Awesome work guys , just a quick question and not sure if you would know the answer. Im from South africa, i have a px2 3.2 auto and i have done all the mods, stage 3 turbo, intercooler upgrades and everything to support the setup. Im very happy with my dyno results, im running 33" tyres, my current dyno run sits at 200kw and 799nm at the fly. My question is: how much torque can the torque converter and gearbox handle, i understand im pushing limits, but i cant get answers to, i know its the same gearbox as the mustang, but i need to know what the torque converter is capaboe of. I would greatly appreciate some insight. Thanks in advance
Howzt man! I’m interested to find out what mods you did on your Ranger, but I think Diesel performance parts in AUS will be your best stop . I’m in S.A. as well and I have done quite a lot of mods on my 2.2. High flow injector nozzles Upgraded gear driven oil pump Utra fine diesel filter LOC Catch can Stage 2 LOF Heavy duty clutch Stallion hybrid turbo Stainless steel boost pipes Stainless steel intercooler BCM air filter 76 Straight pipe exhaust Potted exhaust manifold Methanol kit Pity some of these parts you can’t find them in South Africa and you have to source them from overseas.
What's the longevity of the motor after the power has been beefed up like this? I've got a intercooler upgrade and 3 inch exhaust and was thinking of going a tune, but not sure if i'll dramatically shorten the life of the motor.
Sorry I'm a Desiel noob. What does plus 30s mean? Are you putting 30cc bigger injectors in? Or? Interesting to see what it drives like after I had a 3.2 for a work car and I used to hate driving it. The engine felt very sluggish
Hey mate, I’ve got a px2 with a upgraded mtq turbo also, wondering what psi you tuned this one too? Do you reckon the plus 30s are really necessary for this turbo? Cheers!
Hey mate I’ll have to double check tomorrow but from memory 24psi peak. If you look at the dyno sheet you can see the gains and that it’s worth it but not necessary. The extra torque and power you gain is noticeable, this car was already tuned with the turbo and stock injectors. The auto is the limiting factor on these.
No, most people don’t know how to tune them properly and will cause more damage than leaving it alone will do. Seen multiple exploded converters and trans with no drive from people trying to tune them. Leave trans alone, tune ecu correctly and will be fine
@@procheckautomotivemechanic4551 Thanks for the reply. I got a remap done back in July and so far the transmission has done well enough. I have read that some will go an extra step and using their Forscan, will turn off the part of the TCM that adapts to your driving style. Is that something that you'd recommend, or simply leave everything as is, transmission wise?
Pretty sure it will void your warranty even if the work wasn't the cause of any issue you may have and you will have to take Ford to court to prove otherwise.Good luck with that.
Very informative video..👍👍
Is that a standard exhaust..?
What is the part no for the turbo is it a garrett power max
nozzles are your own custom made?
would it fit in new model ranger 2.0?

Hey mate can the hard limiter harm the engine at all?

The tuned rangers usually go bang. Eventually
Hi what rpm are you setting the limiters at?

Great question
Plus 30’s are 30% oversized
Injectors make a massive difference especially when paired with a turbo upgrade.

Is it necessary to also remap the transmission along with the engine?
Yes

Does the tune and bigger injectors effect the cars warranty
I don’t know about Australia, but In the US yes absolutely. Warranty claims would be denied.
If they are found to be the cause of the fault your claim will be denied. Your warranty won’t be voided though
@@procheckautomotivemechanic4551 that’s what I meant to say. My response was as clear as mud, yours was better.
Most definitely.

What about my STX 550.
Haven’t done +30’s on one but if we can get them we can tune it
Ha what’s a rough estimate on some +30s on a n70 Hilux
Hey Robert.
Depends on mods you currently have as you’ll need exhaust and clutch (if manual) Give us a call on 1800 776 243 for info and pricing
