I've had top set of dentures for over a year I'm 44 years old bad teeth due to diabetes and bad genes like you I was very self concious and depressed before and had a lot of pain
Now I smile can eat most foods and not hide my teeth when I smile and I found your videos when I first started on my denture journey so want to say thank you for helping me through it and like you best thing I did for myself

I agree 100% almost 3 years in. Worth it! My teeth were horrible! Now I smile all the time. Use to be so ashamed and would never smile. Made people think I had an attitude. It was just I was embarrassed by my smile. I wanted to laugh and smile but was embarrassed to. My life is so much better and happier now! I Can Smile! And I love it!!!!

Thank you so much for making these, i was pretty scared at the tought of having to wear dentures one day since i have almost no good teeth left at 28 years old but after watching you talk about your experience my fears are pretty much gone.

omg!!! im sooooo glad I found your channel! So far your my favourite! I'm getting the rest of my teeth pulled out tomorrow and getting immediate dentures put in! I actually have them in a plastic bag with a bit of blue liquid I guess to keep the teeth sterile! I picked them up at the denturist who made them a few days after I got my impressions and bite impression done and wow....they are gorgeous and white and straight!!!! the gums are such a natural pretty pink! I wear a partial right now on the top....im gonna sterilise it and keep it as a souvenir lol!!!! But I'm very impressed with the work he did! They are a shade lower than the other white he has! I'm so scared but your videos are helping me feel better! Eventually, in 6 months, The denturist is turning them into teeth that fit for the implants im getting! I'm so excited! Its gonna be a long process lol! But ive been through worse with my illness that is chronic but getting to the point where I feel ready for another challenge and pain lol! Thank you so much for your videos! I think it was meant to be that I found your channel the day before my procedure with iv sedation lol! Thank you , thank you! You have no idea how much weight watching your videos have lifted such a weight off my shoulders! My hubby is very supportive And so is my family! ok ill stop rambling lol!

Hey Kayla, I am 62 and finally decided it was time! The pain was out of control and it got to where I couldn't eat. Found you the day after I had 18 extractions and immediate dentures placed, only novacaine was used because I had to drive myself to and from the dentist. Guess you can call me a thuGG!! I am 2 weeks out and still can't eat! My mouth is healing great and no pain there, adhesives don't work, they move around even with the smallest bites!! My first soft reline is tomorrow. Hope that will help, I'm so hungry!! I have been watching your journey and it has given me hope that someday I will get to eat a steak and fried chicken again!! My 2 favs!! Wow! Your smile is absolutely beautiful! I am in the process of nailing down my treatment plan (probably going with the all on four dentures) and I’m scared to death, not of the pain but just from the trauma of having all my top teeth removed. I’ve had a couple teeth pulled which wasn’t a big deal but getting all my top done at one time is horrifying. It’s just gonna take a bit to prepare myself for that part. You really made me feel a hundred times better about myself, my shame, and my fears. Thank you so much for putting yourself out there and sharing your story. It made a big difference for me and my decision, which by the way I’m actually excited about now. 😁
You should be excited!!! Especially if you’re going to implant route. You will be playing in a different league, but it’s such a good thing. It’s so natural to feel that way. You wouldn’t be human if you didn’t feel some type of way about it.

I have put a lot of money into my teeth over the years. I had an accident on vacation. I have to go in for upper denture . I am 65 years old and very nervous because my teeth don't look bad.Watching your videos has made my journey of this Much easier for me to accept

I had my extractions on July 10. My dentist does not give his patients immediate temporaries. It was four weeks post-extractions before he started taking molds. When I got my dentures, it took several trips back to the dentist for adjustments and to have him grind out areas to accomodate bone spurs that had begun to protrude from my gums. I had issues putting my lower in. I found myself asking my late father, who wore dentures himself, "Dad, how did YOU do this?"
Since e-day, I've dropped 16 pounds. I'll tell you why. It's not diet and exercise. I still eat what I like. But I find myself desiring less of it. No more going overboard. No more of my sensualist self craving more than one taste at a meal (as in, say, two kinds of sandwiches). Also, it's more of a chore to bite and masticate my food. It's actually tiring. I can only chew so much and for so long. And you know what? I'm GOOD with that. I'm viewing food as sustenance, not as a culinary Bacchanal. This experience has made a world of difference.
I’m sorry it happened like that. That’s precisely the reason most dentist do immediate dentures. It’s the learning process. The trial and error, and healing period. I know how you feel! At first I just wanted to eat everything because I was so hungry. Then it becomes a chore. Your jaw gets so sore, and tired. Like you want to just give it up, and drink the nutrients. I went back and forth for a while. Then things get easier, and you grow accustomed to them. It’s all over from there lol. I have gained so much weight recently, and not by eating. It was actually a serious lack of eating. It’s one extreme or another, it seems. I’m with you though. I just want to eat to nourish my body. The cool inside of me, just can’t let food be flavorless though. I went to culinary school, and it’s a passion for me. Bland food sucks. I hope things do get better for you sweetheart.
@@MyReason2smile Thank you. One thing I can't seem to get over. When I eat, it feels like there's food accumulating along the backs of my lowers. I check and there's nothing there. Drives me crazy. Is it just the pressure of chewing pushing the denture down on my gum and giving me a false feeling?

