Thanks for sharing this recipe. Going to make a batch and try it out this weekend.
This looks like something that one kid at the middle school table would make
It's me. I'm that kid from middle school.
It probably tastes like something that one kid made too...😂
@@biggameutahn This must be like the ? ? ? 4th 5th, or maybe 1000th video on youtube of someone saying their bait is the world's best catfish bait, but none of them show the world's best catfish that was caught with it. I'll believe it when someone puts up a video of a monster caught with their best bait. And I ain't buying no chicken breast just to catch cats when a pack of dollar tree hotdogs can catch em. To me it's like buying $100 Gucci Toilet paper instead of Walmart's brand that costs about a buck.
Best catfish bait I ever tried. I tryed it on a lake on blue catfish and in 8 hrs i caught 14 catfish. I added some shrimp and worked great!
Awesome, I'm glad to hear it! I've tried a few different variations this summer, and one change that I've tried, is adding red food coloring (which works great)! I've also tried using chicken skin in the mix, and that seems to work great too. Thanks for the feedback Sergio!
Does it catch larger catfish or just smaller ones?
@@brianplambeck9728 Huge catfish, there is one of his other videos here that show some huge ones!
@@brianplambeck9728 It catches all sizes, but the big cats LOVE it!
@@biggameutahn thanks!
Chicken in a bag with strawberry jello works great, been using it for years, with a lot of success!
Good to know! Thanks for the tip!
I'm definitely going to try it. Thank you.
I'm also wondering if after mixing everything then pureeing it in a blender, then cut say 1"x 1" cubes of sponges and soak them in the puree. that would for sure be a bait that stays on the hook
That sounds like it's definitely worth the try! Let me know how it goes, sponges would be way cheap to pick up.
Sounds like a good idea.
I've tried that, the mix will wash out of the sponge very quickly, leaving you with a clean sponge and no scent
I'm taking my son out kayak fishing this coming weekend. I'm really excited. I think I'll give this a try. I want him to get a good fish on the line. I'm going to set him up with 2 poles in his rig. One will be on the bottom. One will be for crappi or bass. We're going to be at Weiss Lake in Alabama. Crappi fishing capital of the world 😁
Awesome! How did it go?
@biggameutahn we caught a few small ones. No one was having any luck on the lake. I was just happy to be hanging with my boy.
@@biggameutahn I want to see you fish with a pack of dollar tree hotdogs and just use that for cats. And no added ingredients like garlic or kool aid just hot dogs. I bet you catch just as many as you do with what's in that jar of hell.
My granny taught us as children to freeze the chicken liver and then it won't fly off hook but still catch the fish
Will have to give it a try! Thanks.
I also prefer using fresh frozen chicken liver. That way all that goop and blood slowly thaws into the water acting as it's own chum.
Wrap your chicken livers with sewing thread and if you twist-wrap around at the end 2-3 times there's no tying needed. I wrap it at least 15 times with red thread.
#GetItGirl 🎣
you can also buy elastic thread from hobby lobby or any place they sell crafting items...like you say above, just wrap it up to the shank and break it off stays perfectly
Will have to give that a try, I'm sure I could rummage through my wife's sewing box and find something to use! Thanks for the tip.
I’ve always took a stocking and made liver balls tie the ends up hood and cut it off
I have to truly say, Big Game Nation has one of the best recipes on making the best bait for catching catfish-bar none! Thanks for sharing your recipe, now guys go catch some fish!! Take it from the old (adventurer)
Thanks so very much!
Thanks for the video. One question- it sounds like after this is done, you don’t use the livers at all, just the chicken breast chunks, correct?
Hey B H! We use the livers as well, but they do tend to fall off the hook more easily. The chicken livers and the chicken liver blood, gives the scent to the chicken breast chunks as it marinates.
Sorry Im for indonesia... Resep umpan ikan lele tersebut apa saja namanya. Thank you
@@biggameutahnUse pantyhose. Extremely cheap and keeps everything bundled up on the hook.
Thanks for sharing! Just subbed!
Much appreciated!
Thanks for the tips. Easy to do
You're welcome! Can't wait for warmer weather so I can head out!
Great idea that i have to try. Only question i have is, do you use just the chicken chunks as bait or do you use the livers too?
Hi Feed the Beast! I use it all, the breast just ends up sticking on the hook a lot better. You can try putting a small piece of breast on the hook, then a piece of liver, then another piece of breast...kind of like a fish-kabob!
We use both, but the chicken breasts first.
