Often on videos it's hard to capture just how steep things are. However there was one shot that really let us know and I was thing 'holy crap'.
Thanks for the video I don't do all that much sand driving these days. But when I did on Frazer Island Queensland & travelling around Oz, tyre pressures was a real make or break to getting to and from some juicy destinations. So it is an important factor.

0.4 bar is probably the lowest I’ve ever heard anyone drive at without un-beading. Would never have guessed it was possible. Thanks for sharing.

I was also surprised , never thought I would go that low , but the BF's with the harder side walls probably helped the tyre not de-beading.

Great video once again!!!! Did a sand dune trip just north of Sydney in Oz. After so many years diving diesel utes, where i probably had the psi at 18. I made the mistake of the same psi with the Jimny. Great to see the performance at 11 psi

Tyre pressures on the Jimny makes a huge differance , another benefit is the high revving petrol engine that just keeps going as long as you have the revs high , always good fun in thick sand and dunes👍

@@justjimny i only just realised you mentioned having the jimny in 4 Low….. do you always keep it in 4 low on the dunes???

@@justjimny how about flat sand on the beach near the water??

@@dasweelie81 Those type of dunes , you need the extra torq in 4L to get up the dunes , since you dont have a long run up to them.

@@dasweelie81 On flat sand you can try 4Hi , but as soon as the engine starts to strain or you smell your clutch switch over to 4L , I prefer 4L in sand since ypu have more torq and you can accelerate much quicker in sections of thick sand.

Nice video , what tyres are those ? The type of tyre does play a key role when dropping pressures n de-beading. I have 31x10.5 maxxis 764 , I take the pressure to 0 and the side wall is still strong enough to support the weight of my zuk . I wouldn't dare try this stunt with a HT tyre.

I wonder what will an automatic do here? I usually deflate my tyres to 1.0 all round and lowest 0.8 for the beach. I also stay in high range, only use my low range for emergency.

Because these dunes have very short run up distances 4L 2nd was the best choice to get you to the top , Like mentioned I went to 0.4 BAR on the BF's and had no issues with debeading or anything like that. I also realized that the clutch works a bit harder in 4Hi and you can smell it after a few attempts , thats why I stuck to 4L and it went well.

Hi , no its not standard anymore , but did not go overboard with extras that weigh down the 1500 engine.

Hi Stephanus , yes I played around with it a bit on the dunes , and sport mode did help out with the short run ups to the dunes.