MyReason 2Smile the 1st year seemed like forever and then it just went by super fast I finally got to a point where I forget I have them but they are getting old and cracked in 2 spots so I really need a new set Im getting the nice bleach shade now waiting on my wax try ins but my 1st set is so basic im hoping to get a upgrade from my boring b1 economy dentures lol

We’re about to start a big journey back to health, and happiness. When I gained my 40 lbs, he gained like 20. We’re getting back, if it kills me. (Hope it doesn’t lol)

I'm 3 weeks into my temp dentures (7 weeks post e. Day) & still can't wear my bottom because it causes ulcers even after being adjusted it's too sore.... so thankyou for this, great to hear such a positive message xxx
It gets better love! The bottoms are like.... the biggest part of the struggle bus. They don’t like to play as a team. At 3 weeks, things have swollen, and gone down. There’s so much shifting. You probably still have all the divots where the teeth were. It’s going to still be swollen at this point. Once all that fixes itself, it’s a little easier to manage.

Thanks for making this video. I am on day 6 of dentures the pain is horrible . I cant eat and talk right . I am happy to know it gets better.
It really does. The first week or so sucks. A lot, then it only sucks somewhat. Then it sucks a little less with each day. You’ll get there

Leslie Belch oh no! What kind of struggles? I have some issues here and there. I’ve been going adhesive free for a couple weeks, and things have definitely been tougher than before! It’s like training all over again. I seriously hope it gets better for you. When the teeth are right, it’s not supposed to be hard.
MyReason 2Smile the same old crap I usually vent to you about lol I think my teeth are too big for my mouth. Nothing holds them in place for more than a couple of hours. I cut the sides of my mouth trying to put them in and therefore I look like I have fever blisters all the time. I tried to go without adhesive but when I laugh they would fall out and that was truly embarrassing as you could imagine. My so called high rated dentist could Care less so without money I am doing the best I can. Have a great Saturday! 🤦♀️❤️

Hi. I just recently had all my teeth pulled and 12 implant put in. They gave me some temporary dentures I am having a very hard time adjusting to them. I have been binge watching your videos to try and get some insight into being able to wear them and eat with them. We are going to visit family for thanksgiving and I am freaking out about what I am going to do. If you have any suggestions it would help. Right now I have been not wearing them at all. I have been doing the face mask thing when I go to the store or to pick my daughter up from school. I know I will have to wear them while on vacation.
Welcome to the family. It’s definitely an adjustment. When I first got mine, I just kept trying. You have a couple weeks till thanksgiving, and a lot can change in a couple weeks. Stay positive. Till then you’ve got to start wearing them love! It’s the best practice. You’ll learn to adapt to, and conform to them. They become part of you. Just another day at the office type thing. Try as many foods as you can. At first cut things into small manageable pieces, and chew slowly. Concentrate on chewing techniques. It’s vital to learn how to work with the teeth. Try and remember this is only tempoRary, and you’re so much stronger than you can imagine. Practice talking, singing, saying the alphabet. Whatever it takes. It won’t be perfect, but you can improve quickly with effort!

I don’t want to sound rude but I really have a serious question. I have been in dentures for 18 months now and I’m wondering... are marionette lines avoidable or does everyone get them? I already dislike having the dentures and wanting to wear a mask 😷
I’m not sure which lines you mean, but my lines are pretty deep. I have 0 problem with eventually getting Botox. I would rather just have implants, and prevent that, but being over 30. Can’t win all the battles.

Hi I have brought face machines from Amazon . They are cheap they have took 5 years of me . despite having 10 missing teeth. it's important people with missing teeth do facial exercises to stop.premature aging.
No ones ever brought this to my attention, but I’ve been feeling some type of way about my chin. I’m actually self conscious of it now.

I broke more teeth with pizza than anything else. Thank you for the inspiration. I had all my teeth pulled this morning with immediate dentures put in. Honestly, I was wondering today if I had made the right choice. Not that I had any other choices. Again, THANK YOU!
If you were in pain, and suffered. You made the right choice. Never forget that. Also remember this part is called “the suck” but it gets better with time. You’re a strong man, and you can do this. I’m cheering for you!
Does your mouth get really dry? I've had my dentures for 3 years and my mouth gets so dry it drives me crazy. Just wondering if anybody else has this problem.
I don’t personally have this issue on a constant basis. There’s definitely times where I have dry mouth, but it’s not often. I saw a new product the other day for people with dry mouth. It was like a lozenge specially to help. I can’t remember the brand though.
Im soo happy for you !! Implants arent that great- 2 have failed on me so far! I need to do my bottoms now and noone wants to touch me wo doing implants- and funny fact i dont have enough bone! Lol good to know youre doing well!!!
Sounds like a situation. They want you to get implants, but don’t have the bone to do it. Sounds kind of ignorant if you ask me. I’m just a human, not a doctor, but that’s strange. It will get better. Not every dentist is the same. I’m praying you find the right one!

That’s a great idea. I’m a little concerned because... I’ve not dated anyone since my ex. Almost 3 years single. I could speak on like meeting people, and my concerns.
@@MyReason2smile I dated someone with dentures and it made no difference at all. She was upfront early on and i never gave it a second thought. Kissing seemed normal (sorry for being rude). So my advice is to be upfront at the beginning. Great channel BTW - you seems "real" and defo worth a sub.
