz lets them is the only reason why
