DUNE PART 2 Reviews Call It A MASTERPIECE! - Розваги
The Dune Part 2 reviews have dropped and they are pretty stunning. I break down everything said by those who have seen the movie.
My expectations just keep getting higher. At this point I’m expecting to see the best movie ever
Expectations are the thief of joy. Here's hoping it really is the best movie ever made. 🤞
Florence Pugh not in it much, kind of like how it was for Zendaya in the first one. I half-expected that. though she seems to be in it enough and obviously her role is important to the story.
She’s barely in it in the book, so it should be more than that. She’ll have a much bigger role in Dune Messiah
These reviews are exactly how Part 1 had me when I watched it for the first time on Netflix 🤯 Part 2 is a MUST SEE in theaters!
😮
Part 1 is must seen in theaters!
You should watch the re release of part one in cinemas first. Amazing stuff
Seeing it this Sunday for the first time. To get ready for part two in theaters. Clearly I’ve been sleeping on this, because I saw the trailer in theaters of part 2 and I was just speechless.
@@frozone-yeah you’ll have An amazing time. Let us known what you think of it. Just get immersed by the world building
@@JezzaBondiBeach Will do. I will make a mental note to express my thoughts, but do be warned I tend to ramble when I’m in on my feelings. 😅😂
My local cinema is doing a double feature so I get to see part 1 again immediately before I see part 2. It will be interesting to do a direct comparison.
Holy shit you gonna be in there for like 6 hours
@@asherkaye4891 Yes indeed but it's a sacrifice I am willing to make.
My sons, hubby and I sat through the original Star Wars Trilogy, in one sitting 😂😂 it was great! Lol
I WISH my local theater was doing this
That sounds really great
I would be interested to see a double feature such as your local cinema is doing
May I ask ? The location of the theatre ?
I honestly hope Dune dethrones Star Wars as the next sci fi epic.
Two different audiences though. Star Wars is for kids… dune is for adults. Both can do well
@JezzaBondiBeach I know many more adults that like Star Wars then kids.
@@charlieyellowstone8248 I only know kids that like Star Wars. It’s very basic for that young audience. Which is a good thing. Something for everyone
@@JezzaBondiBeach I understand 👍
@@JezzaBondiBeachWho the F says Star Wars is for kids? Have you been living under a rock?
I’m so amped for this movie! Me and my best friend got tickets to an early screening next Sunday.
thanks for adding such copious content……your contribution is just INCREDIBLE! keep up such good, hard, and focused work! the entire world thanks you! cant wait to see you comment again and let us know how you felt!
As a fan of the books, I am happy that the reviews turn out pretty good. But hearing the words, they are almost exaggerated that I am afraid my expectations would be too high when I go see it.
Dinner was great but, the spoons could have been placed a 1/4 more to the left.
I must not hype, hype is the mind killer
I’m so excited, I can’t wait!
Can't wait to see the movie
Look at the last 5 movies in Villeneuve's portfolio, all absolutely stunning
He's the master of the genre. No peers.
My favorit is Arrival. Although Incendies and Sicario was superb too. I'm not yet saw blade runner 2049
@@akuhappy3246 I just cry all the way through Arrival lol It's so effortlessly sad
@@akuhappy3246 omfg see it immediately!
@@NickHunter effortlessly mourning too hiks the feels stay on for days back then
The amazing reactions are making me a very happy man. Can't wait to see it (was already excited anyway)
I’ve never witnessed social media reactions like this… I need this movie NOW !!!! Haha. I think I’ll be seeing it a few times in the cinema 🔥 didn’t think we would ever get an epic movie again after LOTR trilogy, man I was wrong
I saw lots of media reactions like this after early previews of The Creator. Here's hoping they stick the landing with Dune: Part Two. They have a LOT of ground to cover in one film.
@@tronam in Dennis we trust 🤙🏼
@@tronam creator reactions were nothing like this. Lots commented it was stunning visuals with lackluster story
I'm getting LOTR vibes from these early reactions, and I'm all here for it !!!
LOTR was a good series,,,,but world reactions weren't nearly on this level of praise
@Iacon40k Well, back then, Fantasy was not associated with high-quality huge budget hollywood films but more with more "cult" or children's films like Neverending story or The Dark Crystal or Labyrinth.
Took a while (the entire trilogy in fact) for the academy to award the films all the Oscars it deserved and for critics to fully appreciate what Peter Jackson and his team had done.
Today, mature Fatasy and Science fiction has become mainstream and widely recognized as a genre deserving of the highest praise and not just a niche thing.
I don’t know about you guys and gals but anytime I have a chance to watch dune I take it. It never gets old and time seems to flow away I can’t wait to enjoy the next installment. It’s refreshing to have a movie that doesn’t try to throw their views down your throat and actually tell an amazing story.
