I think backyard cricket is just part and parcel of an Aussie childhood - an aspect that was probably harder for younger siblings who had to do all the work to get a bat!
Mate, backyard cricket is played all over the world. If you drive anywhere in India, you will see kids or men playing cricket every 5 minutes either on gully's, fields, slums, backyards, roads, terraces and etc. I live in Canada and I play cricket with my brother every once in a while in the summer. It's not just a part of an "Aussie" childhood but every cricket crazy kid. My story is similar to A Finch's, my bro was exactly the same and my mom would always offer to bowl to me but I would be too furious at my brother to bat but the next time, I'd sometimes force him to complete his overs or get my wicket. Great vid though!
I've seen numerous videos about backyard cricket and all from Australia. Seems like a part of every kids childhood. Gully cricket is very popular in India and just like in Australia every cricketers journey starts with gully cricket
As much I loved watching it . I feel a lil bit sad thst most of us never had a backyard to play cricket . But again playing in a gully was not bad either💜🐥
India's Gully cricket Rules 1. Don't Hit a Six. If the ball goes for six , Out 😂 2. Don't hit the ball on Cars and bikes😂 3. Don't score runs when the owner of the bat/ball is bowling😅😅 4. Don't get the owner of the bat out very early.😂😅😹 All these make up the wonderful Childhood if Indian kids. These beautiful memories. A tear roles down my eyes as I am typing this. I am sure all Indians who have played cricket know this

Cool memories of childhood never ever forget 😭😭
Aaron’s brother is just like mine
We had a bat that lasted a very long time, it was called the backyard legend.
Little Warner looks like his second daughter
Maxwell and Steve Smith had the same bat when they were small. What bat is that?
George Bailey is a funny man! The rest are just reciting typical backyard stories..
0:16 David as a child 😂😂
George Baily for PM he is hilarious
that shed should bat #3 instead of Watson
Haha, mate that's rough xD damn, lol. He's alright at ODI's, test cricket just seems to be a bit too big of a stage for him.
Jack Sevil You'd think it'd be the other way around considering ODIs and T20s are pressure situations in big tournaments such as world cups.
FTRRacingTv was
My dad does the exact same thing that smith,s dad did
Aaron Finch is exactly how I used to be then I seriously improved my batting and tell my dad to let me bat first
