Wonderfully playful watch by Oris. It makes me wonder if they'll add a "Count" Edition to a Muppets collection. It seems to me as very on-point for counting the numbers of time as they pass.
In black DLC..with mat black dial and white markers...YES!!! ... also, Big Bird with a Yellow dial...... Miss Piggy with a Pink Dial.... Oscar the Grouch in oxidized bronze with a Brown dial....
I never really looked twice at Oris’ pro pilot x model family, but this one is a real game changer for me. I really resonated with the story of what this watch represents and to make a long story short I am definitely picking one up! Excellent content as always Teddy! 👍🏼👍🏼

Propilot x series is a way overpriced watch which sucks because it's so nice on the wrist. ADs are selling them for around $2400-$2800 new because that's the only way to sell them. They're still overpriced at that level imo
I love Oris. It was my first Swiss watch 30 years ago. So I bought the ProPilot Coulson. It featured the Caliber 400, carbon fiber, nice strap, and a dial with applied numbers and markers, unlike most ProPilots, which are printed. I bought it in memory of my brother, a firefighter killed fighting a fire with Coulson trying to drop enough retardant overhead. I loved the watch. Then, at a watch show in San Francisco, the CEO of Oris North America noticed that the date wheel on the watch had stopped working. Fortunately, I had registered for the 10 year warranty and the watch was only a few weeks old, so my AD sent it to Oris for repair. But even though I was in the database and registered, Oris refused to honor their warranty because I’d bought it online from a grey market seller (who had purchased it from an AD but sold it to me new). In short, Oris decided to punish me, a paying customer who loves the brand, not the offending dealer. When I offered to pay for a repair, they refused. Their position was "why? Because we have the proprietary parts to the Cal 400, so f*ck you, that's why." I sent a detailed note to VJ Geronimo the Oris CEO who had spotted the stuck date wheel. He never replied. Fortunately, Watchmaxx honored their warranty and replaced the watch with a new one. I promptly sold it because every time I looked at it, I was reminded not of my brother, but of the shabby treatment that Oris had given me. I still like Oris and will keep a S/G pointer date. But this was a heartbreaker 😢 and seriously annoying.
That is scary And very sad story. Its leaving you up in the Air. The Seiko Service Center Will take care of Seiko Watch customers. And so does Rolex Service Center take of Rolex Watch customer. I was considering getting the pre-loved 2023 Propilot X And ready to pull the trigger. But because of this story , it made me think twice, trice now of considering my purchase. I understand too ORIS watches have appearing design, but For help, I dont know man. Thanks For sharing the story.
Oris needs to make a his/hers edition with hers being a lavender Miss Piggy in 24mm. Women love watches too. But our wrists look ridiculous in anything >35mm.
Since Oris sent the mail with the teaser of the incoming novelties, I was expecting a PP of this color because it was easy to identify the PP bezel. But they also add Kermit the frog. God, that's genius! 💚

