    Hello Kayla! Wow, I just found out that your mom is such a hero and went through so many years with her teeth. My mother had her teeth removed for 28 years, when I was still very young, and our dentist removed the remaining 24 teeth for me at the age of 32, although they were all already so bad and bothered me very much that it’s even scary to remember how much it was excruciatingly painful and as the doctor told me that I have the color of my teeth on my A2 prostheses, this is not the brightest color of my teeth and now I really like my smile and the most important thing for me is that I can eat almost everything and have completely forgotten about toothache .

      That’s awesome that you can eat anything. I never wish the pain and suffering of a painful mouth on anyone.

    I'm really trying to be brave having to get dentures but it's not easy especially hearing from some people that either the dentures aren't going to fit properly or they aren't going to look real because they make them big. I have to not only get full upper and lower dentures but I also have to have two torus mandibularis removed, filed down I don't know how they're doing this. Anyway I'm being told I should not get the temporary dentures and just let my gums heal and wait for the permanent dentures? I wish I knew what to do all this 😕 has been a nightmare and being 65 going through this myself is scary

      Oh love, I’m so sorry. It can be very scary and you can feel alone. There is a huge community of people who would love to help ease your fears some. Maybe just enough to push yourself through the process, but that is something! Waiting for the right fit really is the best way long term and financially. However that isn’t for everyone. Not everyone has the luxury of being home and being able to heal in that timeframe. That’s why temps exist. I promise you this process is not even close to the worst thing I’ve gone through. You are much stronger than you think you are!!!!

      Skip the temps if you dont need them was the worst money i spent. Paying for an oral surgeon and complete sedation was the best money i spent. If the teeth are bad you really feel better after its all done.

      @@MyReason2smile thanks for the kind words hon and I've been reading all kinds of denture stories and it does help. I guess it's just that first step that's 🤷 the hardest and I always said if I did this much studying in school when I was younger I'd probably be somebody today lol. You're a really pretty lady hon thank u for your videos they help along with others who are going through this

    You are brave i had my teeth removed with IV sedation i was in pain for like 4 days the swelling went down on the 4th day too , i didn't have much pain on the 5th day and just took 1 ibuprofen , i think it depends on the dentist how forceful he pull the teeth it can do some lasting damage if it was done wrong

      I think you may be right. Some of mine fought to stay in and I’m thinking that’s why I hurt so bad. I’m glad it wasn’t so bad for you, and I wish that experience for everyone.

    Hi Kayla. I just discovered your channel. One thing I have questions about, I started with one of your videos that was 6 years old. I'm watching this one, and you have re-learned how to talk in that space of time very well! I'm a 50 year old type 2 diabetic, getting my dentures through a dental school. Because I'm diabetic, they are making me wait 6 months after all the extractions before they put in new dentures. I'm kind of horrified.

    • @MyReason2smile
      @MyReason2smile  4 місяці тому +1

      Hey love! It def takes time to perfect talking, but you’ve got this. 6 months seems like an eternity, but in the long run will absolutely spare you from a lot of issues. That’s how it was done back in the day too, so it’s just a different path. It will be good long term though!

    Howdy! Hope your Mom's journal is going well. Wonder if her dentist would allow you to sit in with her a couple of times so you can tell if he could be your next choice? I went yesterday and had my uppers all extracted. Having partial denture on the bottom so I guess I'll have a good comparison between full and partial LOL! I have to wait for 8 weeks to get my dentures. He insists on it for bone growth. I know it'll be worth it but will have to go back to work without any upper teeth! Mask here I come. Can't wait for your next update.

      I told my mom the same thing. She can rock a mask but we live in Florida and people will look at her funny lol. She’s doing good, goes next week to get the impressions and wax try on. I am having her send me videos and pictures because I have to work. Once I see her results I’ll go get it done for me. Bring everyone along the journey

    I absolutely love & appreciate any video you make & I know I told you but next Friday 6/16/23 I'm finally getting my dentures. I love you & feel for your mama. Mine were pulled 2/9/23..
    And p.s. my teeth were bad but not that bad but 2 dentist both said all my teeth need pulled and that I had "significant bone loss" and I got numbed up pretty good and had laughing gas but with all my teeth they had to be loosened and with the big teeth it def hurt or it was the pressure. But laughing gas def helps.

    • @MyReason2smile
      @MyReason2smile  Рік тому +1

      I def agree on the laughing gas. I forget the term but it’s like moonlighting or lucid or something. It made it like meh whatever l. My dentist gave me some anxiety med before he pulled mine so that was helpful too. Ugh it’s so close!!!!! I’m betting you’re ready ready too.

    So pleased to hear your mum has recovered well. I’m wanting more teeth out as I have constant infected gums due to the pockets behind the teeth. My dentist doesn’t want to take ‘healthy’ teeth out….but I’ve struggled with constant pain and infection for 4 years now, and had enough😖
    I’m interested as to why you think your teeth will probably break soon??
    I love your honesty…..Thankyou👍‼️

    • @MyReason2smile
      @MyReason2smile  Рік тому +1

      Hey! I’m so sorry you’re going through that pain and agony. I hope it gets better like yesterday. I think mine are going to break because they have worn so thin on the upper palate and there’s a small hole getting bigger. I’m assuming it’s going to crack any day.

  • @KimbroughFamily2022

    Honestly getting my top teeth to go into a denture my first 3 days was the painful but after that it wasn’t bad! My only issue is the gagging! The partial SUCKS!!! I can’t get mine to stay down ever!!

    • @MyReason2smile
      @MyReason2smile  Рік тому +1

      The gaging is literally the worst. I would drool all over myself and gag till almost getting sick. The first few days you’re so swollen so it’s going to be incredibly hard and painful to shove them back in. I skipped that part, it was a hard pass for me. I just went without and let myself heal after the first night.

      @@MyReason2smile yes! I am good for about the first 8-9 hours then after I catch myself driving down the road and pulling them out gagging so much 🤣 I’m sure folks stare weirdly at my crazy self! But a girl has to do what she has to do! I’m praying once they do my hard reline and finishing fit it’ll go away! Bc it’s a nightmare!

    Bright white is pretty and I know everybody wants that especially after struggling with their smile but trust me and Kayla. You don't want that because as we get older? Our teeth are not as bright and so it just makes them. Look fake and you don't want that you wanna look as natural as possible. Love your content always look forward to seeing you.

      Hey beautiful! Thank you for confirming my point. Everyone does want a nice bright smile until they get corned and asked why they’re so bright on a daily basis. And you’re right they stand out like a sore thumb. Looks great in pictures but like in real like it’s whoa. I am so grateful you are always here and always so positive!

      For sure! I am in DFW and having a super hard time finding the same! Implants are easy here but dentures aren't popular or advertised except for Affordable and Aspen and I'm not going there@@MyReason2smile

    You want the whites of your eyes to be brighter than the teeth. That is what looks natural and gets you eye contact not people looking at your teeth.
    You look good and healthy don't stress on it to much. People judging you on stuff like that says more about them than you.
