- In this video, I outline how I was able to solve the infamous first Gen K-series Swivel Neck thermostat housing. overheating or Over cooling issues. I found that the 1994 to 2001 integra type R utilizes the same style of "Stand thermostat " that the K-series Swivel Neck thermostat housing uses. By just simply swapping them along with gaskets. Optional if you want to drill extra holes to open the thermostat quicker depending on your application use. This easy and inexpensive upgrade saves you money from having to buy the other K-series Swivel Neck thermostat housing upgrades in the market. I hope it was helpful and informative.
The oem integra type r thermostat gasket "WILL NOT" fit the K-series Swivel Neck thermostat housing, to bulky. try this one, or reuse the old one from the K-series housing of the old stant thermostat.

Disclaimer: A lot of this aftermarket's first-generation Swivel Neck thermostat housing are well know for leaking make sure to properly check and discard faulty seals and use Teflon tape for the plug threads.

Yes sir, no problem
Great info man, thanks.
Thank you 🙏
one thing i found old type bolts direct to the water pump housing with out the plastic section if u dont plan on running heater core
I was going to buy the version 2 ktuned neck that allows you use oem thermostat=$200 but I think I’ll go this route instead thanks for sharing 👍
That's exactly what I was going to do at first. But I starter to research different types of "stand thermostat " designs, like the old v1 utilizes and figure it out.
@@Almostboosted hey quick question are u running AC? ...i see from the video u are not running a PS .....would like to know what size belt you running and radiator fan...(part no etc if u have it) thanks 👍 nice vid, great content

I’m having a similar issue except my kswap civic runs supper cold , so it has to be a type r thermostat? Or will b16/gsr work ?
Yes a gsr and b16 should worke had someone message me telling me that the gsr work for them have the fan kick on much later temp like 190
Very nice info. 🤝 just subscribe
Thank you much appreciated 🙏
Nice! You mind sharing the part number for the o-ring for the integra thermostat?
I had to re use the old one since Integra one is to bulky to fit in the K-series Swivel thermostat housing. Let me see if I could research it and I will update you.
This is a shot in the dark try to see if this one works because it canot be bulky. Stant 27279 Thermostat Seal, Medium a.co/d/iD5y6FE
@@Almostboosted thanks for letting me know
@@Almostboosted I ended up using the gasket that came with the thermostat housing and I used an oem GSR thermostat. Works perfect with no overheating. Thanks again for making this video!
Thank you for the update! I'm glad I was able to help. At what Temps does the GSR thermostat opens?
How many extra holes did you drill on the thermostat and what size hole?
I cut the tap to open up the first hole. Then I drill two 1/8 in extra holes.
So how is it holding up so far?
Is amazing, I drive it in 90° F plus and no overheating. I have the fan quick on at around 185° F and the most it went up to was 190° F
@@Almostboosted nice! Thanks for sharing your tips and tricks with us.
@@alomechanthasinh4079 for sure I try my best to share as much to help others
So this type r thermostat will work with no problem right
Yes, it did for me with zero issues. Drilling the 3 evenly space holes, made it work better.
My buddy in San Diego is running same thermostat as me with no issues.
@@Almostboosted what o ring you use any part number on it if you can help me on that please
So on the o ring I couldn't find the exact one or part number I just reused the one that came with the swivel thermosta