DUNE Part 1 was my favourite cinematic experience since Lord of the Rings and I'm happy this cements that belief and I also was concerned that Lord of the Rings was going to be the peak of the movie industry and that we would never get another movie series and movie maker deliver on that level ever again. I'm going to go out on a limb and say that DUNE Messiah (Part 3) is now locked in and will win the Oscar for best picture & director.
Dune Messiah is the second book in the series. It’s not part 3.
@jimhoover7345 Yes, I know, and the original DUNE book wasn't released in two parts. We are talking about a movie trilogy and a story/character arc that ends with DUNE Messiah so from that perspective the third movie is DUNE Part 3 and from what I have read that is what they will be calling the third movie which makes sense if they want to make it clear the third movie is a continuation and conclusion to the trilogy and if they don't want to use the M word in the title.
@@SoshiMECH that’s still not correct. Part 2 is a continuation of three parts of the first novel. You don’t call The Hobbit movies part one, two, or three. Even though The Hobbit is just one single novel. It’s the same thing with Dune. The first novel has three parts to one single book. Why would “they be scared to use the M word?” When the whole main point to Dune is religion and politics.
@@jimhoover7345the novel is being split into two movies, not 3. The third movie will be based on Dune Messiah, the second book.
@@midnightbloomofeorzea7182 I’m confused because I thought that was my point. I thought I was explaining to the op that Dune Messiah will not be part three. That Dune Messiah is the second book of the series. I also thought I said part 2 is a continuation of a three part series of the first book
it's the Empire Strikes Back of its time
i'm gonna freaking cry. I CAN'T WAIT TO SEE THIS MOVIE!!!!!!
I am so looking forward to this, the first was beautifully filmed and great entertainment.
I have the good fortune to live less than 5 miles from one of the few 70mm IMAX screens, and my tix to see this epic in that format have already been reserved...can't hardly wait
Amazing: I watched both of the previous movie renderings of this story...and I read the books decades ago. So...I knew just about EVERYTHING that was about to happen. BUT....I was STILL enthralled by this movie!
I thought when you see a pre screening, you can't share you opinion. I'm a bit biased about all this pre hype.
Welp... guess im investing in hundreds of those lego sets and keeping them sealed lol
I can't wait for Dune 2, it's my movie of the year.
The one guy quoting how he understands how everyone felt seeing Star Wars for the first time back in '77... that's got some HILARIOUS irony value for those who know the history between Dune and Star Wars.
I trust and believe Denis made a masterpiece...but as a fan of the book (SPOILERS):
Evil Toddler Alia BETTER be the one to kill the Baron. Anything else would be sacrilege! I don't care how they do it with cgi and motion capture with Anya Taylor Joy. It's only proper!
they are confirmed to have used mo-cap in this movie because there is a mo-cap producer credit on the IMDB page. not sure what they used it for but obviously something.
Prepare to be disappointed then
@@hypatia137 I was thinking the same thing
@@Moneo_Atreideswho killed the baron??
Spoiler:
We DON'T see toddler Alia. Anya Taylor-Joy is only shown in visions. Paul kills the baron.
The last film to have me this excited was 'Inception'. Underneath that was the 'Avengers: Infinity War' saga. The state of Hollywood has fallen that far off to the point where its sad.
I need to watch that again
@@RomboutVersluijs 'Inception', much like 'The Matrix', was absolutely GROUNDBREAKING. Upon first look, 'Dune 2' may well be groundbreaking as well.
Great reviews, for what appears to be a great film - ONLY POSSIBLE BECAUSE OF HERBERTS AMAZINGLY GREAT BOOK.
Sooo hyped
I'm old enough to have seen Lynches version. Loved it. Still do. On first viewing I didn't enjoy pt 1. Have watched several times since. Improved opinion. What I've seen on trailers this looks Return of the King extended version epic and quality.
Got my ticket and can't wait to see this movie.. I know its going to be EPIC, definitely will be buying anothet ticket for one viewing will not be enough. ..💖💖💖💖💖💖💖
Remember that Denis Villeneuve movie that wasn't a masterpiece or near masterpiece?
Neither do I.
I can hear the Internet Nerds saying 'We'll see About That' as they warm up their keyboards to rip this movie apart for the views. Lol
Idk who you're referring to because the "nerds" I follow, who are usually critical about Star Wars and Marvel, have been excited for this film.
@@rickylong9033 Cool, I have hope in humanity. Lol
*cracks knuckles*
@@williamgordon XD
Here we go, already people are picking it apart. lol
I am as excited to see the movie as ever, but I hope you don't do any SPOILERS the first week. I'd hoped for more input from you rather than listen to all the reviews you read aloud. The trailers have only confirmed my belief that Part 2 will be epic.
I came very late to this movie, wow, what a great movie, I was blown away. I can’t wait to see Dune part 2 I was mesmerized by it all the story, all the details, the scenery, the music. Not to mention the absolutely great acting.