“Look, it’s a Kermit.” I spent the entire video expecting you to say it was a joke. While not my choice for a couple grand, I love the sense of humor. I really like that Oris continues to be bold and fun, but has quality watches at its core.
I had to check the calendar; it's perilously close to the first of April… April Fools day! But I clicked the link to Oris' site and it really looks legit! Frankly, I like this bit of whimsy from Oris MUCH more than that silly Rolex puzzle dial DayDate with affirmative moods in place of the days and emojis substituting for the date. That said, one of those watches will be worth multiple tens of thousands in a few years and I fear it will be Kermit who's the chap left weeping into his hot cocoa. Shame!
At first I was like "that green dial is a bit too much" but the more I see it, the more I like it. As for the price, I think it is reasonable. Don't forget that you are getting a 10 year warranty and an in-house calibre with 5 day power reserve. Have to say that at this price point, as far as the insides of the watch go, you can't beat it. I own a Big Crown Pointer Date which I adore, but I have tried one of these on (albeit not in the green) and they're crazy comfortable and a bit of a sleeper.
I remebering someone on the Oris post for this watch asking for info on when the Kermit face comes up on the date counter and I kid you not whoever manages their page replies "it comes up on the first of the month, that's Kermit's day;" KERMIT'S DAY! I've wanted one ever since.
If you want to get technical with the history Kermit got his start on SNL. He didn't go to Sesame Street until after Loren Michaels canned him in the first season. But no one remembers that.
I’m not at all into the muppets but Oris did a great job here. Like others have said, I would have to see it in person. They tend to be a bit underwhelming up close. Also $4600 is a lot for a playful piece like this. If it was a couple grand cheaper then I’d be all in
I think the price is fair actually. It contains an in house calibre that took years to develop, sapphire crystal with AR coating and a titanium case. The +200 over the standard ProPilot X can also be justified with the licensing costs to Disney etc. My only real issues are the lack of micro-adjust and the painted indices given the price point. Neither are deal breakers though and I can't wait to pick mine up!
i really like the pro pilot x line, the salmon pink face is so fun and this kermit version is so cool however i was so shocked to see that the second hand in this example look really roughly finished. you can see part of it is chewed up
I actually love it, though I am a Kermit fan. That price makes it tough. So like with the Omega Seamaster NTTD, I really wish it were a couple of thousand dollars less and then I would add to cart.
Did Oris ever get to fix the 400 caliber's minute-hand setting accurately issue solved? Matt dials tend to look cheap when the watch is in hand and up close, really dig the Kermit collaboration, but will wait until the watch is in the shops for a closer look.
I think this will happen more often. Rolex Day Date has an emoji version as well. I would love to be able to buy custom day and date wheels to fit my personality.
The markers should be applied Ti to match the case - especially at that price. I don’t understand using kids’ cartoons or puppets on luxury watches. What’s next - a Hamburglar Black Bay 58?

Love the regular Propilot X design. However, I still can't get over the fact that they retail for $4,300 but only have painted-on indices. Seems chintzy, considering the price.
I'm picking up this piece today and it's the only thing that really gets me! I feel that the development that went into the Calibre plus the material make it worth it. +200 over the standard version for Kermit is fine given licencing etc. But painted indices on a near 4k watch does leave a bad taste!
@@almac9203 it's been a disaster dude. Had an awful experience in the AD with a saleswoman who had no idea what she was doing. Got the watch home and it was running 5 MINUTES PER HOUR FAST!! Best the AD could offer was a 12 week estimate on a service without even swapping it as a brand new product. I went for a full refund! Very impressed 😂

Much as I love the angular case design, bracelet & that awesome clasp - the dials on these ProPilot X's for some reason always seem like they're lacking something & look rather plain.
I had the same thought then tried them on in person and I thought the blue dial was the best. The dials are plain but the rest of the watch is so cool that the plain dial kind of goes well with it. The list price is not what you'll pay though. You'll 100% get a discount on any Propilot X from an AD and I see these on Jomashop regularly for $2400-$2800. Still a bit pricey imo, because the competition is fierce in this price point (a Sinn 556i is around $100-$1500 and I think the fully tegimented U50 can be had around the price of this watch...)
Nope for me. It's nice but that lemon green dial with the white indices gives me a headache trying to read the time. Oris should've gone with darker indices and a blued or coloured hands.

I love Kermit, so, this would be a "fun" watch at under $2k, but that $4600 list price pushes this out of the whimsy market.

Love the color and ProPilot X line but I can’t get over the “Lift” signed clasp.
It's supposed to be a seat belt buckle (which you cannot tell anyone and keep a straight face).
I'm getting +/- zero to one second per day so far. This movement is incredible.

On the Oris website, this model is 43mm, is it a mistake here or are there 2 versions?
Many of Oris' offerings are oversized and chunky. I have a Big Crown Pointer Date that's reasonably sized for my 6.5" wrists.
