This last week has been insane. I actually had a makeup tutorial filmed for my capsule makeup challenge, but it didn't seem appropriate to upload it. My mind is as far from makeup as it is possible to be right now, and I'm sure I'm not the only one. So I decided to do this video which is using a trick I've been using for years to help myself get re-focused. It's never let me down, and it didn't let me down this week either. If you do still want to see videos for the capsule makeup challenge, let me know :)
I might do a 'organise one drawer\cupboard a day' challenge to help me get some control back, love videos like this that gives me something practical to do that's not overwhelming. Also would love to see your make up vid
I live in Italy, at the core of this epidemic and I've been watching you for years and years. I remember as a young teen wanting to be an artist like you, but unfortunately I had unsupportive parents. Please, upload the make up video, it is more than appropriate to keep us distracted from this situation! I've been watching your older videos and I think I'll take this free time as an opportunity, order some art supplies from Amazon and finally try to replicate that Dragon Jar you made years ago. Thank you for everything ❤️ 🇮🇹
This video is a new favorite. I'm an ICU nurse on a coronavirus unit and I watch your videos on repeat after a shift because your voice is so soothing and it actually helps me come down from the stress.
I keep waiting for you to say "and that's it! you're done!". 💜 Thank you for the great idea. I've shared it with like-minded friends. Stay safe and clean. We're in voluntary quarantine here in Seattle. At least those of us who are paying attention are. 😕
This is so cool! I never stopped to think how small things can make a huge difference, things have been hectic lately and this would be great to try!!! ❤️
I love the idea of keeping each mend to about 15 minutes. I often will use a similar coping strategy, but sometimes get in over my head by taking on projects that are too large, which just compounds the original problem. I think I’ll try to implement your version this week, as we have been instructed as of tomorrow to shelter in place where I live, so I’ll certainly have plenty of time to tackle some things on my to do list! I hope you & your family are safe & well during this tumultuous time. ❤️
I’ve been mending my great grandmothers quilts recently, and I have also struggled with life long depression so it’s been a nice meditative practice. I may just try this challenge to inspire me to tend to other things that need mending 💚
I finally got around to finishing off my skirt that’s been sitting in my to sew pile. I’ve found that it’s what I’ve been doing for the past week. Sewing projects that I’ve abandoned or left, and falling in love with them again.
We've been quarantined for 2 weeks now (my daughter and had a bad flu just before the national quarantine, so we've been locked up a bit longer than our neighbours). I found the thing that helps us stay sane is putting in place and sticking to a routine. We get up in the morning and get ready, eat breakfast together and then we sing a song with the kids, look at the calendar and weather, go for a short walk outside our appartment (early so there's nobody else around), do the homeschooling homework, eat lunch, PE (UA-cam yoga or tumbles on a mattress on the floor). We've found that as long as the kids are content then we are too. To not feel socially isolated we've had video-chat drinks with friends or family. It really makes a big difference.
Doing things in small sections does wonders for my mental health as well, and it keeps my anxiety at bay as much as it can, while working in the local A&E. In the past month or so I also got things done which could have waited, but now are thankfully finished. Painted the balcony, planted flowers and herbs (the herbs are growing maddeningly fast, yay!), ordered some things that were needed in the household, etc. Keep your faith and stay healthy!
Interesting. One fix a day. I can do that :). Well, I have been, more or less. But one specific thing - great! A suggestion for your garden - look for things that will come back year after year. Things like asparagus (I believe you call it sparrow's grass there), artichokes, or whatever will come back year after year in your planting zone. It'll save you a LOT of work. Oh, and sweet potatoes! My favorite crop. You can eat the greens all summer, then the tubers all winter. Keep back a couple of the little ones to start new slips for the next year. Best to you, Klaire. Now, to get these lotus sprouts outside where they belong :)
When you were mending the hat and I heard Self Sufficient Me, I was happy. His gardening brings me joy. Then you mentioned that your garden was coming along. I hope his videos helped. I watch them sometimes just because his voice is so soothing. I'm trying to stay productive. One thing at a time in my kitchen. Cutlery drawer one day. Food containers the next.
Thank you for the challenge, and thank you for being so honest about your mental health. Sometimes depression is sneaky, draining energy and motivation over time and before I know it, I lose several days to the battle in my head. This is such a simple way to stay productive, focused, and in forward momentum. Please do more videos like this, you're an inspiration! 🤗
This was a good idea, I think I'm going to try it from tomorrow tru Friday.... I feel five days is a place to start for me. I hope everyone stays safe, good luck to all💜
Klaire! This video was so relaxing to watch, definitely calming during these uncertain times. Thank you so much for making videos and reminding us all to slow down, take life one step at a time ❤️ it means so much. Looking forward to your Garden video! 🌱 Wishing you a safe and positive week. Thank you.
That's what we started to do too. We are finally home a lot, so all of the left over things are starting to ruin the mood. Instead of cleaning it all (we still have to work a lot from home), we started to have small clean breaks (15-30 minutes). :)
I love this challenge, I did it once with you when you talked about it on Instagram and it really does help with mental state. Bless you for coming up with it
Thank you for this suggestion, I think many of us are having similar thoughts and this is a great way to be productive and distracted at the same time 🖤
Interesting Klaire.... Now that you mention it, I've been wanting to fill in some holes & cracks here & there but was waiting to buy more flex seal in clear.... But for some reason totally overlooked that I've already got the white formula in the meantime & I'll go ahead & use that until I get the other. It's weird how our minds work...& Thank You for sharing these ideas! Glad you're well & all are are safe at your end💜
Thank you so much, I'm in the same mind frame as you. I feel completely uprooted as I live in france but thankfully I've been applying the same challenge to my garden and getting my raised beds ready and planted. Like you and your husband it suddenly feels urgent to get that side of life sorted and ready for the coming crunch... thank you for your video and how genuine you are in it, it makes me feel less lonely in my anxious feelings.
@@KlairedelysArt thankfully, my family and I are good, thank you. Our building is almost 100 years old and not in the best shape so we were really scared when we woke up (waking up in 4D hahaha) but everything is stable. There is damage but it's not nearly as bad as some other buildings and houses in Zagreb and its surroundings. It really feels like we're living in a film ahahaha
Thank you for this. It was very helpful. I have been extremely anxious lately. Will you show how you are doing your raised beds? I am seriously looking at that for my garden as well.
Thankyou Klaire! I raised quail for the first time last year and a good tip is do not use hardwire on the bottom of their coop/box because it cuts their feet up.
Ok, but I super appreciate how you keep things in categories! I keep expecting that when I watch other channels' videos and am surprised/annoyed when it isn't. Like their video title told me the video was about one thing, why is there other stuff here?!
This is such a great idea! Being at home in New York City with the current situation, this definitely seems doable although most of the mending will be my husband’s clothes, lol!!!
Oo quail. I cant wait to see those. Id like to take the challenge. You motivated me today to clean up the yard tools scattered around my back yard. Its supposed to rain for the next week so that was actually really productive. We’ll get through these stressful times. Thank you for your videos. I know its difficult to but we really appreciate it!
im so happy you have found such joy in the challenge^^ i have to try it sometime soon:) i like to do simple fitness challenges like squats or stretching for 30 days and then get myself a item of clothing as i really dislike my wardrobe and never had enough input to figure out what i like:P
Such a fun, motivational challenge! I’m really looking forward to the gardening video, especially since I’m also planning on putting in raised beds in our garden (but oh my, the weeding process is backbreaking work!). Lots of love from Germany 💛
I’m stuck at home now so I’m thinking I’ll implement this amongst catching up on uni work, I’ve noticed that if I start with one small thing I’ll feel accomplished and more likely to do other things for the rest of the day, maybe it means I’ll procrastinate less lol
I am SO glad you uploaded this when you did! I’ve been feeling stuck in a rut with everything going on and having a massive to-do list with no motivation to do it. I’m going to start this challenge tomorrow so I can hopefully get out of my own way and actually get things done. Stay healthy and safe 💕💕💕
Thank you for this video, what a great idea! I agree with you, weekly challenges are better, will definitely do this to help my metal state and get my to do list smaller
Thé challenge for me is to go to work every day , i work in a Private old people home . A little sca red because one of the health staff has just been diagnosed with thé virus . May the angels be there for my husband and me .
Can you talk more about your brushes? Maybe a whole video for them? I want to invest in really nice brushes that will last and preform well and I know yours are nice and I’d like to know more about them if you don’t mind.
Did you consider that these may have been "found" feathers, which the birds have removed themselves whilst grooming. I can't imagine that Klaire's sister would have obtained them by torturing birds.