I came to that SAME conclusion after watching this movie two nights ago. But I reserve comments on movies with my family because there's ALWAYS a difference of opinion. I don't think that will be the case once THEY watch it.
Dune part one is the best sci fic film I’ve ever seen, can’t wait.
Is there supposed to be a part 3 ???
There’s three parts to the first book of Dune. The second Book is Dune Messiah
Dune (the original book) is being split into 2 movies, the first and this. The third movie (that wraps up the story of Paul Atreides) will be based on the second book in the series, Dune Messiah, which itself sort of stands as an extra part to the first novel.
The third book on (Children of Dune, God Emperor of Dune, etc) feature different characters/time jumps, so as far as we know this trilogy (based on the two most interconnected books) is all that is currently planned.
Basically we are getting a Dune Paul Atreides trilogy of movies yes.
@@midnightbloomofeorzea7182 that’s not typical correct to say that Paul’s story ends at Dune Messiah. Paul doesn’t die at the end of Messiah. He comes back as The Preacher in Children of Dune. Just no one knows Paul is the blinded Preacher at first. Also Children of Dune and God Emperor of Dune is not one book. They’re two separate books.
@@jimhoover7345 crazy spoilers bro 😭
@@jarhead3522 it’s not like you can’t read the books.
Denis Vil. Is a F**king Genius!
Why am I getting emotional just by you reading these reviews???😭
I hope they continue on this alternate interpretation as Dune Messiah the book is very depressing .
I predict Dune Part 2 is going to be a epic blockbuster.
Star Wars is for children and dune is for adults… it’s a good thing… something for everyone
I agree, loved SW as a kid, but my I need something more intelligent.
@@markg.7865 exactly mate
Ngl this kind of a shit take
I taking my wife on the first .
I told her it’s a love movie hahahaha
Unsurprising!
I haven't been ready for a movie more than Infinity War and Endgame!
I was at the london premiere. It's quite good but reviews are overhyping it a little.
I was never really overly interested in this franchise but part one was awesome. Why on earth did they have to put Austin Butler in part two?
Tf is wrong with casting Austin? 🤨
What most excites me about this film is the morally ambiguous character of Paul. That he is both heroic but also seems to get corrupted. Films where good and evil are mixed in together in a very messy and human way are far more interesting and exciting and indeed satisfying than films where there is a neat division between "the good guys" and "the bad guys" Wheras star wars is more of a fairy tail Dune is, although science fiction, more of a commentary on human beings in all their disturbing complexity. There is commentary about how hero's if they are ever pure only remain so for a short time before becoming corrupt demagogues and also the dangers of religious fanaticism and how humans can cynically manipulate religion to their own end. There is also commentary about colonialism, the ability to understand but in a way also exploit other cultures and also too about the environment and how that can too be disturbed and manipulated. Looked at another way Dune is also the tragedy of one family - that of Duke Leto and his son Paul and then Paul's children - one of whom turns himself into a superbeing monster to try and save humanity. But is also a brutal dictator ruling with an iron fist. He has elements of Jesus and yet some of the worst dictators and in this paradox is a fascinating character. The family tragedy at the heart of the Dune earlier novels not only effects that family. It effects the known universe.
Cool.
Zendaya's outfit looks ridiculous
Of course it is
Not since Oppenheimer have I been as excited for a film
Too much credit on a director that is changing a classic sci fi novel ! Frank Herbert must be turning in his grave !
As good as it may be, it will not be.. the definitive version.
Its sci fi minimalism ,good in its own right.
Peter jackson would have shown us everything :)! folding space, emperor table dinner scenes etc.
David Lynch dune is back in theatres this sunday and Monday here in rhe usa. Will be going for that as well
Peter Jackson who?
@@creedecriswell634 peter I will show you everything and not skip details or do minimalist stuff jackson
@@npatil85 That worked with LOTR but that doesn’t mean he would fit with Dune.
@@npatil85Denis didn’t do minimalist work in part one of book one Dune. You may or may not have read the book (most of you who make this comment haven’t read the book), but part one is a really long and very detailed part. Yeah I would have loved to seen the dinner scene, but does it really change that much of Dune. No, not really. Peter Jackson left out Tom Bombadil. He also added scenes that were never in the book. So stop it
Peter Jackson did a fabulous job but he also changed entire characters, like adding in Aragorn’s storyline about not wanting to be king and adding Faramir’s temptation for the ring. That’s two changes among many, and let’s not start on the Hobbit trilogy. Villeneuve did amazingly with Dune.
I hope to see "the abomination", per Reverend Mother Mohaim.
Keep in mind Denis was able to achieve it with a budget of "only" 122 millions whereas most sci-fis/actions (Marvel, Indiana Jones, Star Wars, etc) movies is around 300 millions nowadays... without being impressive.