I don't doubt you catch a lot of catfish with your bait, but I went a different route. I took my cue from the commercial catfishermen in Louisiana. Those guys use large hoop nets and almost all of them use old cheese scraps for bait. I make punch bait using scrap cheese, fish oil, Anise oil and cattail fibers. I buy the scrap cheese in 5 gallon buckets for $40 from a tackle store that sells commercial fishing tackle in East Texas. That's about 40lbs for $40 dollars. It's refrigerated when you get the cheese, but I always leave mine outside. It gets better with age. I buy the fish oil from a place online and I get the cattail from the banks of the lake I fish on. I heat the cheese to melting, add some fish oil and some Anise oil and some cattail fiber. I put it in half gallon containers and let it cool. It doesn't need refrigeration and just gets stinkier the older it gets. Most commercially sold punch baits are made the same way. My way is a LOT cheaper though!
Very nice, buddy... I use chicken chunk with liver, oil and garlic salt. Never thought using bacon grease. Thank you! 🎣🐟
The next part is wha??? Cant understand what it was he put in at 1:56....obviouly others cant either since its the most replayed part of the video according to youtubes new stats....someone translate please
Bacon grease...drain off the grease when you cook your bacon, and save the grease in a glass jar. When you're ready to make this bait, you can some of your bacon grease to it!
That's similar to what Muddy River catfishing does with his chicken liver, except he blends them up in a blender and soaks his chicken breasts in that.
Oh, really? I'll have to check that out, thanks for the comment!
@@biggameutahn he calls it chicken liver chum bait
Rip the blender
Something I've tried: inch and a half hot dog chunks marinated in grape or cherry kool aid with garlic salt. After it marinates,I pack it in a container with pool salt. Stays good for a year and works like a champ. You can even leave it in the boat.
Awesome! I'd love to try it out this spring and let you know how it works here in Utah. Thanks for the tip!
I tried that and never got a nibble
@@biggameutahn did it work
@@biggameutahn Bro, can you tell me what you put in the mix?
@@leavethekidsalone I haven't tried it yet....but I need to!
My grandpa use to grind up cattails and mix them in the bait to keep it sticking to the hook a lot better
Cattails? Wow! I've never heard that one, but would love to give it a try! There are tons of cattails where we catch the big cats.
the local stuff we buy here is bound with cattails and it 100% keeps it on the hook. either bare treble or wire wrapped. we lose very little on casts.
Can u tell me the third ingredient, what its that?
Hi Tisna! The third ingredient is bacon grease. Whenever you cook bacon, save the bacon grease in a glass jar with a lid. When you're ready to make bait, slowly warm up some of that bacon grease, and then add it to your bait!
So do you fish with the chicken liver or the chicken I'm confused
We use both, but use the chicken breasts first, because they hold onto the hook better.
A loop knot will keep chicken livers on the hook.
Can I use chicken feet and gizzards
Sure, why not? Let me know how it goes, I'm always intrigued to hear what works for other people.
You could also dip bread as an attractant with blood on the bread
Might have to try that out too, thanks for the tip!
I use cheese cloth and rubber bands to hold thr chicken liver on
Use pantyhose.
That's a good idea too!
Some people used to tell me that they drop it in pantyhose like mesh net and put it on the hook I've never done it myself you know but I've done the wheaty dough balls and everything else man 😂. I've heard it from a few old times but I never did try this pantyhose thing. It makes good sense too
I'm sure my wife has some pantyhose I could get my hands on, somewhere, so I can try it out when it warms up!
Can confirm done this for years an old hunter taught me that
Where can i get cheap chicken liver
I always watch the sales at my local Smith's, they seem to mark down the prices often!
Use chicken skin: put the chicken liver in chicken skin and sow the chicken skin together with the chicken liver inside.
Red jello kool aid any thing red you eat or wear. Pigs blood. I was a meat worker
Awesome to know! I've tried red food coloring, but I'll have to give red jello or red kool aid a try too; thanks for the tip!
I tried a tampon once in livers,
How did it work? That's one I have never tried!
😂
Has to be a used tampon of course! 😂
@@manuelgem449. Why bother with the livers? 😂
👍
I thought bacon grease was what you fried them in.
We haven't tried frying them in bacon grease, we just add it to our raw chicken and it works like a charm! Let me know if you try frying your chicken in the grease.
Late to say love your videos
On your bait try adding koolaid
Thanks man! I'll have to give koolaid a try, thanks for the tip!
Prove it.
I use panty hose make bite size ball and send them out with out having them falling off
You sound like forest gump
Didn't catch anything with it.. idk why smells terrible to me catfish should love it but no luck unfortunately
Shit-ken? Lol
Now no offense here my man but you better leave the catfish bait & tactics to us boys from the south & south east & y'all stick to your elk & mule deer hunting
Well as a south Georgia boy myself I'ma have to agree with this fella. My granddaddy did something very similar which I now use and it's put some absolutely massive cats on my lines. Even a few big ass bowfin.
@@ryannoslip2444 what do you use
I'd run up and slap that fellar , just for kicks and giggles. I wonder what he'd do about it ? From the looks of him ,he got all freaked out because he got his right hand dirty . Probably nothing . Germ freaks are usually big crybaby's . Lol. Peace.
