That Haniwa Salaryman, a poor individual. It's a real shame you know. He would've made it to work as usual if he stayed on the path back to his normal life and home, but he chose to stay behind where things were more exciting. Now he'll never get to work on time. Maybe someday he'll find the way back, but it's awfully hard to get lucky twice.
Technically, he never would've gotten home, no matter what he did. As revealed in volume 3 of this series, he died and wasn't going home, but was going to his grave!
For everyone who doesn't get it: the guy that gave them his business card (which said Haniwa, btw) was the first guy. His form is also a Haniwa, a doll used to house lost souls
He was trying his best to run away from the terror of fantasy. But Gregory, managed to reel him back, as the faces of reality, were too much for him to handle.. Losing his memory of what happened, blindly seeing the world fade back to Gregory's Hotel. Now knowing that his life as a businessman has been chosen as his forever home, I can truly say, he died not knowing what his true intentions were..
+PluppyDog Yeah, depressing isn't it? He stayed in Gregory house hoping to fulfill his need for excitement only to get stuck in his own personal hell: a mockery of his old life.
Yep apparently and I'm also disappointed in the fact that I theorized the entire plot incorrectly about greg being the imaginative version of the guy...
I don't know if that is a compliment saying that the second guess is beautiful or a insult saying she is old and needs to be thrown away (her soul be taken) idk I'm probably reading into that too much
TheLegofan21 I think it's neither. I'm guessing that the second guest *is* beautiful but is afraid of aging and losing her looks. Gregory is only taunting her with the inevitability of age. And with the fear she has that once she no longer young and beautiful, she will be unwanted and unloved, and no one will value her. Gregory always seems to know what his guests secret fears and desires are.
I like how they keep the first guest in the story and how he grew into madness perhaps that's the story of all the guest and they just make a continuing dream world? Just a theory.
+Tycro Rogers No he just thinks he has to work. Forever. In the last train it shows that every night he thinks he's going home after a long days work but he's going to his grave.
So uh... since we're on the topic of the first guest here, anybody else think that he's the second guest's ex? They seem to imply it with the flashbacks and all.
+Luke DiDomenico So you're telling me that the second guest broke up with him and then his wife died in an hospital alone because of an accident because he chose a business deal over her? So he became what he hated about the second guest?

Jerus PI Well, I didn't look into things that deeply, but the whole 'first guest becoming exactly what he hated about the second guest' would be a delicious bit of irony. Also, I understand the time frame is a bit inconsistent, with the first guest having kids when he came to the hotel, and the second guest coming back from his wedding when she became a guest, but considering Gregory house is some sort of messed up purgatory, it wouldn't surprise me at all if time is inconsistent there.
I don’t think that was the man from the first season. I think Haniwa Salaryman just happens to be a new guest and the man from season 1 really did make it back to reality
I'm very confused how the first guest is getting more out of life by only needing to go to work, without a family or kid or more than two things to say.
Shouldn't he have handed them his business cards with two hands? I hear giving someone your business card with only one hand is considered rude in Japan.
And so is the ultimate fate of our friend from the first season, he gave into the madness.

HomerHedgey haniwa is the first guest
Only to get immediately bored again

....that business guy became a permanent guest after all. That is way more dark then i was expecting.
RyuKaguya Are you referring to the first guest?
Dommbuscus Yes.
that's very true
Well it seems he isn't completely lost since later on Gregory refers to him as his friend, which I don't believe he says the same for the other guest
Everyone who enters Gregory's purgatory does.
so THAT'S what became of the guy i was rooting for the entire last season?
+PluppyDog Yeah, depressing isn't it? He stayed in Gregory house hoping to fulfill his need for excitement only to get stuck in his own personal hell: a mockery of his old life.
It's pretty messed up and the fact that Gregory despite being slightly responsible for his state still calls him his friend
Yep apparently and I'm also disappointed in the fact that I theorized the entire plot incorrectly about greg being the imaginative version of the guy...
Drinking game: Take a shot every time Gregory asks "What's that?" or giggles.
I think I'd instantly die from kidney failure, he giggles after he speaks each time.
Like I've seen every season and episode of this. Even in the games he laughs all the time at the end of each phrase or sentence
*dead*
madaboutmarceline
I think the proper rule would be to take a shot for every dark joke you hear and another one if you get the joke.
We'd all die frim that
"even beautiful roses must be thrown in the trash when they grow old"
the implications.

