Just having a "Good Degree" will NOT save you in this economy. You need a Unique Skill Stack to stand out from the rest of the workers out there. Think smart about your decisions, you can rise to top of society, with smart and efficient skill-building and career decisions. Let me know in the comments what is your game plan for dealing with this crazy job market. 💯
This vid reminded me of The Onion video "CEO worked way up from son of CEO".
I studied political science and since graduating, I've only worked in IT or software. I really resented working in an area I was trying to avoid and with people I had little in common with, but on the plus side, I'm now financially stable with a great foundation for retirement established. I disagree with the idea that philosophy is not useful for producing income. Learning how to think - logic, thinking things one way and backwards, in order to really reach some level high truth is an incredible exercise that helps me in all aspects of life, including with money. You learn to listen to the logic that is often presented to you by information sources and often determine what is bs, who is full of bs and who\what information that is valuable.
Thanks for sharing your perspective.
Community college grad with 2 year degree. $130k per year. When my skills save companies hundreds of thousands they pay no matter what your “fOrMal eDUcatiOn “ is.
Nice!
Good work!
Associates in Electrical Engineering Tech. $51 per hour with unlimited OT. Worked my way through community college paying cash.
Good strategy!
Hmm I want to do this
@@SweetPotato-RK is this for real?
Supply and demand, too many people have college degrees. Either one has experience or a network.
Call center might ruin her mental health and then she will have problem, In Poland the best skill to have is the ability to speak German, there have to be small nieshes glitches in the economic matrix where the demand is high and the supply is low.
Great point!
I don't think that's the issue! In my opinion I think that too many people don't know how to solve problems with their degrees.
Speaking of Poland, knowing German is good. But you need a place to apply it, other than Call Centers.
German will be best for sales and Engineering. Although, as you spoke about that one in Poland...they will still lowball you on that German as an additional skill you have.
@@MCLottotvthat too. Some psychology grads do not apply even to government places like psychiatry hospitals that may need them. Or prisons. These also need them and people run away because of a potential convict.
@@mrbanditos3583 you are right and I know it because I worked with German in two It companies from home with no experience. One paid really really good money, I was in the top 15 percent of earners in Poland. Knowing German in Poland is really the best corporate skill to have.
Still I wasn't really motivated, and my colleagues weren't either. If one doesn't have a family, or wants to buy stupid stuff or live a degenerate lifestyle, the additional money for personal use becomes kind of worthless.
4 Internships turned into 2 Y FTE. I got a general business degree. I had to utilize my network and find my niche during the internships
I have a suggestion, make a video on the skills that people looking to have a career in finance need to work on to get a job.

@@economicsethan Sure will do.
Amazing you gave the example of Stephanie McMahon. I'm a pro wrestling fan, so I was just happy to see that lol
Lol that is good!
2 degrees and companies just want to pay minimum pay, f* that. :D
True!
My family member hires LSE grads….he doesnt seem impressed by their accountants and he is the city.
He was thinking of doing a degree there. His secretary had to remind him…where do your employees come from? Will this degree be valuable to you?
He put that idea in basket.
Also, LSE is not really respected in North America.
Good points, thanks for sharing.
Gotta realize its hard to find internships in certain fields especially paid ones and some people literally cannot travel and work for free they would be homeless
Yes, that is true. Thanks for sharing.
LOL @ all the comments asking "2 degrees in what?"
Yes I wonder what she studied, I assume Liberal Arts Degree or maybe a Tech Degree but still struggling to find a job.
Experience? Lol! Y'all continue falling for the okie doke.
Not a single IT professional job that I've done over the decades, I could not have done fresh out of middle school.
Stop ✋🏻 with the experience nonsense. The purpose of a degree is to filter the herd of candidates.
I prefer one with one over one without any day. 😳
Thanks for sharing your view!
Hi Ethan, I have bachelors in Engineering. for 8 years since graduating, I have been working in corporate. But I feel like going back to college and get a masters degree in mathematics or something closely related.
One reason is that I am genuinely interested in studying maths. But also, I see that for many job positions, I see masters or Phd as academic requirements. So I fear it might be a deal breaker at some point later in life.
What would be your opinion on going back to college after so many years. Or would part time or online degrees worth as much as regular full time courses?
I would recommend that any extra study you do is because it will generate more money for you, rather than just an interest. We can discuss this in more detail here: economicsethan.gumroad.com/l/discovery_call
But some say that liberal arts degree from oxbridge is good for going into finance due to people perceiving these people to be smart
Yes I seen people with a History or Drama degree get jobs as Sales or Trading at top banks.
Yep you are 100% correct, the first step is identifiing and accepting your position in the food chain, and then base on your position be rational and realistic about what you could do...."follow your dreams" is just a BS that work for rich kids.
Thanks!
Her behavior excludes her from employment
do employers care about masters degree in terms of grades!!!
What do you think?
Experience > education
Yes 💯
Two degrees doesn’t mean you have common sense and know how to deal with people.
She needs to start at the bottom and work yourself up.
Good point!
Or just skip college.
True.
Why are you guys showing off to him?
What do you mean?