Well that's cause disney is now behind if. If you look at a new hopes budget and what they achived it's way more impressive than dune or even episode 3. It's pure art
@@kecksbelit3300 I was not trying to compare it with the first Star Wars btw, only movies in the last 10 years or so, but yes, the first Star Wars was able to achieve great things with that 11M budget for that time.
Unfortunately it sounds like they're condensing 2 years into 6 months.
Rip toddler Alia.
Everyone keeps saying this. Yet none of you have actually seen the movie yet. Anya Joy Taylor will probably come to The Lady Jessica as a vision inside her head. Which I would be perfectly fine with. They CGI her as a child to kill The Baron. I mean the Sci-Fi channel used an older child actress to play Alia in their miniseries
I love the actor who's playing Alia. What's their name? Oh right it's Anne. Anne MP3.
@@jimhoover7345Spoiler
I heard that Paul kills the Baron
@@ethancoster1324 why would Paul kill The Baron? That makes no sense at all. Alia is called Saint Alia of the Knife because she kills The Baron.
of *course* it's a masterpiece!
4:45 Comparing Dune 2 with SW E3 ... ? Whats wrong with those people?
The Star Wars prequels are terrible. And Dune is at the level we all wished the prequels would be.
Imo The prequels get too much hate. Especially Revenge of the Sith. that one I definitely believe was the best one out of all of them
I love you guys so cute.
Well, Anakin and Paul have similarities. (The fallen 'Chosen one', but at least Anakin finally became 'good' again)
Part 1, big budget, stunning looking, but NOT the greatest story ever told, (better than matrix #4, but that’s not a compliment) so therefore, I have high hopes for Part 2. A couple of obvious problems, was why and how the spice, aided interplanetary travel, also why not put a couple of missiles down the worm’s throats, - and that could’ve given rise to the unknown link between space and the worms. Blah blah blah.
Simps gonna simp.
Of course it is a masterpiece. Oligarchy is so fashionable.
Well Part I was forgettable compared to the original, So Part 2 has to be better, Right! Right! Masterpiece Right!
from the trailers it doesnt look special more like average
the first movie was okay with some good ideas and style and atmosphere still too sterile
Dune 1 was a let down and they praise the sh!t out of it with the sh!t acting , I 'll bet it's more of the same. No doubt a Facedancer plot to mess with the Atreides
Austin Butler as Feyd is the only thing I am looking forward to. Not a fan of the rest really
Say what, that makes no sense.
1 looked great & 2 will be the same but... frankly both are crap versions of the books... the fact that Fayd is bald is a clue at how much that was important in the books was left out (hint: Fayd looked like Leto the 1st)
Literally the only complaint was its "A wee bit long".lol
I just saw Oppenheimer, now that's a bit too long.
But you know what’s gonna happen in the future right? I am 26 right now probably by the time I’m 46 they’ll make another remake because Dune got bought out by Disney end. This version of Dune would have Paul as a woman. Who is transgender makes peace with baron Vladimir hearkening somehow add the whole thing would be the sequel trilogy essentially with Paul being Ray.
Nah, get over your little hissy fit
Are you feeling well OP? I'm actually kinda concerned for your mental well being, no joke.
Mental health issues are serious business and if you feel lost, please seek the help of a professional if you can, family members won't do.
@@rickymartin4457 the only mental health issue I have is the damage that episode nine caused of Star Wars I just hope the Disney never touches ever dune
@@zaneal-amood5474 Tbh I agree, Disney is poison for any IP right now.
@@rickymartin4457 can we all just agree that that the worst part about episode nine where is figuring out that emperor Palpa teen after he got jacked up with force lightning in became the shriveled. husk apparently love the woman very very much like the birds and the bees because I have to keep this PG-13 had sex with the Sith Lord a woman had sex with emperor Palpa teen
Are you on opiates? Lol
But honestly, how biast are those reviews we see now. Those are probably connections and what not, like favor for a favor.
If it’s being compared to Revenge of the Sith; I’m not too optimistic anymore.
?
Revenge of the Sith sucks
@@VictorIV0310 wouldn’t exactly call ROTS a masterpiece in any regard.
I think the reviewer meant in tone and how young people would have seen that film and been inspired in different ways. Many more reviewers are comparing it to the Empire Strikes Back than ROTS 👍
@@CortexVideos ahh yes, young people pretty much like anything with space and magic and sword fights
But where is the trans message? How can it be the 'best' when it's not made by committee, much less under DEI standards. I just don't understand...
Saw it, but personnaly I got mixed feelings about it (mostly about a change of tone I didn't expect, Stilgar is now funny for example)
I doubt that the tone changed. Can we have nice things?
So does Paul kill the Baron?
If so it sounds like Denis was trying to emphasise his dark turn.
Rip toddler Alia.