Wow suddently the quality is much better xD
Sorry I'm late to the party,
*but I'm here to say that Haniwa really needs some headpats*
Did anyone else hear the really deep 'forever' at the end, or am I going crazy?
I heard it
"There are more things to loose than your way....."
Please don't tell me he means what I'm thinking he means......
What do you think he means?
For the love of every religion's Gods, Don't think about it
I DID. YFXCYFCXCVV
Rape joke.
ChocoPopcorn
I wouldnt pass it past Gregory, He does have porn books in the game.
1:21 It says HANIWA in Katakana. It's written like it's his name, but Haniwa are clay dolls (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Haniwa)
Aren't they the same thing as gyroids from animal crossing that preserve the souls of the dead?
@@Goldenblade14 yes
OMG the season 1 main character! He really has gone insane from his eternal prison in Gregory House
i wonder if more of the characters we saw used to be human guests like the season 1 protagonist? that would be cool.
0:56 Okay, you asked for it:
DON"T LOSE YOUR WAAAAAAAAY!
Is that a reference to something?
So wait wait wait wait... the new guest was HIM?! From the last volume?!
most likely
This show is good but the first guest I rooted for....
You're next, woman.
Why dose this look way better?
Thanks for uploading these! They're fantastic!
Hey wasn't that the first guest in volume one who was saying he was late for work?
Take a shot everytime a judgement boy appears in the whole series
What does the business card say? Also, cameo! :D
haniwa
Oh yeah, if anyone is curious, ”ハニワ” can be read as romanized "Haniwa"
I'm not sure if it means anything or if that's a name though.
Woohoo! Thank you for uploading!!
Wait does this mean ALL the guest were people!?
1:39 Ohhhhh... I got a girly room now... How pleasant....
+Bellinda Nguyen Literally the only thing that changed about the room were the sheets and the flower.
Cool a new person
So the guy from the first season escaped reality of working to live in Gregory's Hotel to work?
Errrmmmm.... Alright. :l
+Tycro Rogers No he just thinks he has to work. Forever. In the last train it shows that every night he thinks he's going home after a long days work but he's going to his grave.
That sale man at the start was the guy in the first season trying to get out!!
No shit
That last word was creepy .
was that the first guest?
Yes, it was... poor guy.
Bye bye haniwa It's to late now.
Yes.
So uh... since we're on the topic of the first guest here, anybody else think that he's the second guest's ex? They seem to imply it with the flashbacks and all.
+Luke DiDomenico So you're telling me that the second guest broke up with him and then his wife died in an hospital alone because of an accident because he chose a business deal over her? So he became what he hated about the second guest?

What ever happened to the first guest? was he the i'm late to work guy...
Yes, if you see the last night from the first volume you would see him. (Also he's one of Gregory's new guests.)
Such a terrible fate to befall the First Guest...
So the first guest became a eternal work-a-holic?
Where does he go to work in a hotel?
So...that yellow guy was the first guest?
Yes.
He's late for work.
My only regret, is I can only sub and like once.
Dude chose cool scenery
from ps1 graphics to PS2 graphics *click* NICE.
It looks the same
oh i wasnt expecting it to be a different person for volume 2
Throw it in the treeeeeesh.
I don’t think that was the man from the first season. I think Haniwa Salaryman just happens to be a new guest and the man from season 1 really did make it back to reality
Gregory sounds different, was this made a year or two after the first series?
whats the card say?
It's ok. Back then, I didn't know. I do now.
thanks for the rose *fangirling intensifies*
*Get in the trash.*
Awwww.... poor man.
Stephen Haniwa Salaryman is a cutie
So is this a prequel or a sequel to season 1?
I would say sequal
It's a sequel because the businessman is the man from the first volume.
The first guest met a terrible fate. Is this guest going to do the same and wind up here forever?
FUCK YEAH 480p RESOLUTION
I did. This was a WHILE back.
@Skunxful As a clerk, I suppose.
I am not at all learned at Japanese so can someone tell me what the business card says?
+theprincesspeach94 Haniwa
I'm very confused how the first guest is getting more out of life by only needing to go to work, without a family or kid or more than two things to say.
truth be told i don't feel /too/ bad about the first guy
i mean he abandoned his kid like what an ass
eh, hope we see him in the upcoming show
Am I the only one who thinks that Gregory's voice sounds similar to the Happy Mask Salesman's? I can't be the only one...
Omer gash me too
And that's enough internet for today.
Endy Wolf
LOL
+Azuith Lamia Nope, I've thought it the entire time.
+Azuith Lamia You've met with a Terrible Fate haven't you?
Why does Gregory address the second guest as “my dear”? Does he have a crush on her? 😉
waking up at gregory’s house is like waking up and realizing you are in brazil
well Toodee, this you can do, Brandon did it, and so can you
*looks at time-stamp* Oops. Sorry about that. XP
his soul was weak, if he had chosen the right path he would have become one of us, one of the chosen.
His soul was weak, we will save him soon.
Watch the series to find out!
Shouldn't he have handed them his business cards with two hands? I hear giving someone your business card with only one hand is considered rude in Japan.
He did seem rushed, so I doubt he could really care about that much anymore.