If you find it meditative you should try embroidery. UA-cam has lots of small learner videos that make it easy to learn.

Glad to hear some Aussie gardening represented!!

Your videos help me stay calm during these aftershocks. Love from Zagreb, Croatia!
Oh good grief, are you ok? I heard about the earthquake there yesterday.

I love to organize and for me I find organizing relaxes and peaceful
I honestly might do this. Fixing things/cleaning things makes me feel better. Brilliant idea!
Thankyou Klaire!

The music in this video is so so relaxing. Thank you. Hope you're ok x
I have a huge head too but love hats! 😅 and great video, thank you for the advice and calming video.
This is the best idea I've seen for staying sane so far, thank you Klaire!
Thank you for this video, what a great idea! I agree with you, weekly challenges are better, will definitely do this to help my metal state and get my to do list smaller
Love this mend one thing a day. I kinda wanna (and should) do this as well. 💜
This is a great idea🙌
This was such a lovely video. Thank you xx
Such a great idea! I've been laid off so this is a fantastic way to stay motivated! ❤
Brilliant! That's a great suggestion!
It’s a good idea . Thanks , I might try it
That's great. Thanks for the inspiration!
Big hugs to you Klaire! Stay safe~~ This challenge reminds me of #buildaladder 😀 It's a similar idea but not with mending things.
Love all your vids Klaire
I love the Song in the background. Whats the name of that beautiful song?
Thé challenge for me is to go to work every day , i work in a Private old people home . A little sca red because one of the health staff has just been diagnosed with thé virus . May the angels be there for my husband and me .

this seems really nice! is it ok to tag you on instagram if we choose to do this?
I should do this except with all my growing amounts of homework for online class 😏 except I think that’s what homework is for 🤔
I love those shark tooth earrings
She's look sad.
Fun challenge, but the feathers disturbed me. you know animals get tortured for their feathers right?
Did you consider that these may have been "found" feathers, which the birds have removed themselves whilst grooming. I can't imagine that Klaire's sister would have obtained them by torturing birds.
They were found feathers
